I installed the system myself. Took about two days. I have the 6,500 btu unit as it doesn't cost much more than the 5,000. I'm using a 1000 watt Honda generator. Their expensive ($650) but so quiet and only 29 lbs. I posted a bunch of pictures.

The Honda 1000 generator is perfect. It's small and quiet. At 29 lbs it's easy to move around. We're glad we didn't spend the money on the 2000.

He had to drill a hole in the bottom of the boat for the water intake.

Here's another shot of the unit which shows the duct work. All ducts are inside the cabinet, so no unsightly ducts in the cabin.

This is the actual A/C unit which fit very easily into the cabinet underneath the sink.

The Mermaid Marine AC (www.wrightmarine.net) works great! Craig hooked it up and we run it with a Honda 1000 generator, or shore power, either one. Note the return air vent and two cool air vents. The cabinet door can be opened to direct the air into the bed area.

Our weekly grocery trip to Cayman Brac can be a long ride when the water is rough and we have to slow way down. So Craig bought a DVD player to pass the time.

Craig isn\'t smiling so much in this one--this is when he found out that the shipping was $7,500. Egads!

Hunky Dory likes her new dock and boat lift. We woke up early the first morning to make sure she was still there. :-)

Finally! Time to drive her home and Craig is smiling big.
