01/13 - 01/15 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

Terry: Byrdman here...down in AL. Some think from my accent that I am a local NYer. My brother Mike and his wife B' are not going to be able to make the SBS this year. I would like to, but like you have to fly in from the right side. My flights last year worked well flying in on Thurs and out on Monday... other than the snow storm and SW re-routing me thru St. Lewis, then Kansas, then LA, then to Seattle... but then, once greated by a big ol smile by Roger (SENSI), my brother Mike and B who flew straight shot from Nashville...no re-routing, it was a great trip. Have not met ya, but if ya travled with Bill & El and are C-Dory folks, we might be able to hook up and split the cost of rental car and one of the two bedroom villas that Roger/Linda have set up for us C-Dory folks. If so, this would make the trip much more affordable for me on my retired fixed income...and would more than likely take advantage of driving on up to Nashville and pick up a little BBQ for the Friday night get together.. Yes folks... I can/will bring more of the Brisket than I did for the Blakely gathering.
What ya think?

Byrdman,Terry here ,tried your C-phone then home phone-no answer -so went ahead and contacted Linda at Travel Desk and reserved a 2 bedroom suite for Thurs,Fri, Sat and Sun. nights. I also had her make all my flight arrangements so things are looking pretty good right now. Talked to Bill & El aprox. 2:00 PM and broke news I was coming to show and they assured me they would provide the needed adult supervision I need.
OK got to go
Terry

Ken, let it go. They have a work release-C-Dory release program ..

It's cool. Besides, Byrdman is a registered parole officer... He'll have a lot of supervision....

I have my Southwest tickets and my room reservation. So how about some info on where the SBS is located and where I will be staying.

I have driven through Seattle many times to get to the San Jauns but do not really know my way around. I don know where SPUDS is since I have a friend who used to live there and we always stop for fish and chips.

Thanks
Steve

this will get you to the show. http://www.seattleboatshow.com/index.cf ... /index.cfm

I can't help much with the rooms, all I remember was it was back down I5 & south east of the city mess, I'm Roger or somebody will post a link for it.

I'm jazzed, that boat show and related hoopla is a hoot, I'm going to get warmed up by loading the whole department in the van and next week and heading to the Pacific Marine expo (work boat show).

Hey B C....I'll see ya there on Friday, (the only day that I'm able to attend) (I go most every year). One year I located a Coastie from Alaska that owns a C-Dory. I told him about the site, but never noticed that he'd ever joined.

Let me know if you'll be there on Friday and I'll try to do something weird to catch your attention in the crowd.... :disgust LOL

COOL, we'll be there Friday also. I'll be wearing the standard issue, tan, C-Dory hat. I'll keep an eye out for ya

Hopefully you'll be wearing more than the "standard issue, tan, C-Dory hat".....otherwise it will be scary!

You can tell your students, that I'll be wearing my "standard issue, tan, C-Dory hat" as well as my jeans, shirt, shoes, etc. Maybe you can give the student who finds me first extra credit! (Kinda like...Where's Waldo  )

Terry/The Last Dance: Got your call, returned it today when not making intersection changes and working what is showing up on GPS and what is coming out of Sherryl's mouth as far as directions....  and wanted to simply call you back when I was at home with good reception.

ROOM: Sounds good on the room...looking forward to it.

FLIGHTS: Will be west on Thursday, east on Monday. Think I will just give Linda a call and let her work my airline tickets after I figure out what town I will be departing from and returning to. Truly could not be worse than the "Milk Run" that SW sent me on last year with the snow... Bham, skip St. Lewis due to snow, go to Kansas City instead, then back to St. Lewis cause they had her cleared....then just for entertainment, they routed us thru LA to SEATAC to help with the cattle call flights to move folks missed earlier that day.... May try the non-stop with either Delta, SW or anyone else from Nashville if I leave from there. Save about $50 parking if I do that rather than Bham or Atlanta. If I have more than my carry on, I do not use Montgomery.

RENTAL CAR: 50/50 on rental car need with shuttle available to/from the airport....and the many rides that should be available from the hotel to get us to/from the boat show/C-Dory plant function. Your call on the car rental. Sort of like knowing I have one...

Charlie/Sally/Captain's Choice: Charlie... hooking up with Terry on the room as you can see... But, check with SENSI/Roger... I think he knows of another person who may want to split a 2 br loft.

ALL OTHERS: Here we go again.... another C-Dory road/air trip... Ya gotta love it!!

I've been lurking on this site long enough...I'm a wannabe C-Dory owner and I'm coming to Seattle to check em out. Thanks to C-Brats I've been near obsessed with getting a C-Dory. I first saw a 22 (I think it was) a little over a year ago when we were returning from a camping trip at Saltery Bay near Powell River. It was love at first sight...I told my wife right then and there that "there, that's the kind of boat I want." Some time later I got on the net and found factory site, then C-Brats, then read of Halcyon's adventures, then read River Horse....you all know the rest. So, my wife and I are coming for the boat show. So, just wondering if there's room at the inn for a boatless Brat.

Silverback,
Galleon Marine out of Langley carries Cdorys in BC and had them at the VBS for the first time last year. Thats where we, or I should say Sher, spotted it and we were both hooked. It took awhile to find one we could afford but we are picking up our 1st used Cdory next week. :D
