I just joined this group to LURK because I have no boat anymore...but may show up just to look at YOUR boats. Have not read the whole discussion here...but just FYI...if anyone is able to show up early, The Sidney Market happens on Thursday night from about 5:00 pm. Several blocks of the main street are closed to traffic and it is a fun evening...so if you arrive on Thursday...it's nice...

Hello all,
I am back from a great trip in Peru and back to spending some time organizing the gathering! We already have 10 boats signed in at the marina.
First of all, it seems that several people are scattered on A and B docks, but the group is supposed to be gathering on H dock as that is the only place they can be sure of getting us space together. It is a bit more of a walk to the office etc, but no further than at Friday Harbor.
Can those of you who have reserved on B dock, please change to H? I think it would be great if we can all be together.
If you plan to come and have not yet called in and booked a spot, please do so ASAP so that we can get a handle on numbers etc.

Just tried to change our slip from "B" to "H" dock. They had no record of our reservation then, aha, they discovered a misspelling of our boat name, then they had no idea we were part of a group reservation, etc. etc. I finally said just put us on "H" dock and we'll figure out the slip later. So...Maybe there is a way we could get a block of "H" dock slips in which we could make individual reservations. It'll all work out in the end but it is a little frustrating right now.
We have made our reservation at Sidney initially for Friday and Saturday, September 6 - 7th. As part of the C-Brats group, we were assigned Slip # H22.
The lady I dealt with at the Port Sidney Marina office was very friendly and seemed very efficient, so hopefully things will get squared up pretty quickly.
We will likely be heading northwards from Port Ludlow marina on Friday, August 30th and working our way towards Sidney. Regrettably, we will have to head southwards again (that darn work thing!) right after the CBGT so we will not have the good fortune of possibly hooking up w/ Daydream or anybody else who will be spending additional post-gathering cruise time in the area.
Looking forward to seeing everybody then! Hope to see a lot of you at La Conner this coming weekend!

Sorry to hear about your challenges. I was talking with Kristine who seemed to know what was going on - however, she may not have told everyone else!
I have asked her to keep a bunch of H spots for us. I will mention to Kristine (who I think is in charge) that people have been having trouble...

Oh well, it sounds like fun! Depending on my schedule, it's possible we might want to go to Ganges and Montague Harbour after the gathering. Or maybe go to the Ganges Farmers Market on Saturday. Plans are still up in the air.

I did notice that H dock is about as far as we can get from the Event tent which I have booked for Saturday night's pot luck!

Looking at the map I dont know why they did not just put us on M dock, inside of the main dock. Oh well I got on A dock so I'm covered. :wink:

I just phoned Christine at Sidney Marina. She is moving me from B dock to H dock. She did not give me a slip number, as she said she is going to juggle it so that we are all together, then get back to us with our designated slip numbers. How she is going to get back to us, I don't really know ?
But the main thing is, we will be all together on H dock.
Mike, next time you are talking to the marina. Could you find out what the marina are planning? Will we be given our own individual slip number or will they block off, say 20 slips together, and we just take one when we show up. It does seem a tad confusing that some of us have been given a specific slip number on H dock (but not me), yet she tells me that she is going to juggle it.
