Looked like a 22 Cruiser heading from Ellsworth to Bangor on Monday, 21st. It had a burgundy stripe, burgundy bimini, burgundy main motor cover and burgundy kicker cover. Was not able to catch the name.
Just thinking out loud, maybe the rotors are the problem(wrapped) forcing the calipers to move excessively and working the bushings out in the process? Although, two on the same side seems too coincidental.
Been through a lot of props(rocky Maine lakes and unforgiving sea coast), some sung, usually around 2500-3000 and others were quiet. Never had a 4 blade sing.
John,
Just returned from 14 day cruise of the North Channel and only experienced 2-3 days of smoke haze, wouldn't let that stop you unless you are quite certain of a future visit to the area. Yes, aluminum props are a better mix with pink granite, don't ask how I know!
Finally had a chance to measure transom height and the inflatable was 15.5". Forgot about my fiberglass C-Puffin dinghy and it was 19.5" so stayed with the "short shaft" vs the "extra short shaft". Thank you for the replies. Getting ready for a cruise in the North Channel, Ontario.
Thanks for the responses. The reason I'm asking is that I purchased an E-propopulsion 1.0 motor for my dinghy and went with an "extra short shaft" from their charts. Problem is a "short shaft" arrived and before sending back wanted an exact measurement of the transom. 15 3/4" is the change over...
Looking for a transom height on the West Marine RU-3 inflatable. Mine is not currently available and WM does not list it nor have a sample on display. Thanks!
Power on, power off the trailer is the only way I can single-handily load and unload at the ramp near my Down East cottage in Maine since there is no dock or float adjacent to the ramp. the spare tire on the trailer tongue acts as a step on & off the bow. Water just over the trailer fenders...
Hello NECoastie! We do a lot of island hopping out of S. Gouldsboro on Frenchman Bay, where are you cruising from? We've had our Widget for 20 years and it is the perfect boat for day & 3-4 overnight cruises on the coast of Maine (& Moosehead Lake). Could never understand why some local dealer...
Congrats on the new boat! At least the C-Dory can hold up to the rough conditions Lake Champlain can dish out; I know, just spent the roughest 5 days of my cruising career on the lake with another C-Brat in September with winds from some direction of south every day & up to 20MPH. Very clear...
The choke is an electric solenoid operated all or nothing choke. If you lift the fast idle/choke lever with the ignition on you will here the click of the solenoid at the last bit of lever travel. Backing off, the choke is released and the idle is held fast and controlled as you lower the lever...
You could enter the Bras d'Or Lake at the north end of Cape Breton and exit the lake at the south end. Or do what Bob suggested the Canso Canal using Prince Edward Island for protection from large seas.
