Saw Pat, Patti and David today at the SBS - all crawling all over the C-Ranger tug (just before and as I was doing the same). With the boat topless, it's a bit hard to get a good feel for how it will look and feel when done - but I didn't see Pat and Patti's checkbook flying out....$'s still intact guys?
It was a good show for me - got my belated Xmas presents:
I stopped by the Mustang life jacket/survival suit display and talked the wife into letting me buy the bomber style mustang floatation jacket -
this style. Had to order it from Fisherman's Supply - with the SBS 10% discount was about $190. I've always been a bit worried about falling out while setting the downriggers. Sometimes, Joyce is napping a bit during those early AM fishing trips and I think the boat could go on for awhile before she noticed I was missing.
Stopped by the West Marine booth and picked up a new boat hook and a little strobe light to put on the jacket. Finally, I bought a nice, collapsable stainless/mesh crab pot -
this kind. Made by a guy up on Vancouver island. Collapses to a smaller volume than the metal folding ones and sets-up in a couple secs. Wanted to give it a try. Anybody used these before?
Also picked up a new Wagoneer's cruising guide for the new year. Had a late lunch nearby and headed home. All-in-all a good show.
