09/24 - 09/26 - North Carolina, 4th Annual

I don't know if anyone has been following the angst here in the Hampton Roads area over the loss of Joint Forces Command and contractor positions in general, but we have been anticipating that news for a while, and all of us working as contractors have been quite nervous. Anyway, to making a short story long here, I was fortunate enough to be in a position that they converted to a government position and start in that new capacity next week. However, it means I loose all my time off, and won't have accumulated any by the time this gathering rolls around next month, so again I must miss this gathering. Hope you all have a great time and get better weather this year.
 
Darn Tivo, was looking forward to meeting you at last and getting your book back to you. If you need it now, I'll mail it but otherwise, it's here on my bookshelf awaiting a face to face. Good luck with the new job. My grandfather told me once that "Happiness is not getting what you want, it's wanting what you get!!"

Hello everyone :D Just a reminder If you want a tee shirt I need to know how many and the sizes.
Whittaker Pointe Doesn't take Plastic so plan on cash or check to pay for your slip. 8)
I will need cash or check for Tee shirts, and Saturday night Meal. It's 10.00 for each tee shirt and 15.00 per person for the Catered Meal Saturday night. :D
We are hoping to offer a few different cruise plans for Saturday. Some folks last year took a day cruise on Sunday as well,with some Local folks at the Gathering.
Please remember to bring food to share at the Friday night Pot Luck dinner. :thup I will remind you all about this stuff closer to the Gathering. BUT The tee shirt orders need to be made now ! I WILL NOT order extra shirts. Thanks, see ya all soon ! :) Tracy
 
Just looked at last years' pix, not having been to the NC gathering before. Don't you folks do anything but eat??

My goodness, 35 pictures of food and eating and about 7 of boats! Gotta have some sun this year! Lots of work to do on my boat before it's ready, it hasn't been on the trailer for two years, gotta get that trailer checked out too.

Really looking forward to this!

Well Charlie the weather was bad last year so...we sat on the Big ole porch in rocking chairs and watched the waves & boats go by ! LOL Thankfully Bob & Paula fed us a tasty breakfast on Sunday. We had 11 boats and way too much extra food ! We didn't have our usual person there to take photos. So there were not many to add. LOL Perhaps we can find someone to do the photos this year ! You better get busy with that Boat ! You don't have much time left ! Take care, Tracy :D

Hello Everyone.. I have two cancellations to tell you about. First is Bob & Paula Steves. They have some health issues that will be keeping them home durning this Gathering. We will miss them and their cooking ! :cry:
I got an email from "Skimmer" Lou & Nadine won't be able to attend either. Sadly we won't get to meet these new friends ! :|

Hi Tracy (Dragonfly) Loree and Jim from Jennykatz will be there minus our boat because of time restraints . Loree (med ) and Jim (x-large) t shirts if still possible . We will make reservations in Oriental for that weekend and hopefully we can grab a ride with one of the brats for saturdays cruise ?

Has anyone used the (Oriental bed and breakfast ) ? I will reread and find out what to bring see you all there JIM and LOREE Widmann

:D Looks like I am "on again!" I get to come and play! Lit'l Tug is cleaned up and ready. I saw from earlier posts there are some people looking for a boat to ride for any cruises, I am by myself, so can easily take one or two (16CD). Lets hope for this wonderful weather to continue. :D
 
Hello Jim , Glad you all are coming even without the boat ! I am sure we can find a ride for you both. I have your tee shirt order . We haven't stayed at the B&B but my mother in law stayed there and liked it just fine. We are staying at the River Neuse Suites and a few others are staying at The Oriental Marina & Inn.

We will be staying at the INN at Oriental for $90 plus tx a night they still have rooms . It is about 2 blocks from the other hotels right in the heart of town .

Tracy let us know what you might need side dish for Friday and Sat. Ice or whatever Thanks see you there Jim and Loree
 
Larry and I are bringing a case of hamburgers/buns and cheese. If you all want to bring some side items for the hamburgers that would be great ! Saturday is our catered meal from Smithfield. Everyone will be ask to put in 15 dollars each to cover the meal,soda, water, table coverings, candles to keep the state birds (mosquitoes) away and other items for the weekend. Hello, Yes Bill and Sharon are making us all name tags (mine will be upside down so I can read it can read it ! LOL
FRIDAY we will be helping everyone get settled in from the boat ramp to the Marina at Whittaker Pointe Marina. We will have a Pot Luck dinner so everyone needs to bring some FOOD to share with everyone else. There is an Ice machine at the Marina, the picnic area is covered so IF the weather is bad we will be dry ! :)
SATURDAY we are planning on a choice of 3 cruises. Bill has all that mapped out for us.He will explain it all Friday night lol. Saturday night at 6pm we are having a Catered meal by Smithfield BBQ and Chicken.
SUNDAY we were going to have a Breakfast meal but.. Sadly Paula & Bob will not be able to come to the Gathering or able to cook. So Sunday we can have coffee and say our good byes. Some folks plan to take a cruise up Adams creek or off to the light house. We will help everyone get their boats back to the ramp and loaded. I will hand out the tee shirts Friday night .Perhaps we can get Tivo to play us some music Friday or Saturday . LOL See ya all soon ! Tracy[/b]
 
Hi Charlie, Yes Larry and I will be there Thursday . Just call when you get to New Bern that way we will have time to stop what ever we are doing and come help you all get settled into your slip ok ? You have my cell number right ? We should be there around Lunch or sooner Thursday.
