  Will pre-cook food for ride to gathering..... Yea, that will fit on a pice of cardboard.. :crook :D OK... I am slow...being from the south and all... but the light bulb has came on.. :idea :idea The word island brought a sudden mental picture to my mind... ALONG WITH SOME VERY NICE HINTS... Tyboo... so far you are on for the ride... Roger on Sensi has offered overnight at his house on Thursday night...and I am not sure when he plans their trip to the island... Tom, STARCRAFTOM.. sent me his cell phone and I will give him a ring tommorow evening.... and I think someone else sent me a real email.... (that Mr. Earthlink did away with during software upgrade...and I am responsible for not printing that one out)... but they made the offer for me to bunk down on their vessel due to them traveling alone.. So, all is not locked in, but should be able to be worked out. . Looking at my trusty just purchased in Jan05 "A Cruising Guide To Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands....2nd edition no less...that I picked up at the Seattle boat show and Factory Gathering visit... I see and understand after a very brief study... Forgive me, but my mental picture was sort of like Hilton Head Island with the private places/properties, or Ono Island on the Gulf Coast near Perdido, AL.. You just have to check in ahead and get a pass for your vehicle... But, looking at this... that does not appear to be the case. I truly appreciate the messages bringing my attention to the facts.

SO>>> TYBOO... just like your offer, please count me in...or on.. for a lift to the island... unless others kick in...especially the vessel that will house another owner in the slips... Yes, I have slept in a boat chair, on the docks, hanging in a hamock between fence post...but truly would prefer a berth... grin.
Byrdman...really looking forward to some responses...

Hey ,Don't fret there Byrdman... you will definitely get there with one or 2 or 3 of us... heck we gotta get ya there... If all else fails just Tell Roger 8) , ya wanna take Sensei out for a spin ...hehehehh... nothin' like a little piracy to spice things up

Byrdman, You're welcome aboard the TyBoo but I have a favor to ask from one Southern to another...... Could you possibly bring some Southern ripen tomatoes with you????? I've not had a good tomato in 14 years other than the suitcase full my sister brought to me from Arkansas 5 or 6 yrs. ago. This Northern climate just can't grow good tasting tomatoes and the greenhouse kind from the stores are even worse. If needed, we can bring along a sleeping bag and tent for ya too.

Now, if'un you cain't git yourn hands on sum of dem Alabamy da'maters, you's still a welcome aboard. I've just had a hanker'in for dem maters lately.
Kay, hubby, kids and dawgs.

And Byrdman - you just watch. From about half way across the strait on through the weekend, my wife will be talkin' funny just like you. And if somwhere in there she calls her moma on the phone, me and the kids won't understand a durn thing she says for two days.

I've kinda been following this thread and remember hearing some talk about Norma saying there were 30 some C-Dories signed up for slips but when I look at the sign-up sheet er thread I don't count that many. Are some folks taking two boats to this gig? If so maybe someone will lone the aft deck of their spare out to the Byrdman, that is if it includes canvas.

Really though, what is the count for this gathering?

Tim

Going up to Nashville to make final coordination with the BBQ folks. Be back on line either sometime around or after 4th of July, prior to heading the HH, SC for a wedding. Then, up/inbound to Seattle/Blakely... Well, now I gotta go for now...looking at these post... I have to go dig up some tomatoes to ensure passage to the docks... Will show up with cooler full of BBQ, and rucksack w/clothes... Ol Uncle Sam has sent me places much wilder than this...and they did not even want you to talk or make any noise.... and... the greeting commity was not near as friendly, or their rides near as nice... See Yall soon. Gone digging. :D :D .
Byrdman

Blakely was our last stop of a three week cruise last Sept. Looking at the picture sure makes me want to go! But I will be going to Desolation - just a couple more months - 8 weeks!

Plans changed, can't make Blake this year. Got a better offer. Yep, she's brunette, firm, frisky, fun, fresh and friendly.

Actually, Mark wouldn't like it if I called him any of those things. Well, maybe friendly. A pal since junior high, he's in town for a wedding that weekend and made vigorous appeals for a domesticated Cat. Dang! Why then? I called the bride, she hung up. Still, it's an opportunity for a buddy to see his son, save some non-disposable income, reconnect with his roots, see other friends, drain a few and barby-Q.

Slip A-8 is now taking reservations, and you'll be sharing same with a most delightful, gentle couple. Just save me some french fries, and have a fabulous time, everyone.

Well Brock, danged sorry to learn you will not be at Blakely as planned. Brave Heart was eagerly looking forward to sharing A8 with Bambina. Your upbeat outlook and vital contribution to this and every C-Brat event will be sorely missed. It has not gone unnoticed that you, Brock, never fail to visit with everyone present and especially make new Brats feel welcome. Hope you enjoy your visit with your old buddy. Hey, why not bring him along maybe?

Well said. Very well said, indeed.

I'll second that. Brock, you will be missed. :sad

Mike/Kay & Skipper/Tyboo folks: Please send me PM or email with cell phone and best guess or where/when I can meet yall on Friday sometime... Roger/Sensi has not returned emails or seen postings...so I need to plan to hitch a ride from ya to/from the islands. Renting car @ SETAC Thursday, and if Sensi pops back online and the offer to stay at his home is still good for Thursday night, that is what I'll do.. If not, I'll find a hotel somewhere near a ramp/business/dock that you want me to meet you guys (northen talk for "yall") ... I understand the courts are going to run your schedule... but tell me when/where and I'll be there. Please keep in mind I'll have to leave a rental car parked. Is EQ Marine/Les' place in route? I've been there...

Mr. Byrd - If our big plan comes together as planned, we will get to Cornet Bay on Thursday sometime, and stay the night at the Deception Pass Marina. If you have a good arm, you could hit Les' place with a rock from there. I am sure you have seen the place before. When you took the sea trial on FreeByrd with Les, you probably drove right by it on your way to the ramp. Pretty good chance that if you provide Dundee with something good to eat or drink, you'll be able to leave your car in the marina store lot for the weekend.

I did a quick check of the tides, and the mornings look pretty mild for D Pass all weekend (Dusty will verify, please), so getting out to Rosario should be a snap Friday morning. My radar went haywire, and the kid sold it on eBay, so if it is pea soup, we ain't crossing until it clears some. But the times I have seen it foggy, it always lifted before noon. If memory serves, Blakely is a pleasant and easy cruise from D Pass if the water is decent.

I have a feeling we will have some company on the way over, though. Always seems to happen. Shoot, one time I mentioned that I was towing the boat up to leave at Les' shop and we had a pretty fair sized CBGT right there in the marina. In the middle of November, no less.

I'll PM you them cell phone numbers.

Sounds like a plan. I will email Les and Kathy and let them know about a strange vehicle... and bring gift for the dogs too. Now.. the Dundee part..throws me a bit... Is that Les...or someone at the marina at DP? I will stay in hotel somewhere between SEATAC and DP Marina area as to allow me to be at the docks around 730-800am on Friday morning. Thanks Gang and truly looking forward to seeing these waters. Les had FreeByrd, or Dusty had C-Salt in a slip in the marina I feel sure we are talking about. Still have directions and GPS locations plugged in my Garmin 76S to both. Heading to the lake to watch 4th of Jul fireworks, then pull FreeByrd Tuesday ...clean and head to wedding party in Hilton Head 6-9Jul, return FreeByrd to Lake Martin on the 10th. Sleep the 11th, go to Nashville on the 12th to cook BBQ, pack BBQ on 13th, fly out early morning 14th.

Got your phone numbers Mike/Tyboo. Hope to see you there!

Helen O': Looks as if Tyboo and you may venture over to the island together Friday. In the event something happens to Mike/Tyboo and he is prevented from making the trip, would it be possible to throw me, a 50qt cooler on board for a crossing up to the island?

Any others overnighting at Deseption Pass Marina Thursday night?

No problem, Byrdman. We gotcha covered. It might be a good idea to plan on riding over with us anyhow. There's just Helen and me in our boat.

Thanks Larry! I will now plan to carry two coolers... One will be full of BBQ, and I will need the other for a beverage or two and some other little hold me overs. This plane ride to a boat trip is a little differant... but will be fun. Like Tyboo said...I bet before all is said and done, more than 2 boats will depart from Deception Pass Marina on Friday too. Please send me cell phone numbers on PM please. I may see you at the dock Thursday evening/late afternoon. I really want to go buy the plant and take a look at what ever the current status of the TC255 is or will be, have a friend @ Ft. Lewis I have not seen in several months, then head up to Deception Pass area. Not sure what time flight will land...but I think I recall I leave Nashville around 630am, and get to SEATAC about 2 hours local time around 830am...due to the time changes from east to west. My fun meter is starting to jump... I have contacted a friend on the AL/FL line for some fresh tomatos as requested. I'll pack what I can if we can get a good hook up on Monday or Tuesday prior to departure from Montgomery.
