Question re Optima yellow top batteries

Some auto parts store would recharge and test your batteries for free, might be a good place to start. If they test good, then you can get the proper charger for them.

    Guest Chargers

I would start with the fuses, you might have one at both end of the wire lead, near battery and near charger.

on my 22 I have the whole Gamut of lines

They are good arguments for either way but I like my line to look different, my bow line being longer then the stern line. Since I normally store all of them in the same place, I can more easily tell them apart and grab the one I need. As for length, it’s nice if they can’t get tangled in the...

Cat(s), on board, who has them?

Cat can swim just fine. for me, the pfd is more about having something easier to grab if I need to retrieve the cat from the water. As for the litter box, my wife found a portable one that sit inside a hard sided canvas bag with a zipper mesh top. Our cat does not need privacy so we can keep it...

Cat(s), on board, who has them?

Some cat do enjoy doing outing with their owner, being on car or boat, like this one. I used to be much more of a dog person but my kids decided that they are cat peoples, so now I’m a little bit of both. The previous cat we had, I would have never dare take him on the boat. But the current...

    Trial Run with Spouce

Does your stove as 2 burner? If so and you think you can get away with just using one, I would put about half a quart and see how long this last. Depending on your cooking style, this might be all you need for your outing.

    Trial Run with Spouce

Denatured alcohol evaporates quite fast, not always worth it to fill it up if it will sit unused for a couple weeks or longer. One quart should be plenty, you can carry an extra one just in case. I had one but it was about 15 years ago, if I remember right, I burned less than a gallon for a...

    Moving battery bank to galley

Thanks, makes sense. To clarify, they take the charge equally no problems, the issues is during discharge from 100%. Not that big of a deal but not quite as set and forget as I was hoping for.

    Moving battery bank to galley

I finally had a chance to put that whole new system to the test recently. I went on 2 different trips, first one was 5 days and I was exploring a new area for shrimp pots, so I get to use my line hauler and anchor windlass several times, both of which are connected to the house bank and worked...

    CCI anchor rode

I need to replace my anchor rode. I find a good deal on a spool of 8 plait 5/8” but I can’t find any reviews on this brand, at least not as an anchor rode. I find this at a place that does commercial fishing, mostly set net, drift net. Brand is CCI/General Work Product Any one in here knows...

Towing Tomcat with 3/4 ton Modern Gas Motor?

I used my 2014 Chevy 2500HD with a 6.0 gas engine once to pull my tomcat. It did great, no big hill though but I’m sure it will have been fine. Like Bob said, fuel economy was not great.

    Boat lettering

I’m looking for recommendation on a good place to order lettering. While I’m on that subject, I will be renaming my new to me boat, and will certainly ask Poseidon for his blessing. But now I’m wondering about the C-Brats, my user name is the name of my previous boat and I believe the new...

Here is a dumb one, Sole's in 22 cockpits...

I rarely use the floor board on my 22, I kept a small rubber carpet by the cabin door in the cockpit since that is where the water will pool up, that work just fine for me. Main raison for me was weight saving and easier to keep clean.

replacing water tank in 22 with removable jugs

I did remove the water tank on my 22, and it was nice to claim all that space for storage. I added a manual water pump (Whale GP0650) and a 5 gallon water jug under the sink strap to the shelf. I usually carried a spare so I had a good bit of time to refill the empty one. I removed the wash down...
