01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle boat show and C-Brat Gathering

OK, so I was not planning to go to the SBS this year but the shindig at the Tap Room is too good to pass up. I am planning to arrive at the hotel midafternoon on Friday, ride up and back on the bus, and then head home (i.e., not be there for the SBS or the potluck/swap.) Lori hopes to come if her health permits, so put us down for 1 or 2 for the bus.

We have our bus reservations! It was a bit of a pain. I was more than a little miffed when the company that gave us our $707 quote told me today that gee, they don't have a bus after all. But all is semi-well, We have reservations with another company for a 36 passenger bus, we are on a waiting list for a 47 passenger model (we have 38 signed up right now). That may not work out but at least we have a bus. The upshot is no more space is available on the bus and if they cannot come up with a bigger bus we will have to ask a couple of people to drive themselves rather than take the bus. I'm sorry about this but went to several companies and there are just no bigger buses available right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a bigger bus will become available but am not holding my breath. I'll work out the actual cost (it will be a little less) once we get a little closer

AND, if you are coming to the brewery for the buffet, PLEASE PM me so I can put you on the list! If you are coming but DON'T want to partake of the buffet, that is fine too, but sure would appreciate it if you would let me know! The buffet list is at 39, and it is pretty important for our manager Jaime to know how many she needs to plan the buffet to feed! Thanks!

Are newbies welcome at the Saturday night shindig? Craig and I are coming to the Boat Show. ( weather permitting) If so where and when and what do we need to bring? We won't be staying at the Larkspur because we travel with our canine children.
Julie and Craig

Of course newbies are invited. You can google the Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Co. or just go to www.fallsbrew.com. There are directions on the site. You don't need to bring anything. The cost of the buffet is $15.00 as I remember. Plus whatever you need in the beer/wine department.

Looking forward to meeting you there.

Hi Craig and Julie,

There will be "function" all weekend. Friday night, there is a "field trip" to the Snoqualmie Falls Brewery and Taproom, for a buffet dinner and Live music ( I think it is Jazz) by one of our own, Peter (C-Dancer) Peter Jamero Project.. Saturday is visiting, going to the Seattle Boat Show, and then a Pot luck dinner and swap meet that evening.

Hope that helps. Hope to meet you there.

Leave a little earlier. Snoqualmie is just a couple of miles from North Bend right as you come down from Snoqualmie Pass. It's on your way. If we don't see you there, see you Saturday.

Thanks for the plug, Harv. Yes, we're looking forward to playing on Friday night. Our music can best be described as "Contemporary Jazz", a little newer-type jazz, a little R&B, a little latin, with a BIG sound. The music is very upbeat and toe-tappable, not boring or slow at all.

Can't wait to see y'all!!!

does any one know of a good marina close to the boat show that you could dock a boat for a few days during the boat show?

Elliott Bay Marina is relatively close to the boat show (taxi or bus) and is a good marina. Another option but less accessible for bus is Fisherman's terminal. There isn't anything I can think of that is nearer.

"Close" is a relative term. The closest is Bell Harbor Marina - right in downtown. Not the cheapest place but it's 1.6 miles or about a 30 min walk for those willing to use their feet. No boat launch near the marina, you'd need to launch at Shilshole or someplace so you wouldn't have trailer and truck parking at Bell Harbor. O/N trailer and truck parking is slim to non existent for the marinas close to the boat show.

I think a better location would be someplace on lake washington or lake union. If on lake union you could take the schudule from the boats a float show to the boat show for free.
