06/08 - 06/10 - "O2O" North Carolina Happening

******

Karan and I had planned to be in Ocracoke on Friday
to check out the facilities,
but due to a death in the family,
we will be travelling to Ottawa, Canada
and do not expect to be back in NC for a couple of weeks.

I just talked to Bill Gilbert (Cell-252-921-0116)
at the Anchor Inn Marina. (Marina-252-928-6661).

>>>IMPORTANT<<<

Bill said he now has a waiting list for marina slips that weekend,
so he needs to release the remaining nine C-Dory slips I had reserved, because,
as of now, only three of us have signed up and reserved a slip.

HE Will Release The C-Dory Slips
That Have NOT Been Reserved
prior to *** May 15, 2012. ***

I should also mention that the Inn & Marina are strict in the use of their showers and pool for ""registered guests only.""

Note: the slips at the puiblic docks are on a first come bases.
There might not be any available when we arrive
in Ocracoke that Friday afternoon.

I will be checking my e-mail and the C-Brats web site while we are on the road.

Bill and Karan,

Sorry for the loss for you family. Travel safe. Ernie reserved our slip today. See you in June. Looking forward to the trip.

Oriental 2 Ocracoke 2 Oriental

--Rendezvous would be the NC Wildlife Ramp in Oriental, NC

We'll probably spend the night before in Club Foot Creek. Do you want us to "mill around" next to the ramp? What happens at the "rendezvous"?

I won't be returning from Africa until late in the evening on the 9th of June. I am missing all my normal early summer events this year due to travel (Carolina Loop, this, Nature Conservancy eel grass restoration)

Hope you all have a great time and can't wait to see pictures.

Hey TIVO........so sorry you can not make the outing to Ocracoke.
Karan and I were looking forward to renewing friendship with both you and Joey.
Let us know if your are going to be in our area.
Travel safe........time zone changes are tough.

I have ordered a special use permit for each person that wants to leave their vehicle and boat trailer at the Oriental NC Wildlife Resources boat ramp.
I will bring enough copies of these permits
for each vehicle that wants to leave it at the ramp area.

Maybe next year?!

So sorry Kathryn that there is a schedule conflict
but
enjoy every minute with all the family.
Have loads of fun.

Just found out that the NC Cedar Island ferries
expect to enter the Ocracoke Big Foot Channel
on June the 8th at approximately
one hour and ten minutes after departure from Cedar Island.
They travel at about 12mph.

This is a good way to follow the ferry
in the channel into Silver Lake.
We could time our departure from Oriental appropriately.
We would then have a good GPS track
available when leaving Ocracoke.

That day a ferry will--
leave Cedar at: 10:00AM arrive at 14BF Marker at 11:10AM
leave at 11:00AM arrive at 12:10PM
leave at 1:00PM arrive at 2:10PM
leave at 4:00PM arrive at 5:10PM

Also, the NC Swan Quarter ferries will be arriving and departing
this same channel.

With good weather this should be a fun weekend for C-Dory's.

Karan and I plan to be down on Lady KC
in New Bern, NC on Wednesday evening, June 6.

We will then move the boat to
The Oriental Marina & Motel on Thursday.

I will have the "NC Wildlife Special Use Permits"
with us for those who will be launching their C-Dory's
from the Oriental facility.

Note--our phone number (910-295-2034)
will be forwarded on board to Karan's cell phone.

I should mention that we have Friday evening dinner reservations at the Dajio restaurant,
just a short walk from the Anchor Inn & marina.

Remember to pack your swim suits
for lounging around the marina pool.

I also hope some of us might be able to get in some fishing.

See you all very soon in Oriental, NC.
