    halibut opens may 2nd

For several years I used Power Pro 80lb braided line on my reels. Last year I changed one over to 50lb and like that much better. The smaller diameter has significantly less drag in the water and the result is you can get by with less weight. To me this is more important than the security of...

    halibut opens may 2nd

I'll be out there however this year I'll be riding and not driving. Shrimping on Saturday as well. The following week will be 4 days at Lapush. Halibut on Thursday and Saturday; Ling Cod and Seabass on all four days. Plus this year Kings are open off the coast as well. May is my favorite...

    Wallas fails to start

I had a similar problem with my Wallas earlier this spring. I verified I had sufficient voltage at the unit and talked through some troubleshooting steps with the local Wallas rep. He believed the glow plug was at fault consistent with the age and hours of use. I replaced it however it did...

    SeaHooked has a New Home

SeaHooked is now sold. It has a new home in Cornet Bay (WA) with C-Brats Rod and Jane. Certainly sad to see her go but comfort in knowing the new owners have adventures planned way beyond my capabilities.

    End of Summer Adjustment

Thanks for the compliment on the floor Jim. It was a labor of love. Luckily I have enough teak and basswood left over to do my next boat. Likely a CD22.

    End of Summer Adjustment

I looked out the window this morning and noted our beautiful summer is now over. Late in starting but longer than anticipated for the Pacific NW. That realization has prompted me to decrease the price of my CD25 to $56,900. Only one person has looked at the boat to date since I posted it in...

    2006/7 25 Cruiser $56,900 (Edmonds, WA)

I'm reducing the price of SeaHooked to $56,900. If you want to include a new bunk trailer from Kisap Marina in the deal, it will be approximately $7,000 more.

    Rigging location for downriggers

Mark, I'm a little late getting to the trough on this one however, I have two electric Scottys and a manual Penn on Seahooked. I use the Scotty rail mounts centered on the vertical rail close to the stern. With these rail mounts you need to cut a board to rest against the gunnel and support...

    anchor light placement

I forgot to mention I also raised the radar dome (as seen in the photo above- thanks Roger) with 6 inch aluminum spacers to eliminate potential interference with the transom of the RU-260 dingy.
