09/10 - 9/12 - Sequim Bay CBGT 2010

Roger, Great! We'll look for you on the dock. We'll be there around 11:00 AM Friday to greet everyone. Stay safe on the water.

Roger

I am loaded and ready to head up there tomorrow afternoon. Had a little juggling to do with my schedule in order to make it. Our high school is having a multiyear class reunion, 59, 60, 61, & 62 this week and weekend. My brother from Texas came up here to go and wanted me to go also. I talked my sister and other brother into going with him so I could go to Sequim.

I will be there late Friday afternoon and have to leave early Sunday morning to meet my brothers and sister in Seattle for the last day of the reunion.

Karl,

We are looking forward to seeing you all. Should be lots of room. Sorry you missed out on the pizza, salad, crab, and campfire. BIS is showing decent weather, winds less than 10, and today the straits were glass flat, hope that holds for you tomorrow.

Here's an album for you lucky folks. Hope you had a perfect time, and I wish we could have made it.

I took a midnight cruise last night coming back home from an evening in Astoria. It reminded me of the times we launched late at John Wayne Marina and idled over the the park dock at Sequim Bay.

Hey Mike, We missed you. Good time at the dock today, and lots of friends at the pot luck. There was food left over, but no door prizes. Several of us had a ride in the new Marinaut 215, and it runs well. more about that on another thread. Should be some photos of it in our album when Dave gets to that.

Bill, sorry you didn't get back with us, hope the HA goes away.

Thanks all for coming, and for the good food and good friendship. You all are great.

Sorry Dana and I missed you all last night, but good to see a few of you Friday.

Now...git some photos up. Chop chop!

Just wanted to say thank-you to the organizers of yet another great Sequim C-Brats gathering. Thanks to Dave for taking us for a ride on the Marinaut. Well thought out design. And thanks to Greg and Cindie for letting us check out their Portland Pudgy. We will figure out a way for one to work for us on c-daisy. It was a pleasure meeting everyone.

Happy boating,

Karl and Crew

Thanks everyone who braved the elements to come to the Sequim Bay CBGT! It was great to have Dave (Oldgrowth) there with the Marinaut 215. :thup What a nice boat! Beautiful workmanship, nice handling and stability. We all enjoyed driving it around Sequim Bay. Best of luck to him and Ben Toland on this adventure.

Thanks to all the chefs who made the Pot-Luck a gourmet affair, Yum! We enjoyed having George (ghone) down from Nanaimo to give our event an international flavor.

We all enjoyed meeting new owners Mike and Jan and look forward to seeing their new CD-19 out on the water.

Always great to see Bill (DaNag) the C-Brat Nerd. Be careful on that bike Dude!

I know there were a lot of cameras there. Let's see some of those photos! :photo

Thank you so much Roger and Janet and Harvey and everyone who organized and contributed to a great event. Harvey went out of his way to pick me up and drive me about and have me stay at his house and get me a coffee in the morning as I didn't have US funds in my wallet?! What kinda nut leaves Canada without 10K in US money in his jeans? Thanks Harvey!!
I had a ball and loved meeting all the new folks. I'm glad to be a C Brat. Great food, lots of laughs and a ride in the Marinaut, thanks Dave and a demonstration of the auto pudgy loader. Full weekend. Thanks all, George

Whew, Finally home. Spent the afternoon helping a friend do a reroofing job on his house. Been a long time since I was on a ladder, or a roof and did anything like that. Bet I don't even feel it tomorrow though.

Sure glad we had such a good time this weekend. George, my pleasure to get to meet and host. You are welcome back anytime. Greg, Cindie, and Aven, Thanks for the most excellent demo on the Portland Pudgy retrieval system. That is still the greatest C-Dory accessory there is, and you have done it up well with your system. Pleasure to meet you all. Dan and Tanya, thanks for bringing the supplies down from Naniamo. You kind of ran under the radar there but you two helped with this CBGT too, Thank you. OG Dave, Thank you for the really fun boat ride. That M-215 is a very nice, responsive, and definitely a PNW boat. Wish you and Ben all the best there --Success in manegable increments. Mike and Jan, Great to have you aboard and hope to get to cross wakes with you somewhere soon. Karl and Amy, Thanks for coming and bringing the girls. Sure helps to bring the averaged age of the Brats down into the more youthful range. Enjoying the boat as a family will build memories that will last forever. Patty and Barry, Sure enjoyed breakfast with you folks. Hope that pancake made it home OK. Rick and Donna, nice to get to see you guys again -- Good cake and good times. Foggy Dew sure has some neat features. Paul and Verla, good to see you there and the lasagna was very good. And Roger and Janet, Thanks for all you did, and especially for bringing the Stars and Strips. Very fitting. And for spearheading another really fun Sequim Bay CBGT. Safe travels to all, and hope to get to do it again.

Patti and I enjoyed this CBGT greatly. It was nice to have a small group so we could spend time with everyone. As usual Roger and Janet, and Dan and Tonya, and the ever self effacing Harv, made it smooth, fun and well-run. We needed to burn some gas so went to Mystery Bay on the way home...Patti had never been there. A nice place to just relax. We are in the midst of pre-departure chaos so there will be less chaos on the road. Harvey, thanks very much for your route advice. We really appreciate it.

Take care all.

Really enjoyed seeing everybody even though it sadly marks - for us anyway - the last Gathering of 2010. Summer is over and fall seems to be firmly in control. Noticed many leaves changing color on the way over to Sequim.

Hope to see everybody again at the early 2011 Seattle Boat Show Gathering.

Special thanks to Roger and Janet and the rest of the Sequim crew (Harvey, Paul and Verla, Rich and Donna, and anybody else I am forgetting) for organizing the event.

Really nice to see C-Daisy's Kate and Kennedy and Aurelia's Aven; such nice kids being raised by great parents enjoying time on the water.

Stay safe on your journeys especially Barry and Patty as they head to Lake Powell and journey into full retirement (I am jealous!) and Roger and Janet if you can take the time and head to the South Sound.

Thanks for letting us spend time w/ all of you.

Dan & Tanya

Speaking of SBS 11, does anyone have the dates yet? Has the weekend for the gathering been selected? I've got a couple of free tickets to purchase (with miles) and have to get reservations early to be able to get a seat in someplace in the plane that doesn't have a little sink in it!!
