Ranger Tug 21ec - My Observation!

Frob, The seas that I am referring to where not wind chop, but a ground swell and I was running directly with it. The boat wants to broach because the hard chine pushes the bow down allowing the keel to dig in. I discovered this because when the boat gets over 9 knots or so there is a little...

    21ec name ideas?

I answered the coast guard one night, in regards to a phoney mayday call, and had the coast guard saying RUB "N" TUG over the radio on channel 16. He and I both were chuckling. Good times.

Ranger Tug 21ec - My Observation!

I am very hesitant to agree with the larger motor Idea even though yes a little more speed would nice sometimes. In a 4 to 6 foot following sea I have had my 21 over ten knots and I can tell you that a full keel semi-displacement boat, even with the hard reverse chin across the back, does not...

Ranger Tug 21ec - My Observation!

IdleUp, As an owner of an 06 Ranger 21EC, I also disagree with all of your comments. The Rub N Tug has almost 320 hours on her hour meter, 7 trips to Catalina Island and a trip north to the Channel Islands under her belt. You said that you spent 45 minutes on the boat. I have used every...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH YOUR RANGER TUG TODAY ??

Your list will never end! I started with safety items such as a radar reflector, a larger first aid kit, 12 gauge aerial flares, I added a secondary (much better) VHF w/ second antenna and recently, in preparation for a 4 day trip out to Catalina Island, we added cupboard organizers. On this...

C Ranger 21 EC Fuel system.

I would like to think that I have more options than carting around 20 extra gallons of fuel. With this small of a boat I need all the storage I can get. I think this is a case of a design flaw. Hopefully some has some creative insight on a feasible solution.
