Greetings to all...

As the newest C-Dory dealer for Southern California, I would like to let everyone know that Catalina YAcht Anchorage is fully committed to supporting all aspects of this gathering in Catalina.

Welcome, Bob. You brought back fond memories. My first tour of duty was on a ship home ported at Port Hueneme and I remember clearly wanting to buy a lot behind the base on Sunset but it was way too pricey for a Navy seaman. $600  back when my pay was $95 every two weeks.

I suggest you send a private message to Bill, AKA Da Nag, or Mike, AKA TyBoo so they can set you up with a "Dealer" account on here.

One of these years I'm gonna get to that gathering.

Don

Alittle more info on our newest dealership in So. Cal. Catalina Yacht Brokerage has locations in Marina Del Rey, Channel Islands Harbor, and Ventura Harbor. Thus C-Dory is now well represented in the greater Los angeles area by a well financed, experienced company with deep roots in the L.A. area (Catalina Yachts are manufactured in the San Fernando Valley, not three miles from my house in Woodland Hills). Bob Nahm also manages a boat repair yard at Channel Islands Harbor which gives him access to all sorts of boat craftsmen, should we needs them. Also, all three locations are right on the water, making demo rides easy. You couldn't ask for a better dealer setup. Already delivered are a 255 TomCat, 25 C-Dory, a 19 C-Dory Angler, and a 22 Cruiser.

I'll be talking to Bob this week, officially inviting him to our Catalina Adventure Gathering, and discussing with him how he can add some support to make it better than ever. I'm sure, as a Catalina Yacht Broderage, he has alot of experience with events like ours.

SoCal C-Brats... Jeff's a teacher so he's free in July but starts school in August during our scheduled gathering. How about a mini gathering during the week of 4th of July? Pick your location... MDR guest dock, anchor at Paradise Cove, Avalon, the Isthmus, Cat Harbor... you name it. We have to initiate Jeff to the C-Brat cult with our secret ceremoney. What was our tatoo design?

Thanks for the consideration but please do not make a special get-together for me. Though I will be at work when you have the gathering I think I can run down to San Pedro Friday after work, launch, and at least say "hello" to everyone that evening or when they awake Saturday am then enjoy the day and get some fishing in too.
Hopefully I will see many of you this summer as I intend to be out on the ocean, and maybe Powell, Mead and such, the entire last half of June and the month of July. Coming back home on the week-end's, at most, to avoid the crowds....

Jeff

From Bob Nahm, manager of Catalina Yacht Brokerage and C-Dory dealer, I got the name of his man in Marina del Rey, Tim Braue. Tim is the point of contact for the Catalina Yacht gathering, and has some great ideas for our Catalina Adventure in Paradise. They will participate in a big way, but the details have yet to be worked out. He suggested things like fishing derby & seminar, customization seminars, and factory rep visit. He's going to toss it around a bit and get back to me with ideas. This will be the premiere event for Southern California C-Dory owners, so go to the sign-up list and add your names.
On another subject, I inspected an absolutely gorgeous Ranger 25 Tug today at the Channel Islands boatyard. The boat belongs to a couple out of Nevada, and is here for some gelcoat repair, etc. I guess the reason it's here is that Catalina Yacht Brokerage is now also a Ranger Tug dealer. In addition to Ventura, Channel Islands, and MDR, they have added a location in Dana Point, giving us excellent coverage for So. Cal. at last.

We were in Catalina this weekend and so was Wendy. She informed us that Christian graduates this week and the week of our gathering will be his "last hurrah" before college. God help our gathering and Two Harbors!

Mike-

Wanted to tell you that John and Robbin of Dinner Belle II will be joining us in Catalina this year. He will come down with me and Kath and go over on Monday and come back the following Saturday morning. I am posting this for him at his request because he has had difficulty accessing the site.

Sincerely,

Jim

Oh my, the pressure is really on now. It's payback time. As host, I'm really going to have to go some to match John & Robin's hospitality. They are going to love Catalina.

Time is just flying by.....almost time for Catalina. Let the fun begin!!

Some of us, as usual, will meet in Marina Del Rey on Sunday, 8/19 and head to Two Harbors, en masse, in the morning on Monday.

Monday night - Beach Barbecue - main course is on me, everyone else brings extras.
Tuesday - Kick back, get on "island time".
Wednesday - Fishing Tourney to Santa Barbara Island or......?
Thursday - Dingy Race, SCUBA, snorkling
Friday - Hiking, touring, resturant dinner in evening

Have been hoping for some dealer and factory participation, but am not holding my breath.

Mike,

Awesome....Islander is getting ready to roll. I have to do so a few odds and ends to the boat. Also call Brad to get it waxed...and we will be ready!!!!

Need to get a handle on how many boats and how many people will attend this year. It ssems that not everyone who is attending has signed up on the site's signup page, so check this list for your boat, and then post a reply as to how many people will be aboard and if you will be going over with us from Marina del Rey.

PJ and I will try to make it. (I have to schedule an accute attack of "island fever" or some other malady, maybe throw my back out at work)
If we do, we will cruise down from CIH on Sunday and be on the string when you all get there Monday.

So far it looks like 2 of us, my son and I. Not sure yet on staying overnight on Sunday and traveling with group on Monday, but will go over Monday for sure.
