    C-Dory pricing

We have previously owned a CD-25 and currently have our Ranger 29 for sale at a broker in Anacortes. We’re thinking about buying another CD-25 or maybe a Venture after the 29 is sold. What I have learned from the broker (Russ Meixner) and talking to employees of Ranger and NMI is that these...

    First cruise lower Puget Sound

Swantown Marina in Olympia is a starting point that we have used. Walk to old town or the farmer’s market. I would get a Waggoner’s Guide for suggestions of day trips, etc.

    Venture 26 vs C-Dory 25 ride

We had a CD-25 and currently have a Ranger 29. The ride and the comfort level of the Ranger is pretty impressive. However for various reasons The R-29 is going. Now thinking about a boat that I can trailer myself (comfortably), that’s less complicated and cheaper to maintain/house. I also...

    That’s good information. Thanks!

    Venture 26 vs C-Dory 25 ride

I’ve seen posts where some prefer the way the Venture handles the water. I have a more specific question since my wife and my dog never cared for the slapping of the C-25 through choppy water - is there less slapping action in comparable seas with the Venture? I always liked this group. Thanks!

    My CO alarm went off!!

My dog was sleeping next to a carbon monoxide detector in a trailer and she set it off twice in one night. We moved her and peace resumed. Not sure which end of her set off the alarm

    Pot heads and C-Dory?

I agree that this isn't necessarily the kind of debate that changes anybodies mind. I don't have any kind of lily-white history myself but as a long time resident of the Emerald Triangle I have some pretty strong opinions about pot growing. The get-rich-quick mentality is an ugly one. Right...

    rough water crossing

I might pick an alternate destination. Say launch and go to LaConner for lunch. That way I'm on the water. For one thing I don't want the "Admiral" to get down on boating.

Boat Charters to cruise the San Juan's

San Juan Charters out of Bellingham have power and sail boats. We chartered a Ranger 29 three years ago. They have Aspens and a Nordic 32 also. Seems like a well run company. They did scare my poor wife with all their talk about "killer" rocks.

Hey Butch, Great to see you on the C-Brats. How did that check valve work out? Jeff

    2007 25 Cruiser, $65,000 (Berkeley, CA)

Sold the boat as part of a purchase deal on a Ranger Tug. So we're still part of the greater C-Brat/ Tugnut family. Jeff

    2007 25 Cruiser, $65,000 (Berkeley, CA)

Oh yeah. We also have a memory foam topper for the vee-berth and a nice solar powered ventilation fan. Sorry about the quality of the pictures. Maybe I can get my wife to start a photo gallery off her lap top this weekend.

    boat mold help?

For mildew prevention, ventilation has made a big difference in our boat. I put a solar powered fan in the front hatch and leave the head door and window cracked open - this seems to keep the moisture level down. We also have an oil filled electric heater that I leave on at a low setting.

Pat Anderson - Is this rumor true?

I heard that the C-Quester will have twin 90's but you'll only be able to run one of them.

    Missouri River Cruising

I think that a trip like that would be great. You could get that whole Lewis and Clark thing going. Unfortunately it's going to be a couple of more years before I can take that kind of time off. I wonder if several boats could get a special fuel delivery - assuming that there's some kind of...

    Moving the Grand Banks

I helped my buddy move his 32 Grand Banks up the ICW for 8 days. Northern Florida (saw a Space Shuttle launch) to North Carolina. Pretty mellow way to travel and the Flying Bridge was great for the calm waterways. It's incredibly roomy compared to a C-Dory. You can keep all that darn teak...

    Electric troubleshooting

I had an interesting challenge which I finally resolved. Our Wallas heater/stove-top stopped working. It didn't take too long before I realized that I had lost power to it. I have not spent much time fooling with the electric system but I thought that I knew which line went to the Wallas...

    Manouvering a C-Dory

I don't care how slow I'm going as long as it's in the right direction. More experience helps when dealing with wind and current when docking. Thank goodness for easy gel coat repairs and tolerant boating neighbors - whoops, sorry!
