This helps, until you are the one who attempts to organize an event for us all to enjoy...and that wonderful volunteer must connect all the dots...and attach real names with boat names, C-Brat names, contact info, real email address for bulk responses to the group attending, .....and the like.

Help Warren Help You....and Warren... Here is to you and your success. :beer

Thanks to any and all who have help put together our C-Brat gatherings as to allow us to gather and have fun. :thup :thup

Happy Easter to All!!

Thanks for the plug, Byrdman! I'm not sure what tickets you are referring to but I guess that is between you and Sensei Roger, no?

Warren

Byrdman and all -- Larry H suggested that your question was in reference to the Trawlerfest itself.

"General Admission
$15 daily (Stuart, FL, Anacortes, WA and Solomons, MD)

General admission includes a Trawler Fest pass for the in-water boat show, shoreside expo, and demonstrations, plus a welcome kit with tote bag."

Our gathering is completely independent of Trawlerfest. If you want to go, you will need to get your own tickets. However, when I went to Trawlerfest in Poulsbo last spring, I did not need a ticket to walk the docks and look at the boats. I did not get a tote bag or try to attend any of the seminars though. Dunno if it will be the same or different in Anacortes. One last idea. Those interested could possibly get tickets through Ranger Tugs or Rosborough boats, the way Brats got tickets for SBS through C-Dory. Let's see what we can find out...

Warren

I just finished sending emails to about 12 Brats who have not yet sent me the information that I need to give to Cap Sante to preregister you for your slip. Please be sure to respond soon so I can get that info in to them. Be sure to indicate your screen name (e.g., "Doryman") as I had to contact some people who wrote me to figure out who they were.

We're currently at 25 boats (this includes some people who are driving). There should be plenty of space at Cap Sante for more, so please sign up (from the home page, click "Event Signups") so if you are interested in joining us, please add yourself to the event. (Do so even if you are planning to come by car.)

Thanks -- this should be a fun couple of weeks at Friday Harbor and Anacortes!

Warren

Warren,

I believe we have already confirmed that we will be there but by car since we are only a short distance by road.
Best,

Merv

OK, Daydream is now signed up for this one too. We are taking dry storage at Hilton Harbor Marina in Bellingham right after Friday Harbor through the end of August. We'll buzz up to Birch Bay Friday night, be on the water by 11:00 a.m. and to Anacortes by noon!

I dunno what this means exactly in terms of cost, but I was on the TrawlerFest web site and I saw a notice that proclaimed that, "NEW: TRAWLER FEST DATES HAVE BEEN EXTENDED! NOW OPEN FOR GENERAL ADMISSION ON SUNDAY, MAY 25!"

A one-day ticket to get into the seminars is $100 and the prices go up from there. However, when I was at the Poulsbo event last year I just walked in and was able to look at the boats and the exhibits without problems.

Warren

On Friday I talked to the lady at the marina office who is responsible for assigning slips. It's going to be a busy weekend, but it should be a lot of fun because, she said, they sell more boats at TrawlerFest than they do at the SBS! (I am sure she is referring to trawlers only, though.) For that reason, they want as many people to be able to see the boats and exhibitors as possible, so we should be able to walk the docks and see the exhibits without having to pay any registration fee (this does not apply to the seminars, of course.)

I was originally told we would have all of our slips together. Now I am not so sure. We will have to see. We have 25 C-Brats signed up in one way or another (based on website logins -- most of these are for couples of 2) which is about 50 people total. 20 boats, the rest are land cruisers.

Everything is lined up for our social events. On Friday (time TBD) we will meet at Gere-A-Deli for a nice dinner (not deli food.) Starting in May they serve dinners on the weekend nights, so I have a section of the restaurant reserved for us. Some of you are arriving on Saturday, so I am not including you in the dinner.

On Saturday evening we are gathering at the Anacortes Yacht Club (where I am a member) for a potluck. I've made the reservation and paid the $50 fee and $250 deposit. I am responsible for cleaning the facility afterwards, so I would appreciate your assistance in that endeavor.

On Sunday morning, we don't have a breakfast reservation because the owner of the Islands Cafe (the restaurant with the most space to accommodate us) did not want to commit so much space on Sunday morning, his busiest day of the week. So instead, we are just going to show up at the cafe and ask to be seated together. A de facto reservation, as it were.

I'm assuming that we will spend Saturday and Sunday hanging out on the docks and evangelizing for the C-Brat lifestyle!

Any questions, comments or requests?

Warren

Thanks for all you work on this Warren.
What is the procedure for getting a slip assignment? Do we call in just prior to arrival? Oh-there are 3 of us. We have a teenage daughter who loves boating. She is a lot of fun - if we can get her away from the computer. Does the marina have WiFi ?!?!?!?

I am getting slip assignments for everyone who wants one -- that is why I was bugging people about the details of their registration, because it is info that Cap Sante is asking for. So when you arrive you should call the harbormaster and they should have your info in the computer and be able to give you your slip assignment over the VHF (assuming you are arriving by boat. If you are launching there you probably should call and make an appointment for the sling or else plan on launching from Washington Park.)

Yes, there is WiFi there -- Broadband Express and others. I don't know if any are free, will check.

Warren

P.S. I am still waiting for info from the following Brats:

Base Camp Anne
Joy
Rock-C

Remember these are wireless set ups on private boats and may or may not
be there at time. They work and are free but they can be viewed by anyone
who knows how to work the system. This does not include myself some one
else may be able to add more on this. The closer you are to "C" dock the better they work as that is where the boats that have wireless are mostly
docked. Remember these are private wireless set ups.

I hope everything is ok, but I have to comment on this...

When my family was planning on moving up to the Seattle area, we read everything we could about the different areas in and around Seattle. We settled on Edmonds and LOVE the place. I have to chuckle because in one book we read that characterized the different areas, it commented that Ballard is where the old people live, Magnolia was were the people in Ballard's parents live and I'd like to add that having lived in Edmonds for a while now, Edmonds is where their GRANDPARENTS live

So you will be at Friday Harbor, but not at Anacortes? We will miss you!

Slip #1
Cap Sante RV Area

Still boatless, Elaine and I have arrived (somewhat early) for the Anacortes CBGT. We're the big black & silver motorhome, overlooking the marina, just off the "G" dock.

Please stop by and say hello when you get in.

David,

We're going to be arriving at FH on Sunday, the 25th. Our Carver, "She Said Yes" is moored near the ferry entrance. Be great if you could come by. I'd love to talk CGA with you! My Oregon boat got it's operational facility decals.

We might make it in to Cap Sante a little late Friday evening, but much more likely on Saturday morning. Will there be a C-Brat greeting committee to guide us each to our slip? Call in on 68? Also, is there a potluck on Saturday night? Thanks!
