05/12 - 05/14 - Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

I remember seeing that somebody "gave up" their MMSI number so that it could be used as a group number for C-Brats. If the number still works, it might be nice to post it here (I couldn't find it in a search) so that those attending FH can keep in touch with the group. Learning how this is done and practicing MSI calls would be a great group activity.

CHRISTENING LIST

Here is what I have as of today!

It is NOT too late to get added to the list, and day-of requests are OK too but I would prefer to have advance notice of your name and your boat name!

Our names: Tom & Katie Wilson
Boat name: Jolly Blue

@Pat,

We're not going to bring the boat up, so sad to say no christening for us.

@Gary,

We won't need a slip or the Coast Guard inspection now either.

We will be coming up by van and stay at a hotel. Do you guys need anything brought up for the pot luck? A folding table or two?

Looking forward to meeting people and seeing boats. Thanks.

With much regret we will not be making the trip, as well. Kickin’ Back who was going to be traveling with is will not be attending either. Edmonds to Friday Harbor is a long way for such a short trip with so much weather. To all who get there, Cheers from Catch 22! Hope to see you soon.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Too many to respond to individually. Colleen and I made it to Friday Harbor today along with six other vessels. We hope to see many of you as possible for the Saturday potluck. Please travel safely. If you can’t make it, we understand.

Well, today is officially a ‘no go’ for us. Still holding out hope for tomorrow. I let the marina know we’ll be delayed…although I’m sure slip availability won’t be an issue with this nastiness. Fair winds and following seas to those who make the trip!

Tosca is bailing 🙁. The weather was the last straw. Various commitments have been closing in on me (including a wedding, and an unexpected medical procedure for my wife that has me tied up all day today). What a strange spring we've had.....the weather can't seem to decide if it is March or November!

Glad I had a look. repairs and work have us still at the house. We are packing the boat today ( thursday) but do not plan on leaving until afternoon friday. We are coming out ( depending on weather ) for a week. Need to get some ling in the boat.

We are making travel adjustments for road trip & Alaska cruise. These storms are making the road trip up through the Canadian Ice Parkway a bit iffy & SE Alaska has been & predicted to be cooler & wet for the spring too.

Leo (4) and I are headed back to the mainland. We had an unfortunate incident where Leo’s toy truck made it off the H dock and on its way to Davy Jones’ lockerrr. This was a point where dad decided the trip was winding down (we were always headed back home today).

It was very nice meeting those we did (Brock, Jeff, etc). Gary and Colleen, we saw your 23, but you must have been in town when we were down there.

Cheers,

Andrew, I sure enjoyed meeting and talking with you and your little skipper Leo these two days. I wish the weather was better today because normally we’d feature a smorgasbord of various models and customizations on Thursday. I was telling Jeff and Diane that I hope Andrew and his wife do get a C-Dory someday because you’d be a mighty fine addition. Right now it’s raining pretty earnestly—not a particularly good time to visit boats. From my lazy vantage point in the cockpit, it does appear the wind has lost a little steam.

Thank you, Brock. I'm gonna call the trip a success, since I got to at least touch a couple of 22s.

If anybody in the Puget Sound area would like to exchange a ride for beers in the near future, please message me.

Cheers,

Andrew

The weather is calming down. Some blue skies and we hope to see as many of you as possible tomorrow. Gary and Colleen

Yes, BUT...calmer but not exactly calm! We really do not like being out in 20 knot winds and 3 foot waves! We are coming and hoping for the lower end of the forecast for today and Sunday!
