    Great American loop preparation advice

I think most of your questions were answered. We didn't do the whole loop... just from FL through the Erie Canal... best adventure ever. I do have two comments. One relates to your budget. We almost never anchored out because we really liked exploring the little towns along the way, going to...

We’re Moving Up, but Not Out…

Yes, I believe it's the only diesel they still sell but I'm not positive. They are definitely doing more OB. We decided on the diesel only because we really like looking out the stern and the idea of hanging out on the back facing swim step when we are anchored. The HUGE outboards just are so...

We’re Moving Up, but Not Out…

I need to add that I am very very sad to sell our Cape Cruiser 23. I seriously lobbied to keep both boats... one on each coast but Rob said no. (Wouldn't you all love to have a wife who wants 2 boats?) I'd like to have the Cutwater moved to the east coast in a few years and to repeat the legs...
  5. These 2 stainless racks are smaller but will be used for the same purpose as the others. These split the anchor well door. They do not impair access to the well and the door still fully opens.

  7. 3 stainless racks mounted on each side, under deck. Used to store clothing, towels, etc, during long term cruises. Still have the mesh bags below them for additional storage.

  9. New custom helm seat from Bentley?s Mfg in Portland, OR. This is their ?large? Sport Deluxe. Well made, comfortable with good support, and easy to install. It is soooo much better than the original seat!!!

  10. I have a latch connecting to the mooring ring. The latch came from a winch strap that I had replaced on the trailer. If so desired I can simply loop the latch thru the ring and attach it back on the noodle lines (depending on the nature of the mooring attachment).

  11. The system looks a bit peculiar but I?ll take that for a quiet night?s sleep. Plus it?s kind of fun when folks tootle past in their dinghy looking at it.

    08/18 - 08/20 - Bellingham, WA

Brock, We would probably stay through the 21st just to catch the eclipse. Will it be necessary to change the reservation since the event is just through the 20th?. There was also a great music event/cookout on Thursday nights at the hotel Bellweather there. Thursday the 17th (Blues, Brews &...

  16. The hose simply extends into the forward cabin by a few inches and is held in place by a bungee cord. This allows quick assembly/disassembly and also facilitates some directional placement if so desired. I was amazed by the strength of the air flow, which quickly cooled the area

  17. The 3" diameter hose is a separate 3' length (although stretchable as desired) that easily slides onto the funnel cover. The 2 separate parts came from Lowe's and were in the area where you find dryer parts. By keeping the funnel cover and hose separate parts they easily come apart for storage.

  18. How to cool the v-berth area? The small Frigidaire AC is place into the center opening window. I then made a funnel cover that fits over 1 side of the AC. It literally snaps on using 2 magnets. Holds fine and I then slide on the hose that runs into the v-berth. The air blows in quite strong and nicely cools down the forward cabin while the other side of the AC unit is still cooling the main cabin.
