I am not sure if the Oski crew will be able to make this year's event. We had an excellent weather window this week and took some time off work to cross a few more California islands off of the bucket list.

We hit Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Catalina in 6 days.

The weather at San Miguel was epic, as you can see in the video. We checked in with the park ranger on the island who said this was the nicest day he had seen all year.

Have a great time in Catalina, if we are able to make it out there, it would probably not be until Friday or Saturday. Enjoy the trip!

Hello Jim, Kath, et-al;
Please sign-up C-Casa, I might end-up single-handling it, bringing the cheese and crackers and perhaps other goodies. Eileen is having back problems and doesn't want to push it, but has given me permission to go...
At this point I haven't decided to travel along with you (Islander) Saturday to MDR or Sunday with C-Hawk and others from Channel Islands Basin to Two Harbors.
Regardless, count on me, and feel free to let me know if you need me to bring anything else.
Looking forward to it...!!!
Pedro

Dear All:

We have a few more attendance up-dates. John and Robbin had to drop out this year due to work commitments. Tim and family also had to bow out for this year. Pedro of C-Casa will now be joining us. Floyd and Eiko are now bringing their in-laws along.

Again, we ask, are the two vessels Happy Hut and Helen Pauline still coming to this event? If so, please confirm your attendance.

Below is the current updated list of attendees and food volunteers. We still have anywhere from 9 to 11 vessels, and anywhere from 20 to 25 folks in attendance.

1. Islander - Ron and Natalie and Jim and Kath - Steaks or Tri-Tip
2. Sealife - Mike, Jake, and Muffin - Garlic Toast and Aluminum Foil
3. SEA3PO - Joel and Susan - Orzo Pasta Salad
4. Marcia Jane - Ken and Marcia - Ice Cream and Cookies
5. Dora Jean - Steve, et. al.
6. Far C’r - Floyd and Eiko and Sister and Brother-in- Law - Corn and Aluminum Foil
7. C-Hawk - Roger and PJ - Green Salad
8. C-Pup - Keith
9.C-Casa – Pedro – Cheese and Crackers
10. Happy Hut – Thompson, et. al. ?
11. Helen Pauline – Dan, et. al. ?

Food contributions look good. We could still use a few more food volunteers though for baking potatoes and aluminum foil; and potato salad.

Thank you all for your participation.
Jim and Kath

Well I too have run into a few snags, but still trying to make it there. Just got back from a 7 day trip (and vac from work) to pick up relatives in Reno (relatives are from Virginia) and do some camping. Now they are at our house with more get-togethers and leave August 3rd. This is putting a big crimp on the time I have to fix a disc brake and some regular maintenance on the outboards. This is why I haven't committed to a food dish quite yet.

Here's hoping for the best...!

Yes, the Happy Hut will be there. I'm going solo out of Huntington Harbor on Sunday. I'm not that good at potlatchs but maybe I can take a crack at potato duty. Let me know if anybody needs anything else. Looking forward to relaxing ...

Dear All:

This message is our final Offshore Adventure update providing a few more changes. Below is the final list of attendees and food volunteers.

3. SEA3PO - Joel and Susan - Orzo Pasta Salad
4. Marcia Jane - Ken and Marcia - Ice Cream and Cookies
5. Far C’r - Floyd and Eiko with Sister and Brother-in- Law - Corn and Aluminum Foil
6. C-Hawk - Roger and PJ - Green Salad
7. C-Pup - Keith
8. Happy Hut – Thompson – Potatoes and Aluminum Foil.

We have eight vessels, with approximately 18 to 20 persons, for the Monday evening pot luck on the beach of Two Harbors. Pedro, of C-Casa will now not be joining us until Friday of next week because of his work commitments. Steve, of Dora Jean is still not sure of his schedule because of family commitments.

Thank you all for your participation. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday at Two Harbors.

For anyone who wants to join up with us, we will be at Marina Del Ray Sunday late afternoon. All are welcome to come with us for dinner at a nearby local restaurant.

Best,
Jim and Kath

We will be leaving from Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday morning, leaving at 0800, cruising straight to Two Harbors. This is a 4 hour, 65 mile trip. We will have lunch and buffalo milk on the Island.
We will be on "Island Time" and waiting for the others to arrive on Monday.
The armada from Channel Islands will consist of;
C-Hawk
SEA3PO
Sealife

Thanks Roger for the update. You and your contingent will be getting on Island time 24 hours before us! That was a smart move. We will see you all Monday, mid-morning.

Best,
Jim & Kath

Things are looking UP! Unless a major catastrophe occurs, Dora Jean will be there Monday morning. I still have the trailer brakes and maintenance on 3 engines (dinghy engine included), but I now have a handle on them. I'll work on the potato salad, my wife has an excellent recipe (she won't be able to make this trip -- working).

Just wanted to let the fleet to know that Eiko and I will be a few days late coming to the gathering. Just got back from the ER for lower intestinal pain and will be on antibiotics and a liquid diet for a few days. We are hoping that I will be feeling better by wed or Thurs and will be able to head over. Sorry about the lack of corn, if someone else could bring it for the group that would be great.

Hey Floyd... I was thing of going on a liquid diet too ! The bar out there makes something called Buffalo Milk that will fix you up...Should also cure any sort of intestinal problem.

Joel

So, the fleet leaves Monday morning from MdR. I'll join you to cross over. The complicated goings on I have on Sunday probably means Kimiko and I will only greet you at the boat ramp dock on Sunday. She will sit in C-Puup at the boat ramp while I go home with my car and trailer, and return with her car. I'll anchor at Balona Creek outside the Marina to the left exit, so toot your horns as you pass by Monday morning to get me to pull anchor and join you. Channel 68?

BTW, I have no bulkhead door to lock when I leave the boat. I don't want to leave my treasure chest un-manned at the MdR guest dock.

Also, my cell phone is 213-700-0080. It seems to work all the way across the channel to Catalina.

Looking forward to seeing how you've all aged... beautifully, Im sure. Am I still the baby of the group?

Dear All:

We at the last minute have slightly revised our plans to go directly to Two Harbors from Channel Islands Marina on Sunday at mid-morning. We now will not be going to MDR on Sunday.

Keith, sorry for the last minute change. Thanks for bringing the corn!

We have 20 nice prime steaks for our Monday night BBQ. See you all over at the Island!

Jim & Kath with Ron & Natalie
