OK Y'ALL
here is the information you have been waiting for

The dates for the 2008 Seattle Boat Show are Thursday January 24th through Saturday February 2nd.
Here is a link to it
http://www.seattleboatshow.com/
the CBGT is scheduled for the first weekend of the show starting on the 24th and through the weekend at the
Hawthorn Suites motel

Studio suite (sleeps 4) $85.00 + tax per night
Townhouse suite (sleeps 6) $95.00+ tax per night

meeting room will be $100.00 for Friday and Sat. evenings.

They DO value and appreciate the C-Dory group--they said it's always a pleasure to have them at their hotel.

Linda has asked me to Have the group start calling her or e-mailing her with credit cards asap.

She would like a check for $10.00 per booking sent directly to her agency (to eliminate the confusion of running around collecting money at the function).

PS- Linda is also more than willing to book anyone's air/car for the function !

remember, you need to book through Linda to get the C-Brat special , do not call the motel

I talked to the factory today and they will get back to me soon with details for the open house party and show tickets availability

F A N T A S T I C - ONLY BETTER!!

Roger, Many thanks again for your support for this event in 2008. Wow... where this has ended up with just 5 or 6 of us just staying at the same hotel a few years back!!

Check is in the mail...or over the wire to Miss Linda!! Thanks Linda for your help again this year.

ALL WHO SIGN UP: While helping Roger over the past couple of years, it gets real hard around the hotel, particuarly if the C-Dory Factory comes up with boat show tickets to get folks signed in and get them their tickets. PART OF WHAT CAUSES THAT...is the FANTASTIC features of our C-Brat site that protects our privacy and keeps the junk mail, sales, calls,...and stuff from flying our ways... So, when we email Linda our personal information, let's be mindful that on this site, most of us do not use our real names, our last names, our sign in name is one thing, our boat(s) names are somethings else....and yes...we have enjoyed forums and chats for years.... but please send her :

First Name
Last Name
Pick a Boat Name
Your C-Brat Name/Handle
First Night you want a room
Last Night you will need a room
And if you are shaking up with other C-Brats...one of you be the point vessel for communications with Linda... and include their real names too.

We get the boat show tickets put together in envelopes and can have them ready at sign in if we all work together a bit, and you get your tickets at sign into the hotel...rather than having to track down which volunteer has the tickets now and where are they...

All of this work is generally handled by a few volunteers...and we need to make it as little work as possible, and spend more time having a great time together... some of us were professional in our previous life, but we are over that now and are down to just having a blast with our boats and boating friends!!

Looking forward to seeing all of yall again....and...I have stuck some dates up for a fall Cumberland River Cruise in Nov07... Several have emailed and asked if we were going to have one... Well...Yes. Let's go boating!!

Speaking of boating...the Locks and Dam tour was a real good time last couple of years too... Anyone interested in that, sign up via the internet with them directly for the Friady afternoon cruise and we get discounts there too.

Byrdman....

Yippeee, we're headed that way. Looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of "Brats" there. Thanks Roger and Byrdman, and the rest of the volunteers there. And thanks too, to the FaCdory Guys and their crew for their participation.

Roger - I think David and I may be able to come up with a keg for the party at the hotel, not sure about how welcome it will be at the factory! Jeff M had us hide it in the bushes the first year! Scot or anybody from the factory - is a keg at the factory OK with you guys? So let us know what your druthers are! In past years it was "whatever Catman wants" but due to his lengthy absence from this site, we need another picker!!!! (Brock - you out there, pal?)

I will be there.

How do we cover the cost of the meeting room?

Pat – you can hide the keg in the back of my pick-up. I will take good care of it for you.

If the weather is not to windy the 14th, 15th & 16th, I will plan on making it by boat. Can’t see myself driving to Seattle twice in one year.
Roger - I am sure you are referring to my statement quoted above from another thread.

I can’t think of a reason but I might make an exception and drive up there twice in one year but never three times. Before I joined this group, I would make it to Seattle less than once every five years. So far I have been there by vehicle once this year and once last year. That was the boat show/get togethers. This boat show will be next year so I will not have spoiled my record. Once a year.

I figured that we would pass the hat or have a jar at the entrance for donations.whatever we collect above the cost of the room and liquer license on friday night will be used on sat evening to buy some beer or whatever for Sat. night functions at the meeting room post factory gig

Have sent in my deposit to Linda, Sally and I are BOTH coming this year! Looking forward to it!

Hey Byrdman, how about posting a link to the Locks and Dams tour so it's easier for all of us to keep tabs on you!

Charlie

Captain's Choice, you just might win the prise for the farthest traveler to the show..Let me know which air line and the fare so that i can check to see if i have enough coins to buy us a ticket this year..Keep your life jacket on>>.. tucker

Hey William and Beth! I did win it two years ago, didn't make it last year. Last time I checked, out of Richmond to Seattle was about $250 each round trip.

Hope you can join us! It's a real "trip" in many ways! Nothing like that factory tour and party, they really put it on for us!

Charlie

Hey Charlie!

Well, I want to give the company a call first. Last year, we had about 20-30 Brats on the cruise. I want to see if they will give us a group rate. Will post after I get the answer. One of the stickers with this company is that the tickets are non-refundable. It worked out last year that some could not make it at the last minute, but others were able to get their tickets, and simply change the credit card at the counter. No real work on anyone's part...and leaves it all up to each individual to take care of themselves, and their families changing needs around this weekend, to include all the money handling. Not sure we want a private cruise because there have always been some interesting folks to join us...

The web site has conflicting information on the start time.... noon & 1pm. I want to get a solid answer on that due to many of us sleeping in a bit Saturday morning after our Friday night fun, then eating a great lunch at one of the local establishments down in the pier area. We just need to know which is the correct time.

Byrdman

OK then! A keg for the factory party it is!

Pat,

Feel free to bring and enjoy the beverages of your choice. I look forward to seeing you all at the Seattle Boat Show and factory open house.

Ok, we're getting closer to this thing. Traded phone calls with Linda yesterday about reservations, she found us round trip tickets from Richmond to Seattle for about $275 each. I was disappointed to learn we couldn't upgrade them using my FF miles however.

Went on the Delta Airlines site this morning and discovered I had just over 50K miles left in my account with which I was able to buy two FREE tickets for us, even pick the seats we wanted. All big planes too (757/767s)!! What a deal. Tax was $10 each so we're getting there for $20!!!!

That should leave us $ to do a bunch of stuff when we get there. Sally is an artist and already has her eye on bead shops in the Seattle area. Fortunately, when she buys a lot of stuff in a bead shop, it comes home in a little bitty (but very expensive) package. Easy to carry home! Now how am I gonna get a radar back on a plane!

Counting the days here!

Charlie

OK, Charlie - are we going to renew the Seahawks - Redskins thingee? Frankly, the 'Hawks are making me bite my nails entirely too much and it is only the fourth game of the season!
