I just paid the bill for the trim tab motors that were replaced ($560).
Steve, thanks for the reminder to save the good motor as a spare, just in case.
One item down and now for the AC to be serviced. I think it still works (from last year), but is has only had the strainer cleaned yearly and as needed since the fall of 2004.
I'm adding a freshwater flush valve so I can operate the AC while on a work rack, for testing, and to run SaltAway thru all the plumbing, if needed. The strainer is the easiest part to service.
I hope the temps will not be in the 90s because ithey will take me down fast if I'm out in it for any length of time. Boy, I guess "getting old is not for 'sissie' ", as my mother-in-law used to say. Now I understand why.
Jan and I are going to give this a try and set the reservations as soon as I get a work date from the service folks if the temps appear to be favorable.
If it does not work out, I hope to make the run to Smithfield to see everyone and return to base (40NMs each way).
I guess this why I like the fall cruises best. Don't give up on us, yet.
