OK, I know it is only June but we have been contacted by the Hawthorn Suites and they would like us to come back .

Linda contacted the Larkspur Landing where we were last time and this was their response

Roger--Sherrel at Larkspur said the rates would be $79.00 for a studio and $89.00 for an executive suite. and the same accomodations for the meeting room. Linda

and this was the message Linda sent me about the Hawthorn Suites.

Hey Roger-Timothy Duffett from Hawthorn Suites e-mailed and asked for our business. Even though I LOVED the Larkspur, the meeting room WAS small. He's willing to offer our group the full meeting room both Fri. and Sat. for $100.00 (last time there was some tax on that- I think about $130.00 ttl). The Studio Suites for $85.00 and the Townhouse Suites for $95.00 per night. The place is remodeled and the prices sound decent. It looks like the Boat Show weekend is Jan 29-31st. What do you think?
Linda

so My question to Ya'll is what do you want to do. I personaly Liked the Larkspur albeit the meeting room was small. it is your gathering so I want to do what you all wish.

I like the larkspur and the people were freindly. After the other place was unwilling to work with us i dont see a need to go back unless its a mater of room.

So far the only C-Brats that have answered have been those that live in the Great State of Washington. I'm thinking the SUN must be shining everywhere else with folks out enjoying the SUN, while us Washingtonians are hunkering inside on our computers since there is NO SUN to enjoy! :disgust .

The Admiral did NOT like the rooms at the Hawthorn (I was ambivalent but slightly negative.) I have not been to the Larkspur so do not know if it is an improvement, but based on what I have read here, I think we should continue with the Larkspur.

You should know that I held out for a February departure for AZ next winter so we could attend the SBS and CBGT!

OK.... Or maybe one of those places in NASHVILLE.....
We all just bring some pictures of our C-Dory boats....and just enjoy each other and raid the old honky tonks, run the river a bit for those who can bring their boats (Nashville City Wall dock is at the base of Broadway...SENSEI has been there)..... take in the Grand Ol Opry..... and or just knock around a bit....

Is it just me.????? or am I the only one with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth for the Hawethorn after we gave them our business for several years.....then they toss us out when there was a new game in town....now that game has left town...and suddenly we wanted back in the barn..... OK... I got that out. Guess I am turning into a cranky old man...

Now to answer....anywhere in America is fine with me....will be glad to show up anywhere and see a bunch of my C-Brat friends. I know I sure hated to miss last year....and have truly missed seeing my crazy as I am about boats friends.

Thanks for Roger and others that make this gig happen each year...and...I understand there is a boat show in the area too around that time....grin. :thup :smiled

Will check out later today how many C-Brats are in the Chaleston, SC area...

Or...maybe we can get together Friday evening/Saturday around that state park down the road from EQ Marine on the 25th-26th of Jun just to warm up and see each other????

Byrdman... missing my C-Brat west coasters....and some eastcoasters that I also missed this weekend in Rock Harbor.... oppps....that is Rock Hall... Rock Harbor is a Marina on the Cumberland River....between Old Hickory Lock and Dam...and the Nashville City Wall. Man..this coffee is kick'n today!!!!

I can sure understand the feelings about returning to Hawthorne. We liked the rooms at Hawthorne, though the campus was spread out a bit, and were quite disappointed with the meeting room at Larkspur, (which appeared to be only about half the size needed for our group. Might be a good tome for some bargening, for an even better rate at Hawthorne. We will go with the majority, and are already looking forward the SBS CBGT and have passed word on to 4 new owners about the fun of the January C-Dory fix.

OK.....NOW WITH THE NEW OWNERS AND PLANT LOCATION.... I GUESS WE NEED TO MOVE THIS TO BELLINGHAM AREA?

Maybe we could just get a privat bus or shuttle to the boat show one day...or not.

I think the dates are 29Jan-6Feb, Too bad one of those cruise ships are not just anchored out ....not that would be a blast.

OPTIONS, (IMHO)
1. a CBGT at the SBS but no factory participation at that time.

2. a Factory tour in Bellingham during boating season, in conjuction with the Bellingham CBGT.

3. a Bus or caravan to Bellingham from the SBS CBGT

4. a no factory party

5. or add your other viable and individual options to the list.

We enjoy the SBS CBGT and factory party and it does bring more C-Brats from across the country and it is fun to socialize there. I am sure they come for the boat show too and having several reasons to come probably helps to boost the attendance, for us combining the goals would be a benefit. YMMV

See you at the Boat Show, and Yes, Vancouver does have a boat show.

I vote for a factory party/tour in conjunction with the Bellingham CBGT.

I don't think we have to have a factory event at SBS -- we can make our own whoopee! :cocktail :cigar :beer :cake :smiled :thup :thup

Um, does Sea Sport get a vote in this?

Wow! This is tough! But I think the CBC/SBS should go on in Seattle, can't presume anything about what Sea Sport will be willing or able to do for the Brats. In fact, maybe WE should cater a party for THEM! We all owe Sea Sport BIG TIME that we are not orphans! But if they are willing, a factory tour in conjunction with the Bellingham CBGT would be fabulous. As to the hotel, too little too late for the Hawthorne - we vote for the Larkspur. We also vote for Nashville, if you have not done a CBGT in a fun new place, you are really missing out on one of the great things in life!
