05/06 - 05/07 - Lopez Opening Day

I'm not really sure what kind of cat I am, so any help is appreciated.
Blue~Ken, there's room for you (and anyone else) without a personalized reservation. Sign up and let us know when you'll arrive. I'll call Kathy, say, next Friday the 29th to let her how many and what size.

And I think a Lopez casino is a marvelous idea. I'm delighted that the state is well on it's way to having a major facility in every city and town.

CoolCat, Great, we'll have a better idea by the 29th. I hope to pick up another ground support vehicle by then, I have a Yamaha QT50 scooter that I can just throw in the back of the boat, I may have a line on another...We aim to terrorize the Juans this summer by land and sea

This is cutting it close. Got a call from C-Dory today and Scott M was checking on a small cutout in the cabinetry I had faxed them. All is cool with that and understood. Asked him when the boat would be ready to pick up. Looks like Tues the 3rd of May. Get it here to Guemes and start loading stuff on that was off loaded from the 22. Install the helm seat with take-apart hinges on top of the slide out cutting board/counter that I just constructed. And into the water on Wed. Need to get at least 4-6 hours on her before leaving for Lopez on Fri. so I can keep up with all your broken-in boats.

Yeah, this pretty much means I have to call the Islander and see if we can get a room...we WERE a week behind Anna Leigh, but since the boat has been marinating in frickey-dickey Monroe for the last three weeks, I am guessing we lost some ground there (Scott, can you cheer us up on that front?), and we are probably not only going to miss having it for Lopez but also for Hood Canal shrimping...crap.

bummer Pat, maybe you could rent a SmokerCraft and do kind of a nostalga cruise, brrr.
The wheels are in motion for an early Friday departure for us.

Pat, If you can get off on Frid and get to Anacortes by 2 I could pick you up at Cap Sante and ferry you both to Lopez. Won't be at full trottle, but quicker than Wa State Ferry. Kate is not going on Frid and I will go back and pick her up on Sat.

Let me know when you get back on Sun.

WooHoo! It looks like we are going to have a boat by this weekend, by a wonderful stroke of luck. We are planning on being there, but have never been in the area before. We'll use this weekend to get used to the new cruiser in familiar waters before making the trip up there. We'll likely be there later on Friday. We've signed up on the list, is there anything else we need to do in order to participate? Anybody leaving later on Friday? If so, where from?

Dee

excellent, so instead of "Wait-N-C" should we now call you "C-Here" ...We're shooting for an early departure on Friday, You should talk to your Dept. Chair about an early release on Friday :)

That's a good one. :D I guess if we get there later than everyone else, we'll still be Wait-N-C, but that's going to be changing soon.

BTW, Don is the Department Chair, which is precisely why we can't leave earlier. :( We actually both have appointments in the a.m. but are hoping to get on the road pretty early. Don't think we want to hit Seattle traffic at rush hour, but then compared to here, it's always rush hour there. Make sure you save us a spot! :wink

Well, folks, we are really holding our breath now...seems the C-Dory factory is aiming for a May 6 delivery for the new Daydream! So it will be pretty bare, and we'll be doing the slow dance on our way over Saturday a.m., but it sure looks like it could happen that way!

is the new Daydream going to be rigged? or will you be paddling it?...or perhaps towing behind the dingy? :) hope it's ready for yas

I thought I would bring this back to the top. Robbin and I are hoping to make the gathering with our boat. I was wondering what peoples plans are for next weekend? We were hoping to do some ling cod fishing Saturday. I assume we will be having the potluck on Saturday at the dock like last year. Crossing our fingers for light wind for next weekend.

Fred

I'll be leaving for Lopez from Skyline Marina at Burrows Bay at about 2 p.m. on Friday. I've got no passengers so there's room in case one of those new boats can't get launched in time. My cell number is 360-301-0042. My land line is 360-379-2925. I'm hoping to tag along with some other boats and will be monitoring Ch. 68.

Lane Stuart

Lane, I'll be a few hours behind you, leaving from the same slings. But I have to work until 3 p.m. Friday, and right now I have a flat trailer tire. Should be up and rolling, however.

It's time for me to call Kathy again and offer up the official C-Count and lengths. Is everyone who's going to Lopez signed up, shaved, showered and ready to go? Lawn mowed and bills paid? Okay then, I'll recite to her from our list the attendees. I don't think I have to be exact because, well, she's familiar with C-World.

Food. Do we want to have our traditional potluck? They really are fun, but for you newbies, I personally don't think attendance is mandatory. You will, however, need a note from one of our teachers. Lastly, if the weather is really lousy, like Jarrell Cove lousy, I'm going to leave Bambina at home and drive up.

Susan and I will be there friday afternoon as planned. I just realized that the 7th is openning day of shrimp season. I reall love to fish for these guys. I have only shrimpd in the north sound area. Shipwreak and south of there is really good on openning day. Where around the islands is good for shrimp?? I will be bringing two pots to use that week end and I will be making a run out for halibut to eastern bank or the like. So whos up for shrimping???

Well, sports fans, Scott Mathews sent us the ol' "we're trying but no promises for Friday" email today...biting nails here, but the long and short of it is, IF we get a boat, Patty will be coming, IF no boat, Patty stays home, I come and beg for some place to sleep. IF we have a boat, it will be a Saturday arrival. No boat, I will probably hook up with David Friday afternoon to hitch a ride over and bring da BEER...one way or another, I'll be there. SCOTT - tell the boys to make us happy!!!! I know it is what it is, got to keep telling myself, it is what it is, it is what it is, it is what it is...
