01/14/05-01/16/05 - Seattle Boat Show and C-Brat Convention

I can't make the show, but would love to do a cameo appearance at the factory tour/party. Do I need to sign up anywhere? What time do you anticipate things will get underway there?

Catman: Just kidding....and as you can see I can often not even spell close enough for spell checker to make a good recomendation.... You photo on Ruxton Island reminds me of one of mine beached in Destin, FL. Looking for it now... Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

ok BRATS
here is the lowdown for next weekend
I was down to the hotel and also to the Factory today. I think you all will be pleased with the accomodations :thup :thup
The hotel has a townhouse suite that has been converted to a small conference room. there is a bedroom upstairs and a large table downstairs that would be a good place for the friday evening social. we would be allowed to have our own food and beverage in this room. the cost of this room would be the same as a studio since it only has one bedroom. if anyone would be interested in this room on friday night and was interested in sharing space for the social for a few hours it is available or if we don't have food or beverage, we can gather in the hospitality section where breakfast is servred. they cannot allow us to bring in food there. Or any other suggestions??????Please speak up here so I can get the room however we do it.I need to let them know on Monday.

Saturday the Factory is planning on starting the party at 7:00 pm and lasting till app.9:30 pm
appetizers from 7:00 till 7:30
Dinner from 7:30 to 8:30
Factory tours from 8:30 till 9:30

TICKETS
the factory is also providing C-Brats and C-Dogs complimentry show tickets. for those who are going to the Hawthorn Suites first, I have tickets for you. If you plan on going straight to the Boat show first you will be able to get tickets at the will call ticket booth.
For those needing will call here is what you need to do.
Call the C-Dory Factory at (253) 839-0222 and tell them your your name, your Boat Name (or prospective boat name), and contact information. they will automaticaly put tickets in the will call with your name on them.

the factory is about 5.5 miles from the Hawthorn Suites.when checking it out today I took a wrong turn and had a little trouble finding the factory but it was a smooth drive leaving and I saw where I went wrong.

The Hotel was easy to find. we took exit 152 off of I-5 and went down the hill east of the freeway. It took us about 5 or 6 minutes to get there from I-5 on Highway 212. it is on the south side of the highway accross the street from Boeing Aerospace Building.

Roger
I can't wait to see you at the show. you have done a great job setting all of this up. Susan and i will be at the show on saturday and the party after. depending on work we may even show up for the friday night social. I may go up to les's and take pictures of my baot tomorrw depending on weather and job. being my job depends on the weather I just may have the time. I figure showing up at noon to two at the show and hang out and shop until the party. I have to get all those nik nats for the boat.

So you would be looking for, what, everybody to chip in maybe $10 apiece for the suite for the Friday night do (if nobody rents it for themselves)? Sound do-able to me, we would be in...We MUST have a place for adult beverages! If not, though, we could just go from room to room...

Roger-

I wouldn't be totally opposed to the idea of renting that studio suite, but there are two problems:

l. Weather permitting, I'm going out on a cruise with Fred to the San Juans on Friday, so don't know exactly when I'll be back and don't want to rush the trip. I could give the key to someone responsible, however.

2. With 40 boats signed up, our Friday night thing could net 25 or more people easily. Will this room handle the crowd?

Joe

I just want to give a round of applause to Roger for spearheading the accommodations. Thanks, big buddy.

Hey, maybe I should go get some of those blank nametags, the kind that peel and stick. A lot of us don't know one another.

Well, It's official. My youngest daughter will not reschedule her wedding in Bellingham next weekend to allow me the opportunity to play with the rest of you on opening boat show weekend. I've tried everything from work conflicts, threatening not to pay, throwing fits, etc.

Actually, I can't wait for the wedding, but I do regret missing a great opportunity to meet some of you for the first time and to visit with those of you I have met in the past. Have a safe fun time, don't spend too much money and maybe, I'll run into a few of you the following weekend.

Tim

Roger, thank you for setting this up for all of us. We're booked for Saturday night only, but Shelley and I may have to make a customer call in Seattle on Friday. If that happens, we would take the room. I'll let you know as soon as our plans are confirmed. If someone else wants the room before we can finalize our schedule, they can have it and we'll book another one.
Lyle

Ditto to Roger, thanks Buddy. We will coming to the show Saturday and will be staying at the motel that night.
I still am planning a cruise to the San Juans Friday morning, Joe is going and I still have room for one more person if anyone is interested. We should be back in Seattle before 18:00.
I stopped in and had lunch with Wade and Lois Thursday. They wanted me to say Hi to everyone for them.

Well, save yourself half a buck and get one less than you think you need, 'cuz I ain't wearing one. Too yacht clubby for me. I'll be the quiet, reserved gentleman with slightly thinning hair.

Roger - You done good! Way good! You were right up there tied with CM as the best damn camp director ever. And then he came up with the nametag idea, and you kicked his butt good for sole posession of the top spot. Thanks!

Yup cudos to big Roger...helluva job
Me thinks name tags aint a bad idea, so many new folks and new names...I don't have one of those pornagraphic memories like Mike. I'll stick a sticky badge on my blazer :)

Yessir, Ken, I can DEFINITELY picture you in a blue blazer, ascot, white bucks and a captain's hat - with a name tag to boot! NOT!

And we second [or third?] the kudos to Roger! Great job!

Name tags, Blazers? I may be a bit underdressed for this gathering. Think I'll leave the dress code up to Roger cause so far everything he's done and put together has been perfect. Thanks for pulling out the stops on this and getting everything together. We all owe you a bunch and a big thank you.

Slightly thinning hair?
The way your head shines like a chrome hubcap and you running in circles, why, I thought you were the Big Wheel. :moon

"pornagraphic memories" whay type of party are you guy planning and whos bringing the vidoe camara??

I ain't touchin' that one...
Okay, that's one name tag for the thinning guy, and one for whomever else cares to slap it on their blue blazer. I can see it now: Tyboo will wilt under the awesome social pressure of being the lone club member without identification.

Roger,

Thanks for everything you've done. Sure do appreciate the schedule and driving directions. We'll be at the SBS on Saturday and staying at the motel that evening. We're really looking forward to seeing everyone.
