03/24 - 03/25 - Poulsbo, WA

Thanks, I'm feeling the warm welcome already <gr>. I'll look forward to meeting you all -- and see if I can make it to this rendevous!

Chuckpacific and I have considered attending the Puolsbo gathering, but since he is moored on the Columbia and doesn't have a trailer, getting there would be a long cruise.

Is there a Cathlamet gathering in the works??

Wineman

Paul,

Once you read up on the de-naming ceremony you will also need a bottle of the NW C-Brats official beer to pour over the bow during the ceremony. (You pour just a little from the 22 oz bottle and drink the rest). Usually there is someone there that is the official unofficial reverand of sorts. DaveS or Jim. I am pretty sure Pat/Patti on Daydream will be there. I will instruct him/them to bring an extra bottle for the purpose. Unfortunately I will be away from the Mainland during this event. I really enjoyed last years Poulsbo. You are going to have a blast meeting other brats. I caught my first salmon from your "new" boat in Cathlamet a few years ago. Pat was with me and cought a couple also.

Welcome Paul - I am rather fond of the Helen O, along with Helen and Larry who are just upstream neighbors of mine. Your new trailer was what brought my CD25 down here from Port Angeles a couple years back while the Helen O sat in my slip. And Larry did the driving with his truck. Very nice folks. And a very nice boat, don't you think?

You will have no problem at the dock up north. Usually new folks are feeling a part of the group before they even step off the boat at their first gathering. Lots of docking help and lots of smiling faces to greet you.

If you have a few extra days, considered cruising over to Seattle with the TyBoo crew on the Monday after. I haven't started much talk of that yet, but we'll be asking for local advice and company before too long.

See you soon.

karen,

"So the check is in the mail". Tom and I plan to boat over friday evening. and stay friday night and saturday night.

This new job of his is going to workout great. we don't have to wait anymore for him to get off work at 9pm on friday and boat in the dark. I fell like we have been released from pergatory. we figure we will head out from everett boat ramp at arround 3-4pm if anyone wants to tag along. Thanks for organizign this. i think this year i will host an event. i have a lighted xmass parade in mind. notice i chose something so late in teh year so i have plenty of time to plan.

paul welcome to the group. These groupies are the best. They seem to be able to take my opinionated hubby and laugh with him so these guys are a good group of people. I personaly have made some great friends here.

So last year teh teenagers had a great time in poulsbo. They walked into town ( just up the dock), bought hats at the thrift store and austin ( pat and patty son) pulled out his guitar and teh boys sang beer songs to the croud on teh street. as if they knew what beer was.( don't tell me they do i want to remain uniformed, ha ha ha) it was great. all of teh adults sat in the boat house eating great masterpieces from various c-brats chefs. we usually talk about our boats,, summer plans, tell jokes, kids growing up . life in generall. and solve world problems from out comfy chairs on teh dock. My hubby tries to keep to a minimal discussion of politics (which is a feat for him) and the c-brats keep inviting us back. So they are a kind bunch of people.

talk you all soon

It seems several Brats have fond memories of the Helen-O. That is a testament to Larry & Helen, great people. Two years ago we cruised with the Helen-O in the Gulf Is. We shared some special times with the crew at Ganges Hbr.
Welcome to the world of C-Dory, you have a great boat.

are there any motels close by. we may come over in the car and hang out some. mayhaps hitch a ride if there is any cruising to be done.

Hey Roger,
I remember that there are a couple of places to stay right next to the marina. You should join us! Visit poulsbo.net to see what's there.

Paul - I'm so glad you are venturing over to Poulsbo with us! It's sure to be a great weekend.

Susan - I hope to be launching from Everett about that same time. (And when I say I, I really mean WE). Hope to see you! We'd lilke to avoid arriving in the dark this year, too!

This year I'm getting that Norwegian sweater for sure....

My check goes out tomorrow.

I have meant to make a trip to Poulsbo to Marina Market. I bought things for my boat from them when I lived 3000 miles away! They sell stuff out of the West Marine catalog for cost plus 10%, and have a market of Norwegian foods. And are nice folks to deal with. I look forward to stopping there, and recommend it to others.

Maybe I can use this event as a deadline to finally get a name on my boat!

Dave

Hey, it worked! My interest is up!

Here are the boats from whom I have received checks for this exciting event:
C-Cakes, Tyboo, C-Change, R-Matey, C-Ya, Susan E, Laurna Jo, Kingfisher, Bootleg Hooch, C-Run, Sunfish, Daydream, Luna C, and a nameless boat from Port Townsend. (BlackNorth!)

Are you on the list?

You guys are making this incredibly difficult to say "no" to; but, unfortunately, reason may prevail. We are closing on a house in Sequim on the 22nd of March and still need to take delivery from Les on the J.C.Lately. After driving through Poulsbo last month following the Boat Show I can still smell the bakery at Poulsbo calling us back, and it's only a block from the marina!

Seriously, we expect to have our new base of operations established by early April and would certainly appreciate hearing from any C-Brats who would be willing to lend some guidance to a couple of old "new hands" with a CD 22 in the Sequim area.

Have a great gathering at Poulsbo.

Dan, I think we're going to miss you. The tentative plan right now is for little Kiera and I to come over Friday afternoon and stay the night, but we have to come home sometime Saturday so's Julia and I can attend a function. This'll probably be our first overnight. If the weather's really terrible, we probably won't go. I don't want Kiera to have a bad experience the first time we try to cruise aboard the boat.
