06/12 - 06/14 - Langley, WA, Cruise

Hey Pat- Saturday after tying up at the marina in Everett I rushed over to the ramp just in time to watch the beautifully polished perfectly balanced Crabby Lou pull out into the channel. (I had a 55 Chevy Bel Air that color a long time ago!) Sorry about the air mattress. I know you'll be happy to hear how well rested I was on the cruiser mattress. Just kidding. It was a truly wonderful get together, As we used to say in NJ, "C-Dorys and C-Brats, Perfect together" :love
PS The view overlooking Saratoga Passage is awe inspiring.

Many thanks to Brock for everything! No sprinkles like he'd promised, thank goodness! Rick, the harbormaster was fantastic. As usual, good eats, great companship and just a wonderful time.

We had a great time, too! It was nice to see more people show up than expected. I've been told by SWMBO that Langley is a place we have to visit again; something about quaint shops and stimulus spending.

Now onto the Warrenton CBGT in two weeks. :)

Should have checked my spelling before I sent this but you all know what I mean....great companionship, each and every one of you! Patty, sorry to read about the air mattress. Marty, those cucumbers were just delicious. How about a recipe.

Oh, Tyboo or DaNag, a photo album please for Langley. Thanks

Well, I am sorry I missed this week-end. I was intending to be there until I was asked to instruct a 2 day twin engine power boat class. The week-end was great, Got paid for it and even got $70 in tips from the three. I was commended on how calm I was during some of the docking excercises. I remember the mussels and clam beach from three years or so ago.

I will see some of you at the Bellingham CBGT, maybe just overnight on Saturday. Kate,,, yes, Kate will be with me for the Nanaimo week-end. Kitty too. So Brock, Nikko expects you to say hi.

It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks to all! Sorry I missed everyone this morning, but it was about a 70 mile return trip, so I got going about 6. Watched Ruth and Joe, and Fred sneak out about 5:10 am. Beautiful morning.
My air mattress! Oh no, that was a special one! How can you ever find a replacement? I guess you will have to wait for another "blue light special", it must have cost $1.98. If you subtract the value of the mussels and the beer, I owe you about $ 38.98. Let's call it even  .
I am a bit tired tonight, so pictures will be posted tomorrow.

Nice one Brock!

What a great time. Joe, Ruth and I left a day early and stayed at Cornet Bay. Had a nice visit with Les and got to see their new 26' Tolly.
Great food, friendship and weather if you do not count the wind. I will not be tying up on the inside of C dock again. I was bounced around till after 0200 with little sleep.
I had to be to work in Seattle on Sunday at 1300. I did leave at 0510 so I could make it, I am not sure what Joe and Ruth excuse was but we had a nice cruise back to Twin Bridges.
Brock did a supurb job and am looking forward to his next gathering.

Caryn and I had a great time at this small intimate gathering. Our ride down Friday afternoon was a little lumpy going down Saratoga Passage but C-Dancer always handles like a champ. (knock on wood :wink ) It was great meeting new friends and seeing old friends once again.

It was fun watching all the boats being crammed into that little marina, it made for great entertainment. Here's hoping this historically significant CBGT continues on into the future. Great time!!!

Thank you Brock for hosting this shindig. We couldn't have asked for better weather and a better host. And thanks Pat & Patty for those wonderful mussels.

Baxter and I were up about 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning and watched Ruth and Joe pull out, I don't think they saw us wave...

Anyway, da pix are posted! I can send anybody the hi-res version if desired. I especially like the one of Robbin and her mom.

Yes, the mussels were something! I should have taken a picture at the beach gathering them, and then Steve, Cindy and Patty de-bearding the little rascals. But the best picture would have been in the steaming bowls! To quoate Rachel Ray "Yummo!"

This is what being a C-Brat is really all about!

Thanks to the Friday Night crowd for the noisy welcome :cake

It was great to see ya'll supporting the efforts of our local marina and having fun.
Sorry we could not make it back on Saturday for the pot luck as intended but I guess I overdid it a bit on Friday.

Looks like you did everything except get arrested.

If you liked the improvements, please let the marina know. There has been intense local "discussion" on the topic and support always helps. It's a work in progress but at least it is going in the right direction.

Pat, sorry we missed your goodbye wave. Too busy concentrating on what we might back into on our way out of that area.

Many thanks to you, Patty, Steve & Cindy for going out & getting those mussels. They were certainly enjoyed by many C-Brats at the Saturday pot luck. What a nice treat :thup

Man, wasn't that fun? And the weather cooperated pretty darn well, except for Friday's wind and an absence of rain.

I'm glad you all could make this year's (now) Annual Langley Liaison, a nearby loungefest tailored to meet the diverse needs of Brat slackers, drinkers, beachcombers, shoppers, munchers and yakkers.

I'm happy to have met Gizmo's Steve and Cindy and Dan and Tanya aboard C-Renity. Thanks to all for your participation, food, energy and convivial weekend company. Marty, Pat and Patti, I really enjoyed cruising and talking with you. Peter and Caryn, you make fine dinnermates, and you arrived right on time. Robbi, you're quite a character, girlfriend, bonkin' me on the head like that with large chunks of ice. I bet sweet Ruth and Joe wouldn't do that. They give me muffins. And mugs. I enjoyed seeing Roger and Janet, who tied up on the windy side without complaint. As did Barry and Pollyanna, and Fred, my favorite Socialist. Laurna Jo, Merv and Kathy, and all y'all, thanks for great big fun.

Lastly, whatever I put into this event was returned many times over. I find life is like that. Especially Brat Life. I'm left with warm weekend memories.

One more thing. Harbormaster Rick Brewer, who really enjoyed having us and would like to make this a yearly gig, wants to know how we liked our stay and what he might do to make things more enjoyable.

Brock,

I sent a letter to the editor of the South Whidbey Times detailing what a good time we had, noting the many dinners, etc, we bought, and giving a big thanks to Rick by name. They responded with appreciation for the letter. Apparently there is the usual naysaying going on about the harbor expansion.
