Mark your calendars, Bellingham is Back II is set for August 19, 20 and 21, 2016! We again have P Dock reserved! I will see about getting an Event Signup going. PLEASE sign up, and (ahem) if you do sign up, please COME, or let us know as far in advance as possible that you won't be able to make it, since we plan the amounts to purchase for the Friday night pizza and the Sunday morning breakfast, once again provided by the Brats collectively!

Thanks for doing Bellingham again Pat & Patti! We look forward to seeing you and the other Brats in August but I also hope we will catch you in Friday Harbor or sooner too.

Sorry we won't see you at the SBS but I am sure you are thinking of us as you are suffering thru the warmth instead of the local rain and cold.

Stay safe and enjoy your fun in the sun.

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, & Hannah on Echo

I'd love to be there BUT it's mid August and there's still fish in the ocean (and the rivers). I'll be down by buoy 10 that week doing my best to reduce their numbers in the river and increase their numbers in my freezer. Have fun though and thanks for taking it on.

Bump!

You probably have seen that Ron on Meander has a Powell River CBGT planned for August 12, 13 and 14, the week before Bellingham is Back II. Canadian CBGTs are always fun, and this one has sparked a lot of interest.

We still want to have the Bellingham is Back II CBGT, but if people have to choose one or the other, and not do a two-fer, we really need an accurate count of how many people will be coming to Bellingham so if it turns out to be on the smallish side (which is fine) I can let the Port of Bellingham know and release part of P Dock, which right now is fully reserved for the CBGT sinced we filled it up last year.

So if you are planning to do Bellingham, please sign up on the Event Signup! I know August seems like a long time away, but it really helps the planning to have a realistic idea of how many boats will be coming!

Thanks!

Right now there are five other boats besides ourselves signed up for Bellingham is Back II, which is enough to have a (small) CBGT (remember Langley a couple of years ago?). Hopefully, a few more boats will sign up!

The other option is to ask the Port of Bellingham to move us to the following weekend, which would put two weeks between Powell River and Bellingham. Would that be better for anybody?

Pat, The following weekend would probably work better for me, but I'm only one and you've got 6 as set so don't change on my account.

It's still early so you could get more takers.

Pat;

We will be traveling back from Alaska beginning the 12th or so. If we make it down by then we'll sure be there. The weekend of the 26th would make that more possible for us.

Caryn and I just signed up for the Powell River CBGT and the Bellingham CBGT. It works better for us to have them back to back because we can stay out exploring the week between each gathering.

Relax my friend, it's still early and people are still putting their summer cruising calendar together. :wink

Count on Bambina again this year, Pat. Thanks for initiating this gig again and all that's involved. Hey, I'll volunteer to bring the quiz questions this year if you like. I've been practicing... How many number one hits did the Beatles have from '63 to '70?

By the way, last year's Bellingham weather was absolutely smashing! No wind for three days and sun just the way we like it--hot enough but not such that our noses and tails got burned. Really though, I came from Sidney Island that Friday morning across Haro Strait, and the water was snotty and naughty until about Sinclair Island. I figured Bellingham Bay naturally would be a witches cauldron of boils and spoiled desires. How wrong I was. I'd forgotten that Sir Patrick has the power to tame his bay.

Thanks for pulling this together, Pat & Patty.

We're hoping those gourmet eggs in a bag are on the menu again? We'll bring the herbs!

You bet, we are thinking pretty much of a re-run! Pizza Friday night, potluck on Saturday, hoping again for a factory tour, and then the famous omelettes in a bag and sweet rolls Sunday morning! Brock is doing the Trivia Quiz, but we MAY be a little skinny on prizes, since we gave away all our excess stuff last year!

Gene/tight lines

We, too (newbies John and Susan on Rossi 24) will be traveling back down from Alaska - if we make it that far north. Will watch for you en route (both ways?)

Pat - our plans are too weather-dependent to commit for now. We theoretically won't be returning to Bellingham until September, but you never know. Have never been on a 5 month trip before.

See some of you at Friday Harbor meet up.

Susan

How many of you guys are going to the one and only annual Canadian gathering in Powell River, BC, the week before the Bellingham party?
From Powell River to Bellingham is all down hill on my chart and takes approx 9 hours running time. Easily done over two days and one over nighter.

Martin.
