07/15 - 07/17 - Bellingham C-Brat Gathering

As we did last year, we are borrowing "Tootsie Cat" from a friend. TC is in Elfin Cove now. We will deliver Tootsie Cat to Ketchikan, put her on the barge headed south then we will fly home. How lucky are we?!!! Dawson has to stay home this trip. Pictures will be posted. Will any brats be up that way in August? Juneau and points west (Hoonah, Elfin Cove, Glacier Bay, POW Island). See you on the water...can't wait!!!!

OMG. What have we just signed up for  There goes another liver :beer :beer

I've always been told livers are over-rated. :disgust

I told my wife "that's why we have two of them!". My microbiologist bride reminded me that we have TWO Kidneys but only ONE liver. Too bad..

The Bellingham Gathering is finally getting real close! We are really looking forward to seeing Ruth and Joe and everybody else who will be planning to attend this wonderful get together.

I certainly would not be too disappointed if summer (or at least the supposedly summer time nicer weather) finally decided to arrive next week!

Does anybody plan on using the Bellingham Gathering as a kick off to some cruising during the week of 7/17 thru 7/23?

Tanya, Hannah (our adopted mixed breed 'Husky'), and I will be taking the week after Bellingham as vacation and staying on the water.

No real definitive plans or destination. We will have our passports since we are leaning towards heading into Canadian waters or can just hang around the San Juans.

Chances are we will spend most evenings in a marina - as opposed to anchoring out - to make Hannah's 1st extended boating trip more enjoyable for her.

Anyway, if there are any fellow C-Brats that will be staying out that week on the water let us know unless you will be needing some post-Gathering time alone.

Take care,
Dan

Dan, Glad to see you and Tanya and Hannah are going for the week. Good for you. Must mean the arch and it's trials are abaft the beam.

Sorry, I will not be there on the water this year -- again--. Just scheduled a 12 hour daytime sleep test on Friday, and working Sunday night that weekend so IF I get to come it will be a drive up day. Sure don't want to miss out seeing you all.

Ken who is # 11 c-brat is a charter captain for Eagle Charters in Elfin Cove. We visited him there in 2009 and had dinner with him and Marge before he left this season. He usually captains the Noble Eagle. If you see him tell him Don and Dee said hi. If you see Larry and Nancy, brats # 37 on the Jacari Maru (37 foot Puget Trawler) say hello for us too.

We are looking forward to the Bellingham gathering this year and plan on heading over to the San Juans and Gulf Islands for a week or so. So to answer Dan's question, yes we are going to be in the area and look forward to meeting you Tanya and Hannah. Is anyone else planning on heading over to the islands after the gathering?

Don and Dee

Another few days to go!! Anxiously looking forward to heading to Bellingham.

Don't want to jinx it, but it almost appears the weather is starting to look better going forward.

Warren and Lori..... Great to hear you are safely back from the Broughtons and planning on going to Bellingham.

Don and Dee on Knotty-C..... Wonderful to hear you guys will be heading up for some cruising afterwards! Checked out some pictures in your album (sorry we never set one up) and we are both sure we met Dee most likely at one of the Boat Show Gatherings.

Take care everybody and travel safely!

Does anybody have use for a couple of these?

http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _photo.php

They are the 8.5x26 size and we really have too many fenders. No charge but if you feel guilty you can donate a few bucks to the C-brat tip jar or website. I can bring them to the gathering so if you want them so let me know.

Also we have a couple of these little adjustable fender clips (used once) that I didn't really like so those need a home too. I will have them on the boat this weekend for someone else to take home.

Seeing Aurelia (Greg's) post about bringing some parts to the B'Ham CBGT reminded me that this is something I've forgotten to mention...If you have some excess boat parts that you'd like to sell, trade or just give away, bring them with you.

Kudos to the guys at Triton :thup They've donated some more vests and C-Dory mats. Hope that they'll be able to attend sometime during the weekend.

Russ at the BHam West Marine was more than generous for the Friday Harbor CBGT and has offered to donate some items for the B'Ham CBGT :thup

Mike at Pacific Marine Exchange is offering 10% off coupons for purchases this month :thup It's quite an experience going through his store and don't forget to go downstairs. You can also place your boat parts with Mike on consignment.

On a different note, it's just amazing how these CBGT's grow.....go to run an errand and return to the dock to find two or three CBrats have arrived.....We're gonna have fun this weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I left some items with him for resale and they got "lost". I might buy stuff from him but probably will not sell through him again.

Warren, So sorry to read that your parts were lost. I know that we've left many items there and so has our son. Took a while for the parts to sell but that was okay with us. The parts were out of our house and we didn't have to mess with them. Collecting the checks was the best part. He does have a new computer system now. Maybe you could check with him to see if your lost parts have been found. If you have your receipt, that might help?

Have fun & travel safely. We will sadly not be in attendance. M's work/school schedule has made her "free" time non-existant this summer. :( She's been out on the boat ONCE.

On a positive note, this summer is her last semester EVER. She will receive her BSN (Bachelor's in Science Nursing {not bulls**t in Nursing< JD}  ) as of August 9th! FINALLY!!!!

Soon as I get home form w0rk today we are heading to Birch Bay, dropping the boat off at Triton for a little job (I HOPE a little job), and hoping to get in the water while we can still get a spot on P Dock!
