03/18 - CB CR Yacht Club Dinner

Oh, my gosh!!! Is this exciting and scary or what?!! We are TOTAL newbies and this is our VERY FIRST post. We've been on this site since the SBS, ALOT. This dinner gathering spurred us on to FINALLY get it together and join!! YEAH Now we've got to learn how you do the sign up thing.

Bob and I would love to join you all on the 18th - next Saturday. As newbies we know VERY little ---( not even how to get the darned embarrased face over here) so could you clue us in on what the CB CR stands for in the name of this gathering? Thanks.
Anxiously looking forward to meeting some new boating friends,
Betsy

Welcome to the pub, Bob & Betsy. It sounds like you're becoming as addicted to this site as I have. This goes to everybody, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming CB CR means C-Brats Columbia River.

Have a great time meeting all the C-Brats, we had a wonderful time as newbies last year at the Lopez Island and Blakely Island gatherings.

Welcome to the pub! We were where you are last year at this time. We got our boat just in time for the Lopez gathering in May. We lurked on the site for months before we posted anything.

That's right it stands for C-Brat Columbia River Yacht Club Dinner. Looking forward to meeting you. Getting ready to head up to Poulsbo so we'll see you next weekend.

HEY welcome to the pub B&B B and what great timing we have to be able to catch the Nancy H crew (these are the folks that authored the book on cruising the inside passage with an old Johnson) :)
I just called BJ's at Jantzen Beach and reserved us a table for 20, 6:00 on the 18th that number is adjustable. Tyboo Mike wouldn't give me his credit card number so I went for the seperate ticket option.

Please don't let words like "yacht club" or "squadron" influence your dress or manner, Terry, you can leave the blue blazer and the white poodle home.....we'll be wearing white blazers for this function.

I wouldn't call my wife a "white poodle", at least not to her face  Anyway, I'm bringin her weather you like it or not. :beer
B&B B. Look forward to meeting you guys. Comming over from Bend? Have a safe trip.
Terry

Betsy, when I get the time, I keep the C-Brats charts updated. I noticed you do not have any information about your boat. If you post it here, I will add it to the charts when they are up-dated. To see the charts click HERE

There is another member with a 25’ Cruiser Sea Skipper from Bend also.

I get to Bend five or six times a year on business. Really a nice City and growing phenomenally fast.

Welcome aboard.

We ( Russ & Toni ) are 98% sure we will attend the proposed dinner this Saturday at BJ's , Jansen Beach Mall. We've never eaten there before but it should be easy to find, I never have trouble finding Boater's World. See you all there.

Good, hope you can make it, We've never dined at BJ's either but I have an idea of where it is, I think. You can see it from the freeway on the west side over by McDonalds.

If this is going to be an official CB CRS meeting we need a proper agenda...choose one,

AGENDA
I. Approve minutes from last meeting
II. Election of new Commodore
III. Election of new Rear Admiral
IV. Approval of official blazer colors for 06 cruising season
V. Presentation on new C-Ranger by Russ
VI. Presentation on hard top extensions by Larry H
VII. Group discussion "Anchoring and it's effects on maritial bliss, or, is it cheaper to just buy a windlass"
VIII. Social hour

OR

AGENDA
I. B.S.
II. Eat, drink
III more B.S.

:)

Ken -

Ed and Janet Gallaher here. Newbies (noboatyet), new at this sign-up business. I've posted before, but did not quite understand the sign-up procedure. We're planning to come tonight, but want to make sure there will be enough seats.

I think you (partly) moved the date from Mar 17 to Mar 18 to accommodate our St. Patrick's Day plans, so I don't want to upset the apple cart (or 'rock the boat') any further.

Whew . . . I was glad to see the dress code clarified! I was about to run out to Value Village for the obligatory blue blazer and white buck shoes. Now I can spend the $$ on the next 'sundowner' instead.

Ed

good food, drinks and folks..twas a nice time just wish they had a dock or something we could all gather together on and have a proper BS session :) it was nice meeting you all, catch you's at Cathlamentstan

Ken got home before I did!

Great gathering! It was nice to meet people I've been reading about on the forums. No boat yet, but several offers for rides, and we'll be at Cathlamet as well. We had about 18-20 people there - good food, good company.

Thanks, Ken!
