01/24 - 01/27 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Extravaganza

William & Beth: Sorry you will not make the gig out in the NW this year. It was great to meet you both. So...if you are missing that, hook up with Jim and Sandy on Pandy Girl as they come down from the Carolinas for the 16-18Nov07....and a day or two more for a couple/few of us on the Cumberland River! Would love to boat a bit with you and need to get this east coast side into trailering a bit and seeing others waters.

Be advised that the convention is not all fun and games. Lot's of serious stuff is undertaken. Just soos ya know how seriously we take this annual event, here is the "Subcommittee on the 'That's Life' Forum" after developing the rules of engagement.

Hi, Joel,

Congratulations to your daughter.

Two questions to start off with:

1. Has she obtained a copyright?
2. Does she want to self-publish or find a publisher?

Keep your life jacket on,
Beth and William Tucker

anyone trying to reach Linda will have to wait till the 19th of this month. She and my wife decided to get some sunshine in Hawaii. She will be back in her office soon after the 19th.

Where are the Hawthorn Suites in relationship to the boat show ?
Is it walking distance ?
Also do we just buy Boat Show tickets on line or through C-Brats or C-Dory ?
Thanks.

Big Dave;

The Hawthorn Suites are around 10-12 or so miles south of the Boat Show which is in downtown Seattle near the waterfront and Safeco Field, etc.

However, If you fly in and take a taxi the very short few miles to the Hotel, you can then hitch a ride to the Boat Show and to the party Saturday night with someone else who has a rental car, etc. (The factory is south of the hotel 5-8 miles, approx.)

Free boat show tickets are provided by C-Dory. Roger has traditionally passed them out at the hotel on Thursday and Friday when new arivals call them on the house phone, then come over to pick them up. I think Byrdman was suggesting a modified handout scheme for this year in one of the earlier posts on this thread.

See ya' there!

Joe.

The motel is a couple of miles from the airport. The boat show (the indoor part) is downtown at the stadium. The in the water part is on Lake Union. You COULD walk but it'd take you a few hours. If you'd have done it in 2005, the last time I was there, You'd have drowned! It had rained for 35+ days!

They usually have the tickets waiting for you at the motel/hotel. That is if the C-Dory folks give us the comp tickets again, I'm pretty sure they will.

Google them and you'll see where they are. There will be enough of us there with cars (either our own, or in our case, a rental) that you can catch a ride with no problem.

Roger can provide a more complete answer.

as Joe has said, the Hawthorn is more than a walk to either the Boat Show or the factory .
I just talked to the Hawthorn and they have a shuttlethat will pick you up and drop you at the motel. they will also take you back to the airport when you leave.
there is a kiosk outside the bagage claim that has a phone which you can call the motel for pickup.Call them while waiting for your luggage and there won't be too long of a wait for the shuttle van

I will have the ticket at the motel or if you are needing them prior to checking in at the motel we will be able to place them in Willcall for you.
If anyone needs will call tickets PM me with your full name and number of tickets needed .To be sure that everyone wanting tickets is able to get them, please don't ask for more than you will need for one day at the show. Thanks in advance for your cooperation

WOW thanks for all the great information !
We will be driving up from Vancouver with two friends but they have not commited as of yet. I don't think we will be at the motel until mid morning on Saturday, We will be leaving Sunday late afternoon or evening, would it be possible to have four tickets @ the motel ? I will email Linda ASAP when my friends commit so she can book our room, I should know by tonight. Should I just email her my VISA # or call her ?
Thanks again for the information.

Thanks Roger do you know details of which spot, date and times??

mbw

the factory will have the open house on Sat. night, the 26th .
at this time I am guessing that they will once again put together some sort of "garage sale".
here is the info from first post

The dates for the 2008 Seattle Boat Show are Thursday January 24th through Saturday February 2nd.
Here is a link to it
http://www.seattleboatshow.com/
the CBGT is scheduled for the first weekend of the show starting on the 24th and through the weekend at the
Hawthorn Suites motel

Studio suite (sleeps 4) $85.00 + tax per night
Townhouse suite (sleeps 6) $95.00+ tax per night

meeting room will be $100.00 for Friday and Sat. evenings.

They DO value and appreciate the C-Dory group--they said it's always a pleasure to have them at their hotel.

Linda has asked me to Have the group start calling her or e-mailing her with credit cards asap.

She would like a check for $10.00 per booking sent directly to her agency (to eliminate the confusion of running around collecting money at the function).

PS- Linda is also more than willing to book anyone's air/car for the function !

remember, you need to book through Linda to get the C-Brat special , do not call the motel
