04/01 - 04/03 Cathlamet, WA

Fred

This year we have new RV parking with hookups at the harbor $22 per night, or you can pull your camper into my driveway and plug into the electrical outlet there. Take your pick, either way will be fun.

Great, you can have the coffee pot going at oh-dark-thirty, when it is time to head out!

Larry, that is very nice of you to offer. I would like to take you up on that. If I sleep on a 25, I may have to buy a 25! Not a bad idea. Robbi

What, I have to get up early? I heard springers slept in.

I'll have coffe going at a quarter to oh-dark-thirty. Robbi

Larry, I sure would like to make this one. As time gets closer, I'll know for sure.

WooHoo! I might finally be able to meet the Great Jon and Cindy Lou!

I figure I can make it over the hill dragging the trailer on a skid then float down the big C to C-Town.

Maybe I can get SteveJ to make the trek with me?

If Larry will have me I would be very happy to crew his fish catching boat again this year. Lots of fun last year and this year should be better now that he showed me how to fish.

Hi Ray,
:thup Yes that breakfast was one thing I will remember for a very long time. I am looking forward to seeing you again in April. What is this I hear about you going to Alaska?? Sounds like a real fun trip! Later Lyle

O-boy another fishing trip, but what's this about Pat not bringing along the sealion bait. With all this talent we might have caught that sucker and shipped him back to the Ballard Locks. Sounds like another fun week-end up river. Maybe this year we'll be able to land one of those springers on our own boat, or i might need a refresher coarse too.

Folks,

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but doesn't the spring salmon season on the stretch of the river (521 in the Washington regs) close up on the last day of March? In my copy of the WA Sport Regs - I see Jan 1 to March 31 for salmon.... Our regs are so damn complicated maybe I'm reading them wrong but someone else please take a look. I'd hate to see all these C-brats getting all worked up for something that might not happen (but if you've been married for a long time, you're used to that already... )

Roger

I suspect the closure you are referring to marks the end of the 2004 fishing season on March 31st. The 2005 season begins on April 1st.
They'll shut down the fishing when the catch quota is met. Last year that was on April 15th if memory serves me.

The 2004-2005 regs are in effect until April 30th,2005. It's entirely possible that the season will be extended but from what I read the salmon season on that stretch ends March 31st. Again, I could be wrong but it would be good if someone else would cross-check my reading/interpretation. The regs are available on the WDFW site http://www.wdfw.wa.gov

Hey Larry,

the Cathlamet trip sound's like a hoot. Can you find room there in the harbor for a boy and his wooden boat? I'd love to join the fun.

Dale P.S. I'll be alone as Rosemary will have just left for Spain.

Yeah, I remember this Dale guy - he's the guy who TELLS you he's going one way, and then goes another!  (Dale - just joking, just joking - but I ain't gonna let you ferget it, either!)
