We'll put it on the calendar. School's back in session then, but we might pull the kids...or just grab 'em an hour or so early.

Haven't been to Sidney yet in TLF!
 
Just signed up! Dee and I enjoyed Victoria for about a week aboard the Knotty C but never made it to Sydney. I'm really looking forward to it!

Hi Mike,

I am really looking forward to trying out "Fish on 5th". Reportedly to be the best fish and chips ever. A 5 block walk will really fire up the appetite and give us a chance to check out some of the town. If you incorporate this into your gathering itinery, you'll get no complaints from me.

After enjoying a wonderful gathering at Friday Harbor, I am now excited and looking forward to organizing a much more humble affair in Sidney!
If you have not already, please go ahead and register with Sidney Marina as that is the only way they will hold spots. we need to put use a credit card as deposit, but they have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

I have been in discussion with Port Sidney Marina (http://www.portsidney.com/), and they have indicated that they want us to call in to 250-655-3711 and make a reservation which requires a credit card. They have a 48 hour cancellation policy so there is no worries in that regard. Depending on how many we have, they will decide where to put us, but the earlier we are the better. So please go ahead and call in to let them know you would like to reserve a spot. (I don't seem to be able to reserve them for you!)

The group name is c-brats...

Their rates are $1.50 per foot (plus 5% tax now!) plus other charges as indicated at:

I am going to make more detailed plans after going to the Friday Harbour CBGT but at the moment we should definitely plan on:
Scott plastics tour if there is interest
Dinner and/or lunch at Fish on 5th
Visit to West Marine on Beacon ave?
Trip around some of the local islands (Sidney Spit? D'Arcy, Portland?)

Hi, C-Cakes just signed up for the Sidney/Vancouver gathering. We were told we were just the third boat to sign up. As there are 16 boats on the event signup list I'd really encourage folks to go ahead and pre register with the Sidney marina. That's the only way we'll be able to be together. They are putting us on B dock which is a close-in dock and much more desirable than the H dock we might be at if folks don't sign up in more numbers. :D
 
Nomad is in. I just pre-registered and got slip B-19. If you are planning on attending, let's do as Barry said, and phone in your reservation. We need to support Mike who is planning his first C-Dory gathering.

Blue Skies is signed up on A dock. Just arrived in Nanaimo from Saskatoon so am looking forward to getting Blue Skies out of storage, cleaned up etc. and finally launching again!

Is 'A' dock where you want to be? Looked to me like the gathering is planning to be on "B' dock. When I phoned in, Christina said where do you want to go? I said, with the rest of the C-Dory's, she said ok, B-19. Have I got it right Mike? Don't want to step on your planning toes.

Hi Martin. Thanks for the heads up. I just called Port Sidney and B dock is full so she has put us out on H which is at the far end, a bit of a journey. She has said there is more room out there for a group gathering so will be calling everyone to see if that works. I am okay with being that far out but not sure if everyone is. I would not give up your B spot until we get a few more commitments. It would be great to be all together but may not happen. If your around Mike, Your thoughts ??
 
Kerri On and crew are reserved for space. They put us at H-10. Looking forward to seeing you all. Aviation fans will want to visit the airport at Sidney for the museum. It is really nice. Last we heard they were working on a Spitfire restoration. Also Butchart Gardens is close and a great place to see. George
 
We have our slip assignment for the Vancouver island gathering! Daydream will be in H-14. We are thinking of a week or two in the Gulf Islands after the gathering - anybody else doing the same?
