01/31 - 02/02 - Seattle Boat Show

Hops and Props. I happened to see the following on the SBS site while getting hotel info:

What better combination than hops and props? That's what the Seattle Boat Show has on tap for its first ever Sails & Ales Craft Beer Night, February 1st, at CenturyLink Field. For the first time in the show’s 66 year history, showgoers will be able to taste and toast the very best in craft beers while shopping for the boat of their dreams or wandering the three acres of accessories exhibits.

Should you attend the Seattle boat show, what days will you attend?

We will be there from Friday, Jan 31st to Sunday, Feb 2nd...

Perhaps we have the opportunity to meet and have a cold one together. :beer

What are Brats going to be shopping for at the SBS? We are going to look at freezers. Would be nice to have for those extended trips we hope to have soon.

in the short term we would like to upgrade all of our life jackets, add a nice stereo system, and pick a cooking grill. We may or may not upgrade the dinghy this year too. but more or less we just love being surrounded by lots of pretty boats :)

Last year at the SBS they had giant spools of weighted pot line for a very good price . I'd like to pick up another big spool. I dont need it now, but when I do it will be twice the price at a sporting goods store

If you are looking for shrimp line then I would suggest looking into using pull tap. Link above. Its far cheaper then lead line and easier to use and store. I store 3 to 4 500 foot lengths in one 5 gallon bucket. It has a 1500 lbs breaking strength, sinks, and runs thought the pot puller just fine and does not tangle much at all. I have been using it for 3 years now and love it.

No more coiling rope in baskets or on drums that have to be stored and it doubles for stern tie rope. It also ties and unties well. I just can't say enough about how well this works and how much better then lead line. I have found it on Ebay and amazon for under a $100 for 1500 ft.

Thanks Tom! That's a really great deal... I think I know what Im asking santa for x-mas

I'm really looking forward to the boat show! We'll probably will just drool on everything and not buy anything this year.

Time to bring this to the top and start a sign up sheet I think.

Good idea. Check it over and make sure the dates are correct. I set RB as the cruise director, but if it should be SCT let me know. We do not want any bickering.

Absolutely. And we will really need a head count for the soiree at the Taproom a couple of weeks before the event. And somebody needs to tell us what kind of spread, I thought last year's was pretty darn good, we could just do the same, but we could also do more or less as people desire.

And this year there will be an amplified sound system for Sam's presentation!

So are some folks planning on staying at the Silver Cloud hotel again this year?

Has anybody made reservations yet?

Thanks for the feedback.

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on C-Renity

There is a boat show code on the website for the Silver Cloud Hotel Stadium. The boat show rate is $135 for a King.

This quote is from some time ago (August 23).

Is this the best deal for the Silver Cloud?

Do we have one through the same gal/agency we've used in the past?

Just thought I'd bring it up to date as folks start to make reservations.

Joe. :teeth :thup

We are planning to make reservations real soon.
We also are looking forward to the brewery dinner/event Jan 31.

Tom, are you still planning to drive a van, if so, please reserve 2 seats for us.
Thanks!

Al and Karen will be at the boat show and want to join all of you for the pot luck and all you plan; have not made reservations but we are flexible so which ever place is chosen by the majority if fine with us. We will be driving up there and stay Jan. 31 - Feb.2 Harmony hopes to see you all there.
