05/18 - 05/20 - 2018 Friday Harbor CBGT

I just loaded a few more photos to the album. I also started around a coloring book (with coloring pencils) that I ask a member from each boat color in one of the pictures on page 16 or 17 (I think; double check the explanation sheet paperclipped to the front of the book), and then sign your crew and boat name to the picture. This was a coloring book I won at a silent auction at the St. John's River gathering a few years ago. Feel free to look through the pages of what C-Brats have colored in at past gatherings I have attended. Once done, just pass it on to another C-Brat that has not had the chance to color in it yet. Much thanks and appreciation for taking part in this endeavor for me to remember all the great folks I meet at these gatherings! Colby

Alas, Two Lucky Fish +1 will not attend this year. I had been hoping to, but there's just so much going on at and around home. Good stuff, mostly, but it's a little overwhelming.

H dock is full now but there are slips on the H facing NW side of G dock. Just pass all the C-dorys on you right, an turn left into one of the innermost slips.

Also wanted to say, another great C-Brat gathering in my history book! I posted this in my 2018 PNW thread, but worth repeating here.

I love our trailerable boats and the various bodies of water I have been able to visit. The C-Brats are a great group, sharing not only ideas and information, but parts as well. And of course the socialization goes without saying! Some of us are fortunate to be able to travel across the various "regions" and put faces with names that we see on our forum. Even if we can't remember them shortly thereafter.

Thanks Ari crew for putting this one on! Colby & Rosanne

I and cattitude are new to the group and only spent one day there with all of you. I and the cat were impressed with the openness and friendly people you all are and left with the feeling of being part of it all.
thanks to all of you , what fun

Thanks to everyone for another fabulous Friday Harbor gathering! We had a wonderful time. We are nearing Port Orchard now and will be home before noon. See you all on the water.

Cindie

Had a great time this weekend meeting all the C-Brats at Friday Harbor.

Did anyone attending find a gray "Stuart Island" baseball cap? We lost it at the potluck. If so, contact us by email or PM.

Thanks again for a great weekend.

What a great adventure! Great to meet you all stopped in Olympia for a bite then on our way. Straight was little choppy but much better than Friday.

Thanks again to everyone that makes this gathering one of our years best times. The people old or new are some of the best people I know.
Big thanks to Brett for letting me crew his shrimp boat and especially Cindy, Aven, and Greg for hosting this event.
Spun the hub on our way home. Six knots but we made it.

Thanks
Fred and Robbin

Cindie, Greg and Aven,

Fantastic gathering, love the new shades! You guys really know how to put on a fun event. Was great meeting some new Brats and catching up with the ones we know!

It was nice to have our Reverend Pat christening the new boats!

Thanks to everyone for a delicious potluck, too!

Patrick and Kim

Five boats from the Friday Harbor gathering ended up at Fossil Bay on the dock yesterday: Daydream (us), TBD II (John Frazey), DayBreak (Gary and Colleen), Songbird (Brock, now we know the name!)and Gannett (Joe). We had a pleasant evening together last night!

What a great way to end our vacation! Thanks to Cindie, Aven, and Greg for all the work organizing this so we all could kick back and enjoy.

We hit the area north of Yellow Island (thanks for the info Fred) and caught our daily limit of spot shrimp. There were a few boats there but plenty of room for all compared to say, Everett. Then home to Lake Stevens via Bellingham Bay. Ride was fine; we've seen worse.

So good to see you all and meet new people. What a perfect size gathering.

I tried to load photos here on the site, but our internet service is literally in a tree down the street, so our PC would time out before the load could finish. (That, and I accidentally closed the browser once...).

Anyway, I put a few more photos on our blog... http://www.fredandrobbin.com/on-the-boat

Now I get to "help" Fred fix stuff on the boat. Which generally means I get to "hold things" such as wrenches. In this case, I think I'll be holding the rub rail up against the bow of the boat while we try to reattach it.

Ribbon. Sounds like there is a story to be told. Care to share the details ? Ann & I really miss all the friends at the FH gathering. Hopefully next year.
