06/04 - 06/06 - Chesapeake Bay CBGT

Hi Charlie, et all;
I have been waiting in the wings to see how my timing was going to
work. I have been scheduled for a heart stress test the 8th and will
not be able to make the run this year. :(

It is a shame because I have "somewhat" finished with the "major"
projects on Sea Angel. The last one was a windshield washer setup
with intermit' controlled wipers. All the electronic toys are working great
and I should not get too lost if I just follow the little highways on the maps.

May you all have a safe and wonderous gathering. I'm looking forward to
all the pixs and sea stories.

Hi Art, I missed last year for the very same reason, stress test. This year it is a graduation (oldest granddaughter). Glad all your goodies are working. Hope to meet up with you again soon, let us know the outcome of the test, we've got our fingers crossed for you.

Charlie

Thanks Charlie;
I will study very hard for the test and hope my legs and feet will do better
walking. Shame they don't use a bike for the testing.

If you get down south anytime soon, be sure to look me up. If timing is
right we can take a spin around Lynnhaven Bay area .

:D Looks like I get to attend, my boss said today that my travel will be delayed :D Now I am just hoping for lots of :hot this year. I am hoping all this cold and rainy weather we are having this week is winter's last hurrah.

I'd vote for cold and rainy rather than the 105degree temps we had a few years ago. Sally spent the day (saturday) in the cockpit with her feet in a bucket! As long as it's not too rough. Are you coming all the way by boat Tivo? Glad you can make it.

As a reminder, this is the last day for t-shirt orders. Dick of Naptime must submit our order early tomorrow. I still have not heard from Joe and Tina on SOAPY JOE or Dan and Judy on TRUE LOVE. Don't know if they are even coming, although they both signed up.

Charlie

The t-shirt order has been sent to Dick on Naptime. I got Dan and Judy's order at the last minute and have included that. The only one missing is Joe and Tina on SOAPY JOE. Am a little worried about them as we have not heard in some time.

Charlie

Not all the way in the boat, I will be trailering it up. The van, "LND TUG" will pull "Litl Tug". If I had more leave time, I would, I don't think the trip is outside the realm of possibility for a future gathering if I can piece together the time off.

I have posted the "final" attendance list in the documents section. Only 13 boats this year, very much down from our peak. We will have a Ranger 29 and a new 21EC there however, should be interesting.

Also, 3- 25 Cruisers, 5- 22's and 3-16's.

Charlie

Good news Tivo! Glad to hear you will be with us. Have a safe trip North.

Won't be long til June 4th.

We have had some cancellations but that always happens.

If YOU have been thinking about attending our gathering but haven't made up your mind, think again about joining us. We always have a good time talking about our C-Dorys.

We made a trip down to Rock Hall a few days ago. They are all set for the summer. The marina has purchased a little 14 passenger bus to take people into Rock Hall for restaurants and shopping. It is free. They get a lot of groups, like us, and they felt this was a needed service since the town trolley went out of business.

Getting the boat ready and packed up.

Again, if you have any questions about the marina, slip or putting in on Friday, just let us know.

Remember, pot luck on Friday night. The committee will provide soda, water and paper goods.

See you then.

Doug & Anne

Doug and Anne, I'm going to get the name tags out to you early this week. I have your home address if you haven't moved in the last year. I'll also send you a bunch of attendance lists and the list of t-shirts for Dick on Naptime. I'll include a self addressed package so you can send me my t-shirt, along with a check or cash to pay for it.

Wish I could come.

Charlie

Unfortunately due to a family situation I must back out of the gathering. Nothing completely disasaterous or deleterious, just something that requires my presence and full attention. I know I placed an order for a shirt, so let me know where and to whom to send $$ for it. Hopefully I can see some of you in NC, next year at Lankford, or around the bay.

Hope everyone is having a nice Memorial Day weekend. It is great weather here in Pennsylvania.

Looking forward to next weekend and the 6th annual Chesapeake Gathering at Lankford Bay Marina.

We are asking for a donation of a large cooler to use on Friday and Saturday night to keep the soda/water cold. So, if you have an extra that you can spare, we would be grateful.

We are going to have a lot of fun. Looking to good weather lots of good boating, fellowship and food.

Remember, Sunday is our send-off breakfast. Plan on a great breakfast cooked and served by Bob and Paula from Hunk-E-Dory. ( Paula makes the best omlets Mmmmm)

See you Friday night at the pot-luck.

Have a safe travel.

Doug & Anne

If anyone has suggestions for what to bring or what is needed for the potluck on Friday, please feel free to let me know!

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. We should arrive by 4PM by boat.

Courtnay, bring what YOU like to eat, chances are everyone else will too. Sorry we'll miss you, have got to go to a graduation.

You probably won't get this in time though!

Charlie

To all, we want to thank you for the warm welcome we received as first (but not last) time attendees.

The hospitality was terrific all around from the time Bob took our lines until we departed Sunday to beat some weather as we went back home to Annapolis.

Anne and Doug did a great job on a wonderful supper Saturday evening, complimented by Dottie Proffer's deviled eggs and tasty contributions by others.

As if that was not enough, Paula sent us packing full of delicious omelettes, pastries, and strong coffee on Sunday morning.

Again, thank you for a great time and new friendships. If you visit Annapolis, be sure to give us a call and say "hi."

Fair winds and following seas.

Just got home from Lankford Bay and the gathering of C-Dorys and Ranger Tugs. We had just 9 boats but we had a wonderful time.

The weather was hot as usual but the food was great. Glad we had the pavillion up on the hill for our celebration. We had the best breezes in the marina.

Hope everyone had a good time and safe trip home.

Looking for suggestions for next year. Date, venue, or any ideas.

Thanks for everyone's help in setting up, taking down. Thanks to Dick for taking care of the shirts. Thanks to Charlie for the name tags and spread sheets. Thanks to Paula and Bob for another wonderful breakfast.

Have a safe summer!

Doug & Anne
