This might have been discusses already, but if someone came from the US side and did not have Nexus Pass, would they need to stop in customs somewhere prior to arriving in Victoria?

If so, can the process for crossing be described.

RB, not that you should take it for granted but we've only had to use the phone each time we've checked in at Canadian customs. Just be sure to have your passport or enhanced drivers license, plus boat registration. Be sure to declare all fruits, vegetables, alcohol. In general, they'll allow small amounts of alcohol but pretty much no fresh fruits or vegetables. It's very important to declare same items on the return to US because they always come down to the dock and check out your boat.

All in all, pretty easy.

Stacy is using the excuse of the potluck to make rice crispy squares... We'll be driving up to Cap Sante tomorrow ...

I would have to put those in the "way back" for them to have any chance of making it to the gathering :smile

Does anybody know if there is a swimming pool nearby to the marina?

We would be traveling with a 4 and 6 year old and want to know what kiddie attractions might be within short walking distance to the boats.

Thanks,

You are more than welcome to drop some Rice Crispie Squares off at Birch Bay if you are concerned they are not sufficiently "substantial"! Seriously, whatever you bring will be FINE!

Never been to a gathering before. Stacy is using the excuse of the potluck to make rice crispy squares - are they OK or something more substantial?

We'll be driving up to Cap Sante tomorrow to spend the night in a guest slip before heading out for Victoria on Friday morning. Stop by if you're in the area and say hi.

Is the Pot luck Sat night??? Is it located on the docks or a number of boats?. I will be there Friday night on my Bike and stay from 3 to 6. Then I will be bringing C-Hawk over mid morning on Sat and staying the night on her.

Redbaronace,

We will be there with our 7 year old so you two will have an additional playmate.

Our daughter, Aven has enjoyed the playground at a nearby park, the IMAX theater, and the bug zoo. Pretty sure we will be hitting these over the weekend.

Also, she loves getting her net out while on the dock to see what she can catch.

Just back from a great 6 day paddling trip in the Nuchatlitz. I am still planning to come down town for the potluck Sat Eve. I hope to go to Port Alberni tomorrow to pick up Natural C-lection. I was having them do some work on it for me.

thanks to Dorothy of blue skies dinner at milestones was fantastic. Excellent food. they were able to see all 34 of us and the food came on time .....impressed.

now it's coffee and muffins on the dock and listening to some live jazz on the causeway. sunny day couldn't be better..

I haven't been on the C-Brat site in about 5 weeks. Way too long. Sure wish I could have made this trip, but it couldn't be this time. Sounds like you all are doing it right. Fish and chips and sunny days. Enjoy. Safe travels to all.

Had a great time at the Victoria gathering meeting new friends and old. Sunny and warm all weekend. Good food and calm seas going and coming. I finished off a plate of Stacy's crispy squares on the way home. Thank you. Also thanks to Susan and Tom for hosting. We will catch up with you all next time around

Super gathering. Well done Susan & Tom. I counted 17 C-Dory's and 1 guest boat. Great camaraderie. See you all next time.

Another great gathering in this great summer! Well done Susan and Tom.

Life doesn't get better than this; visiting with old and new friends, staying in a marina on our great little boat right in the middle of a beautiful city during a glorious summer. :teeth
