01/13 - 01/15 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

This year's C-Dory display at the SBS was mighty impressive with the Tomcat 255 and the C-Rangers out there. The updates to the CD 22's look great as well. C-Dory sure must be doing something right. Makes me proud to be a C-Dory owner! On the other hand, we took a look at the Cape Cruiser. Nice but not impressed.

Pat....Pat here...too. I would love a tour of the falls and the brewery... I will do my best to keep folks up'n going....and, my main man Roger should be in the area too.... He did pretty good at Blakely... Less than 24 hours till I will be at the show!!!!

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA

Unfortunately, My other brother Mike and his wife Brenda, ("B") will not be able to make it this year. Major re-modling job on he and B's abode....and....they just got their first C-Dory less than a week a go....so...they have to get their daily dose. Ya know how it grabs ya.

* Note: Due to the Seattle Seahawks playoff schedule, the Seattle Boat Show will close one day early on Friday, January 13 at 6 p.m.

This note on the SBS websitte. Looks like a 6PM shutdown on Friday. It also says that the in-water part at Chandlers Cove will be open on Saturday AND Sunday both.

Steve, if Dusty doesn't bunk in my spare room (in a 2BR townhouse) at the motel on Thursday night you're welcome to the space. I'm hoping he will on Friday night so don't let your other room go.

OK, in prep for my trip out next Thursday, I added Seattle Wx to my weather page. It shows rain/showers EVERY DAY through Tuesday 17 January. I used to go out there a lot on Navy trips but don't remember it being that wet. :smilep Guess I'd better bring the oilskins..

I recall buying my kids t-shirts that had a picture of the Washington State Bird on it..... It was a fish. Now I see why...

I think I see your problem. You need to use WD-40 instead of that sunblock stuff.... :hot :cry :cry

Dusty and Diane (AKA Mrs. Dusty) are coming to the show/gathering! :thup :thup Along with their son-in-law and daughter.. :thup .. They'll have townhouses there at the hotel....

This means that I've got a vacant BR in my 2BR place on Thursday/ Fri /Sat/Sunday nights if anyone needs a bunk.

See you all there!

Charlie

OK, we are two minutes away from getting in the car, going to Eastgate Park & Ride to pick up David - who claims he has left his checkbook and credit cards back on Guemes - and heading on in to the Boat Show! Lord, give me strength - for what I am not sure, the courage to buy? To resist buying? Well, for something anyway! Byrdman - I will have your fish whacker with me in my car, I think they would want to confiscate it at the door if I tried to bring it in...

My cousin Loni will be in town for a PETA meeting that weekend, Charlie. You think Sally would approve if she bunked there?

Let's see...

Lori or Dusty?

Lori or Dusty?

Duh....

Wasn't she married to Burt Reynolds at one time? No, wait, that was Lonnie Anderson....

No problem Don, I'm harmless, except for my sense of humor at times. :cry

Sent you my cell phone number in a PM. I'll be there about 4PM on Thursday and don't leave until Monday AM. Let's do any details via PM.

Charlie

Hey Charlie:

Loni is the name, not Lori or (worse) Lonnie. Tsk. Better she stays at the Crowne Plaza per schedule. I was just trying to cheer you up seeing as you were gonna be alone up there. She's single ya know, and appropriately aged.

Don

I'm apparently the victim of a hoax. Too bad, looked forward to meeting her. Just too trusting I guess. The next time I believe Don will be...

Saw Pat, Patti and David today at the SBS - all crawling all over the C-Ranger tug (just before and as I was doing the same). With the boat topless, it's a bit hard to get a good feel for how it will look and feel when done - but I didn't see Pat and Patti's checkbook flying out....$'s still intact guys?

It was a good show for me - got my belated Xmas presents:

I stopped by the Mustang life jacket/survival suit display and talked the wife into letting me buy the bomber style mustang floatation jacket - this style. Had to order it from Fisherman's Supply - with the SBS 10% discount was about $190. I've always been a bit worried about falling out while setting the downriggers. Sometimes, Joyce is napping a bit during those early AM fishing trips and I think the boat could go on for awhile before she noticed I was missing.

Stopped by the West Marine booth and picked up a new boat hook and a little strobe light to put on the jacket. Finally, I bought a nice, collapsable stainless/mesh crab pot - this kind. Made by a guy up on Vancouver island. Collapses to a smaller volume than the metal folding ones and sets-up in a couple secs. Wanted to give it a try. Anybody used these before?

Also picked up a new Wagoneer's cruising guide for the new year. Had a late lunch nearby and headed home. All-in-all a good show.

Now just what do you suppose Pat and Patti are grinning about? Jeff seems mightly happy too.

A few years ago I did a 1 week kayak trip in the Nanaimo area. I got the small version of that crab trap that I could carry on the kayak. I have tried it a couple of times but not in a good area. I have never caught anything with it - also it is very small. It does fold down nicely and is built well.

So for Friday can I pickup comp tickets for the show at the hotel? Since the shows ends at 6pm I want to get in as much as possible.

See you on Friday,
Steve

So if you can't get a room, stay on your boat and come to the party!!

If you can't get a room and don't have a boat, I've got a second BR in the townhouse still. Up for grabs, Thursday-Sunday nights.

David,

If there is any truth in that picture then it looks like Pat and Patti will also need new jackets with a modified logo. If they show up at the factory gig in tow coats then I'll know it's true.
