04/30 - 05/02 - Lopez Island Opening Weekend

Holy smokes, I see that 18 boats/C-Folks are signed up for this adventure. I think last year Blakely had the record for most boats at any gathering, but I'm not sure how many. Was it twenty something? The way this one is going, we might have a new record.

I do hope everyone is calling Kathy at Lopez Islander to make their reservations. With 18 boats signed up, we've already exceeded the 15 vessels that I figured would be attending. Kathy will need reservations from everyone. All the contact information is located on page 2 of this thread.

Dave, I made reservations with Cathy today. She said it looks like a pretty good group is going to show, so it sounds like folks are signing up.

Brock, I remember when 10 boats at a gathering was a bunch. Twenty or thirty C-Dory's in one place is a pretty awesome sight. Wouldn't it be cool if C-Dory would take an aerial photo shot of twenty + boats 'puttin out of a marina. I'd even buy a copy of that. Jeff, hint-hint...

Well, I have some good news and some bad news.

First, the good news. My shift at work changed and now I have Friday, Saturday and Sundays off. That means more weekends free to spend with the Brat PACK!

Now the bad news. It came with a pay cut and I did not volunteer for it. That means I won't likely be able to afford to get out on my boat anywhere near as much as I am accustom to :cry .

I may well be missing this one boys. I sure would like to go but it is time for me to prioritize. Maybe I could hitch hike up and hold a cardboard sign, Will fish for Food?

I just checked the sign-up list for the Lopez Island Gathering and I see that we have 25 vessels signed in for the occasion. (That includes TWO new member vessels from Everett!). Only 28 more days... :smilep

Hi all,
The Lynn Marie won't be there but the crew will. Judy and are will leave here and stop at E.Q. on Friday morning to check out the connections on the new tandem axle King trailer Les has on order. YAHOO! Better towing means more trips. Once that's done then it's off to the ferry for a boat ride to Lopez where we're booked in the Islander. Wish we were bringing the boat but that makes it real tuff getting both trailers back here.

The next time we head north will be Blakley WITH the boat. See you all in a brief 4 weeks.

Tim

Just called Kathy - there's still room. No slip assignment, she said to call in on 78 when arriving.

I know this has come up before, but what's the record for attendance at a C-Brat gig? Are we gonna break it?

Don't know what the Saturday gathering has in store as far as bringing food stuff goes but we'll keep an eye out for whatever everyone else may bring. We'll stay loose since we'll be in a car and can tote whatever. Might be kind of fun for one of us river rats to be able to haul up a slab of sturgeon to put on the BBQ. Also, Judy and I have always liked Lopez and if anyone wants a motor cruise we could be talked into it. Also there may be the chance that the Lopez Saturday Market could be up and running by then and we've always found great stuff there.

I'm up for the Lopez Saturday market idea. And maybe a walk to the little town a mile down the road.

Da Nag, 25 boats is just about tops, if all show. I think Fireman Dave counted 25 at Blakely last year, with two locals dropping in for a visit.
Actually, looks like 26, as Pegusus' Al and Karen plan on motoring over Saturday.

Cool, CM - we can swap off giving Dana piggy-back rides...

I've told a few of you about this, but Dana broke her ankle a little over a week ago. Had plates/pins installed during surgery, but she'll eventually get back to 100%. Even though she's been told to stay completely off of her leg for 6 weeks, she's being the trooper and joining us at Lopez.

Don't suppose anyone has a wheelchair? I was thinking of wheeling her around in one of those dock wagons, but that's not exactly up to Princess's standards...

Ice skating. Nothing as news-worthy as the Nancy Kerrigan incident, but she's got the "Why???" imitation down pat...

Hey Bill,

Count on Joni & I for this gig...should help in setting a all new C-Brat record. You mentioned no more slip reservations? is it now on a first come first serve?
Look forward to seeing everyone..

Joni & David

Hey Joni & David,

Looking forward to seeing you guys there - it's shaping up to be a great weekend.

I'd definitely call in a reservation with this many folks attending - they'll set a spot aside for you, they just weren't giving the slip assignment over the phone when I called in.

See you guys in a few weeks!

Bill --
Sure sorry to hear about Dana's broken ankle -- pins and all. And off the ankle (supposedly for 6 weeks) -- bugger that! We know the experience after El's tumble a year ago and her pins and metal in the leg, so sympathize with you guys. Know we're thinking of you and trusting for a swift and complete healing. Good luck and kick back, Dana.

I'll second that, Dana. It's no fun breaking stuff, unless you're a kid throwing rocks at old man Crankster's windows.

I wish you a speedy recovery, kiddo, and I'm sorry to hear that happened. Course, if I were down for that long I'd welcome the opportunity to catch up on Oprah and General Hospital. I wonder if Chuck and Missy ever got back together.

For those at the Jarrell's Cove Gathering I apologize for my tardiness; I had promised to pass on the name and telephone number of the guy who did my deck lights above the door on the Liberty Call. His name is Mike Schaefer and can be reached at (360) 405-5120 (work) or (360) 432-2271 (home). Again, sorry I'm so late, hope this helps.
