01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle Boat Show 2017

If folks want to do a mid week get together, I could book a party room at my apartment complex. Joyce and I sold our house earlier in the year and are temporarily living in a South Lake Union area apartment until we finish a remodel on a condo we bought. Our apartment is at 1280 Harrison St. - about 3 blocks south of the south end of Lake Union and about 1.5 blocks W of I5. There's a very large party room that would cost me nothing to use. It has a large double fridge, an oven or two, an island with a large cooktop (conduction burners) and a couple of grills outside. Parking is not too bad near there in the evening with some free street parking after 6 and a few pay lots nearby. I can book a room for as long as 4 hours.

Nice Roger, Thanks for the offer. I would love to if I was on that side of the water. See, there are some advantages to living in Seattle

Susan, How early is the Potluck area going to be available. From what I remembered from staying there before it was pretty much empty all afternoon. Just working on plans. I will be there for Potluck for sure. Friends and food. All Good.

we are looking forward to making the gathering this Year. it has been quite a long time since we have partaken a c-brat gathering . Not sure why but it seems that time has a way of going faster than I want and it is hard to do everything I want to.
we have decided to make it a must do this year to go to some gatherings. we will have the new to us boat to show off....lol.... and that will be fun.
see ya'll soon.

I have not seen any coupon codes or discounts on tickets since I started looking a few days ago. Nothing at my "local" WM.

I am seeing some great lectures at the SBS "U".

Does anyone know anything about any C-Dory's at the show this year?

Friday night, boat show dinner is at 7pm at Chupacabra, a new Mexican restaurant next to chandlers on lake union. This is just across the street from the silver cloud lake union hotel. so you can walk to the restaurant. i have reservations for 8-10 people. Speak up if you plan on going as I know of only 6 so far.

Saturday Night, January 28th, is the boat show C-Brats Pot luck, at silver cloud lake union, lake view Lobby room , 5pm. Just park at the hotel and say you are here for the Pot luck , parking is free.

we have the room from 4 until 8pm. I say the potuck will start at 5pm, this give us an hour to set up. There is Tons of counter space, with many electrical outlets for plugging in crock pots or electrical fryers. etc. and there are two sinks to do dishes.

we have in the C-Brats supplies all the plate , napkins, cups and plastic silver ware we need. so you don't have to bring any. we also have a bunch of serving spoons.

There will be hot water, coffee and tea provided. I also have purchased for the group a liquor permit so bring you favorite beer or wine to share.

looking forward to seeing you all.

Something you might want to consider if the Great Loop is or might be in your future - presentations at the Seattle Boat Show. Copy and paste from the AGLCA website:

Kim Russo, AGLCA director, and Gold Loopers will be flying the burgee for the Great Loop at upcoming boat shows. Make plans to attend one if you can. During the Seattle Boat Show, Gold Looper Sandy Williamson will present “The Great Loop: An East Coast Trip with West Coast People” on January 27 and Gold Loopers John and Laurie Gray will present “America’s Great Loop is for the NW Boater” on February 2.

Good Moring C-BRATS.

I found this on the SBS website this morning, (Yup, probably been there all the time but…) Wonder if there would be enough interest in trying for this for the C-BRATS. (We are a yacht Club (Virtual) right?

I know, the grand prize is probably of no interest to most, but it would be great to get the C-BRATS name out there and some notice about C-Dory boats. Just a thought.

YACHT CLUB CHALLENGE

The Yacht Club Challenge is a challenge open to all yacht clubs at the Seattle Boat Show.

The contest is simple. The Yacht club that brings the most members from their yacht club to any day of the Seattle Boat show wins!

Simply check-in to the Information Booth (West Hall #56) at the CenturyLink Field Event Center on any day of the Show. Once your group photo is taken, you are officially entered. The winning group receives 3 cases of Papa’s Pilar Rum, a grand prize trophy, and $500!

The winner will be announced on the last day, February 4. We hope your group will rendezvous at the Seattle Boat Show and be recognized as the best of the NW of Yacht Clubs.

Please email Toni at tonikfloor@nmta.net for further details or call 206.634.0911.

Something just for fun.

Hi Susan (& All),

Please count Amy and I in for dinner on Friday night and the potluck on Saturday...just made our reservations!!!

Look forward to seeing old and new C-Brats!!!!!

John & Amy

Teddi will be staying at her favorite place in the country...fenced yard and they let her have run of the house and a nice bed to sleep and maybe a few treats here and there.

Joyce and I should be at the potluck on Sat. night. The hotel is less than a mile from our current place and it's right on a very good bus route - maybe 3 stops away. I plan on bringing some smoked albacore tuna appetizers. Smoked tuna mixed with whipped cream cheese, a dollop on a cracker or mini piece of toast with a little pepper jelly on top.

I haven't (yet) heard a big outcry saying "Roger - reserve a room for midweek at you place" so I haven't yet done so. Nonetheless, the offer still stands - if a group wants to get together for a midweek gathering, I can get a room at the apartment complex for that. I do however need a few days notice.

Friday night dinner at chupacabra is out.

They just called me to let me know rhat they have canceled my reservation. Apparently they decided to reserve the entire restaurant for Meridian Yacht Sales.

I need a day or two to find a new restaurant. So far I think I have a head count of 10 people. I will keep you posted.

Thanks
Susan
Not a happy camper
