Smoky was just some old guy who drove a forklift at the mill when I was a teenager. He always said that when someone would ask what he thought the weather would do.
Now look at this. Here I was trying real hard to cut back on my nonsensical posting, and you've done gone and got me started again. Maybe rehab is in order. Maybe I can become the first reformed C-Brat. Maybe I can even get invited back to some of the places I've been kicked out of. Naw - it ain't worth it.

We are thinking about making this gig. Scanned this thread but didn't see anything about lodging, slips, evening gathering spot, ect....
We are 50/50 right now on these dates working, but we are going to see if we can re-arrange other plans to increase those odds.
I've got a lot to do to get the Denebola :star fish ready by then but may be able to swing it. :shock: I just remembered that I need to get a bay kit on my kicker too. Seeing's that we would be fishin' the Lewis & Clark Hiway I could probably trim up the Honda 50 and drag a herring against that current, or anchor and plunk.
It would just be neat gettin' to meet some fellow Pubsters :beer. Jon

We have always been able to find plenty of slips at the marina in Cathlamet. And everyone's lodging has always been on their boat. You guys will be alright on your CD 16 for an overnighter. Shoot, Lyle used his CD 14 for a boaterhome at Sequim Bay in the dead of winter! But, if your wisdom is greater than your sense of adventure, I'm sure someone can suggest some lodging in the little town.
If you do want to brave the boaterhoming experience, just bring a small electric heater and an extension cord. Shore power is only a buck or two extra, and it seems to me there were plenty of 15 amp outlets.
As for meeting places, there are a couple of great ones.
Here is the town's only bar. As you can see, they had to board it up after the last time the B~C crew hit it, but I think you can still sneak in around back.

Bill, the guy with the banjo is further up the hill. It's definitely a quant little town, not a glitzy tourist town for sure, but it has a nice marina and everything is within walking distance. That picture, one could say, was the first ever C-Brat gathering. Safe to say, things have grown.

I gotta' agree with Da Nag on the photos. It's no wonder everyone sleeps on their boats. Do you have a tin can trip wire set up around the perimeter too?
As far as boaterhoming is concerned, it's a concern. During the first 15 years of our marriage we camped A LOT. And, although the beautiful Terrie is as tough as a pole cat, will cut her own herring, chop up crab bait and has the North Dakota gene pool allowing her to survive in all types of weather conditions; She is much more enthusiastic, funny, pretty, and not as likely to bite your ear off if she has warm running water, electricity, and a warm bed. I, personally, am allergic to burning in hell :twisted: so I do my best to find comfortable accommodations for us :angel. Sleeping in the storage bow of a 16' angler is not worth not waking up in the morning.

From the looks of the photo of the C-Brats in the Courtyard sans Banjo, I should become ordained so that I can not only perform vessel christenings, but be able to save a few souls also.......... :lol: (Glad I missed that gathering, had I been there sitting on the log with you, we would have been arrested for vagrancy for sure!)

Where in North Dakota is your spouse from? I happen to have been born in Grand Forks N.D. myself.
It seems to me that picture of the wooden head is an Arima boat owner who wishes he had bought a C-Dory instead! :roll:
Now I am in trouble. :smilep But then that is not new.
Ray I am trying real hard to arrange my schedule to be able to make it down there again. :lol: Maybe we can have breakfast aboard your boat while the poles are in the water and catch us a springer. :smilep I remember that with fond memories from last year. Remember also wakeing up with a certain young fellow standing by my boat with a hot cup of coffee when I finally got up.!!! What a great bunch of people.
Yes I stayed aboard my 14 footer in Squim and it was nice and cozy. Not much room but I had everything I needed to enjoy the C-Brat outing and hitched a ride with Jon and Cindy when they went cruiseing. Hope to see you at the outing.

She's from Lignite, N.D. not far from Minot, the B-52 capital of the world. None of her family lives there any more. If you have been there, you know why.
That wooden head picture couldn't be from an Arima owner cuz he/she is holding a fish. Those Arima'ers do tend to catch their share, which, of course isn't as big as our share :wink.
