SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Took the Maggie May out for a weekend camp at a friends lodge and broke in the new motor. Absolutely love the new Suzuki 90. Runs so much better than the old Evinrude I had, though anything really would. The motor ran flawlessly for the break-in, took my time and followed the manufacturers specs.

    Transom repair help

I had not thought about any oils in the form board. I have looked into the seacast, but had a hard time finding a review here of anyone who had actually used it. I was also concerned about trying to get the seacast shipped here to Kodiak, I'm afraid the shipping would be almost as much as the...

    Transom repair help

To be honest I don't know if more of the core needs replaced or not. That was the softest spot and that's all I'm really ready to tear into right now. I would ideally like to replace the entire core with a synthetic core eventually, probably this winter, when I figure out where to get one. For...

    Transom repair help

So after tearing the old motor off in preparation for the new, I have discovered that the problem I knew about was a little worse than I thought. Whomever had installed the old motor had over torqued one of the bolts and crushed the fiberglass on the inside of the transom, well over the years...

    2006 22' Cruiser $23,900 (Wareham, MA)

If I didn't just buy a new outboard for my c-dory, I would have seriously looked into this.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Got the exterior of the boat cleaned up and applied the decals with the new names. Next step, stripping the old wiring and controls from the old motor to get ready for the new outboard.

    Repowering a 22 classic

I just ordered a new Suzuki DF90 for my 22' dory. The motor alone was $9,000, plus $1,200 for the control kit, and $800 for hydraulic steering. Comes with a factory 3 year warranty plus an additional 3 year warranty through a second party. The dealer here in Kodiak said he has had no problems...

    HIN help

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. Just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly. I found it interesting that I had hull number 19.

    HIN help

So I'm just trying to figure out if I'm reading it right, but for my own curiosity, I'm trying to figure out which hull number I have in the series. HIN is MFN220190781. So as I read it MFN is the manufacturer code 22 is model length 019 is the hull I. The series? 07 is month hull was laid, say...

    Transom modification insight

I think for this summer, I will hold off on this project, at least the extension and glassing in the engine well. But will try and achieve everything else in prep of it, the design, make up my mind, and build/buy saddle tanks. Back to trying to figure out the design, I would like to make the...

    Transom modification insight

Tom, have you installed the moeller tanks in your c-dory yet/before? If so, how did they fit? Also, do you happen to know how much they cost?

    Transom modification insight

Thanks for all the replies. I had not thought about having it engineered, but that is a good point. I did ask the local boat builder about some ideas and out of curiosity what it would cost, and he gave me a ballpark between $3,000-$5,000. And with that price I think I will manufacture it...

    Transom modification insight

I am wondering what people have done to their early model C-Dorys to help gain deck space. I have a 1981 angler and am thinking about glassing in the transom hole, cutting the engine well out, and building a motor bracket much like beer thirty's but out of aluminum. As far as tank placement, I...

    Cabin Overhaul

Thanks for the I advice Thataway. I was definitely not looking at filling in the transom void with aluminum. I dont like bolt holes in fiberglass, thats the current problem with my motor. I would definitely want to fill it in with fiberglass. As for the extended transom, I want to do it full...

    Cabin Overhaul

I do like those armstrong ladders, will have to look into them. One of my main concerns about adding the Hull extension, is that i would want to remove the old engine well. Would that have any negative structural side effects? Seeing as the engine well is mounted all the way to the deck. Also...
