09/16 - 09/18 - Langley Gathering

Captain's Choice and Cheers, heck, I thought it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the other side of the planet. You know, like, "It's after 10 p.m., do you know what Asia is up to?"
Too, figured all you smart guys with electronic eyes could coordinate my pointy end for me. Like C-Lou Jon in the fog. Still, I'll be seeing Les.

Roger, I'd rather the dentist drill me than my tiny plastic critter. Just the thought leaves me sleepless in Seattle. But you Langleyites have a groovy time digging and trapping, and know I'll be there again soon. And anyone else thinking about joining the Langley bunch: Go. It's close, a pretty cruise, features comely participants, an attractive little town, and by sundown the sea's bounty will leave you rubbing your contented tummies.

Patty here. Catman, I'm having withdrawal symtoms from not seeing you. After letting Byrdman crash on our dinette, we know it is no problem and are offering it to you. You can spend all day bothering, I mean, visiting the other brats and know you have a bed to crash on at night. Do like Brydman and stumble in at 3:00am and we will not even know you're there. Really, think about this. We all miss you!!

Patty, darling, you mean you got no problem with a curious Cat inviting its garrulous self aboard and inspecting your cooler while making friendly with 22 ounce Wildcat Ales? Hey, those are the kind of watermates a guy can feel all warm and fuzzy about. See you for sure at Desolation, and I'll be thirsty. In bother, er, visiting mode, too.
:love

P.S. Thanks for the offer and your kind words. Beer team: The feeling's mutual.

Yesterday I went over to Langley and met Eric, the new dockmaster. He said that until after the busy season he would not be able to hold spaces for us. if we can get there early on friday or thursday he could possibly set us in so that as more of us showed up we would move around and park nose in and double up so to speak. he is willing to help us out if possible but when we were there friday it was already packed for the evening by 14:00 hrs.we had to raft up outside another just to go in for a snack uptown.
Eric would like to try to have a count of how many boats we would have as soon as possible so that he may be able to work something out for us.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the information. At the 'present' moment we're hoping to arrive sometime before noon on Friday, the 19th.

Hi! Everyone..it was great meeting so many of you at Blakely. We will be seeing you at Langley, but we are in agreement with Mac and Linda (Two Lucky Fish) We also live within 15 min., and we LOVE our bed...so we will join you, but will motor over...see you there...Judy and John

Hello all
I need to call the harbormaster at langley and let him know how many will be coming. Dave S. stopped in there yesterday and talked with him and he expressed to Dave that we should give hime a call.
so far there are three boats signed up and I guess I will let him know that there will possibly be 4 or 5 boats total.

I am still wrestling with another commitment the same weekend and am trying to juggle my time to do both.
hope to see you all at the dock

Due to the lack of interest in this outing and the fact that I can only be there for a short time I was wonderin if changing to sometime in Sept would be better for y'all

There are several who won't be headding up to Canada waters so mayhaps we need something at that time.
The Harbormaster says that he can be more accomodating after the Labor Day holiday.

there are some Minus tides the 16, 17 of sept.

Roger,

We don't mind opting out of this coming weekend at Langley and trying for the dates you mentioned in September. Should be a lot more relaxed at that time and perhaps more folks will be able to attend.

September would work better for us. Our 5-week old grandson is flying up from Phoenix this coming weekend just to be with us. Yes, he is bring mom and dad along. Sure beats overcrowded Langley.

roger, we are looking forward to langly but were not planning on staying the night. How about a clamming lesson on saturday instead and then tie up some where else for pot luck then head home after. the dock at the everret marina is allways open for short term tie ups. or the our side dock at the lanuch ramp. anyone else think of a good place for 3 hours or so.

OK then
I would like to change the date for this gathering to the 16-18 of September
Sorry to anyone who realy wanted to do this weekend.
hope to see you all on the 16th

Roger - that is going to catch some of us on our return from Desolation Sound - how about the week following?

I am not a miracle worker and have no influence on the tides. we have the minus tides the weekend of the 16th and so that is when we will be there if we want to clam dig.
You have fun up Canada way and we will have fun down here

Well if anyone is going to be around Langley this weekend, my wife and I are planning on spending the night there on Satudurday night.

We will be fishing Shipwreck area all day Saturday, spend the night at Langley that night, and then fish some on Sunday.

I'll monitor channel 16. My boat name is Hooligan.

Hey Roger. Where do you guys go clamming over there? I haven't clammed in that area.

It would be great to meet up for a cold beer if anyone is around.

Last year Langley was our first trip and first overnight with the new boat. Came straight from EQ and got there just in time to help finish off dinner. We enjoyed the food and had a good time. Then we spent 2 weeks in the Ilands.
We are going to Desolation this year and I doubt that we will be back in WA by the 16th but if we are we will try to make it.

Steve

Hi, Marty. Yeah, now I get to see first hand what all this GPS fuss is about.
But I'll still ring my bell and toot my little brass whistle, for old time's sake.
