05/06 - 05/07 - Lake Winnipesaukee, New England

Dear BRATS,
We need to have some sort of poll or vote like last year for the second annual New England C-Dory get together.
We have free slips the first or second weekend in May, but last year I inconsiderately scheduled Mother's Day, and was over-ruled and rescheduled, with all the associated mix-ups a last minute change will cause. Mea Culpa.
This year we'd like to do it correctly. Please let us know which weekend works best and we'll pick the weekend with the best attendance.

YOU DON'T NEED A BOAT TO ATTEND!!!

I can't stress that enough. We should have all the boats (including the elusive 22' Angler with remote helm) (but no Tomcat) in the water for anyone who would like to browse or test drive. We expect the 21 EC Ranger Tug to make a guest appearance too. We still have a couple of boatshows, so you may be looking at a purchased boat, but our mission in New England is to show first and then sell if it fits your needs.
Please let me know if you can attend, and if you can bring a boat.

Fair winds...

Sorry we can't attend in May. Might be able to make an event later in the summer. Maybe a gathering in the Cape Cod area?

Hi John,

Had a great time there last year, even though Carol was hobbled with a cast.

Can't do Mother's Day Wknd. That's a No - No, though we have had a C-Brat gathering on Father's Day in Fairhaven. That's allowed, since it's Father's Day and the C-Dory is mostly Dad's toy.

So, the first Wknd of May works for us. Ice won't be a problem this year!

We have added this to the calendar for the first weekend in May, and created a signup list. The dates can be changed if another works better for you.

Springtime in New England sounds good!

John et al;

Becky and I may not be ble to make it all the way up this year. Our parents are having problems and we need to be as near as possible to them. It will be a last minute decision, but you'd better not count us in.

So sorry to miss the fun. The weather just HAS to be better than last year.

Hi John,

Lorraine and I plan on joining you with or without our boat. I've been working on the boat all this week. Found a chipmunk nest inside my 15HP kicker and in the v-berth too. What a mess! Can't figure out how they got in the outboard. I don't see any holes. I took the shroud off and it was loaded with TP so that chipmunk was busy.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Dick

Hi John,

I am sorry that I will not be able to attend in that I have a commitment on Nantucket Island on that Saturday. I hope the weekend turns out good for you all. I will keep in touch.

Not a problem! You're allowed to be busy!

We got the newspapers you sent with the C-Dory write-up. Thanks!

Now let us know when you want to test drive the 25' Cruiser...

Cheers!

Tick Tock Tick Tock

The 2nd annual New England C-Dory Gathering is coming this weekend.

A buffet style lunch will be set up for 1130Am to 2PM or as long as it lasts.

The head count is looking better than this post would have you believe!

We have 6 owned boats in attendance and, so far, 2- 3 Christening ceremonies for new boats with new names.

We'll have another 4 boats available for viewing so that the final count means we'll have
16 Cruiser
16 Angler
19 Crangler
22 Angler
22 Cruiser (2-3)
25 Cruiser
Ranger R21-EC Tug
Available to see.

Most people are not spending the night, but we've had good reviews on the local B& B's
www.bbhost.com/nutmeginn/
www.meredithinn.com

After lunch and christening ceremonies, a Lake convoy was proposed (like last year).
If we want to include the Tug then it may be a bit shorter (distance) or longer (time-wise with the 12MPH limit). This is the same weather as last year and we had a fine time. Please keep E-Mailing with your arrivals as it only helps our planning

YOU DON'T NEED A BOAT TO ATTEND!

For people lurking, a great chance to see the boats and talk to owners.

Hi John,

You didn't say which Day, Sat or Sun? Are most people coming on Saturday, like last Year?

We won't be bringing Hunky Dory. Steering is broke.

But, we're coming up one of the 2 days this weekend. We're looking forward to meeting and playing with more C-Brats.

The weather doesn't sound that bad for either day, though Sat night doesn't sound good.

Sorry for the mix up. Most peope could make Saturday so we put all our efforts into the biggest crowd, so that is the big day. Friday was for arrivals and launching/ check-in. Saturday should be a good time. Even more food than last year with more space set aside (we were rained in for lunch last year too, and it worked out fine) and more GPS units for the convoy on the Lake. Looking forward to seeing you!

PS bring your steering info so I can see what we can do.

Hi John,

Thanks for the good time yesterday. Enjoyed meeting the latest converts to our cult. That new Ranger 21EC sure is cute. I didn't tell this year's attendees about the Lobsters last year!

Hi John,

Lorraine and I want to thank you for a great time yesterday, Saturday. Great food, great people and great boats, what else could you ask for. We christened two new boats, that was neat. Good luck to the new C-Dory owners and welcome to our clan. We really like that little tug.
We'd like to do this again next year.
Thanks again,
Dick

John,

Sorry I could not make it. It sounds like a very successful weekend. New C-Dory people. John, why don't you come to the Erie Canal with us next fall? You just sell the boats. You have to see, first hand, how they are used, and the smile of all the Happy C-Dory owners, Captains, and Crew you have helped to make happy.
