How slow can you stay on plane?

We usually ran our C-25 around 15 to 18 mph and liked it there. Dropping down into the lower teens it became difficult for me to tell when off plane other than watching the growing size of the wake. Curious how slow other models can stay on plane?

SOLD - C-Dory 2004 25 Cruiser for sale, new listing soon.

I'm letting Marc at Wefing's in Eastpoint Florida handle the sale, he will have the listing up soon. 150 Yamaha, full custom camper back, etc. We enjoyed her but it's time to make other plans. I have three photos in my profile, third one shows the camperback set up but not yet buttoned down...

New Cutwater DC and Walkaround models

http://www.cutwaterboats.com/models.asp ... t%2fModels This makes me wonder how a C-Dory would work as a day boat, in either configuration. Perhaps on a Venture hull?

Anyone ever cruise the Mississippi coast/barrier islands?

We spent a nice weekend awhile back in Bay St. Louis, MS and found it a cute little town and noticed that they had a nice municipal marina. I was wondering about the boating in that area? I never hear anything about anyone visiting that part of the coast. Curious about the barrier islands and if...

Importance of 4x4 or AWD or Locking Diff at boat launch?

Never trailered and never launched at a ramp and do not yet have a vehicle capable of hauling my boat. Looking ahead I'm curious as to how important the traction aids in thread title are to keeping my future tow vehicle from going for a swim! Also curious if anyone airs down their tires and...

    "Setting up" a trailer for a C-Dory?

My 25 Cruiser did not come with a usable trailer. Everything local is advertised as either "for pontoon" or "for Deep Vee". If I buy one now, how will I or anyone know how to set it up to fit my C-Dory? Is there a published set of specs or instructions on how to position the bunks? At this point...

Change prop in water from dinghy?

Just wondering if anyone had ever managed to change props from the dinghy, or any other way with boat in water?

Big results from a little kicker

Here is a post from Cruisers Forum, linked below, about pushing a ten ton sailboat with a Suzuki 2.5 HP. ---"]A friend of mine run out of diesel in the South Pacific on his Beneteau 400. He still had about 40lt of Petrol (gas) left. Here is his report: Quote: Requesting advice from Walter...

    Yet more trim tab questions

Yes or No: 1. Fully retracted trim tabs are the same or very close to having no trim tabs at all? 2. The only effect of trim tabs is to add lift to the stern, which in turn lowers the bow? And that raising the bow---pressing Bow UP--- is simply removing the tabs effect? OR, do tabs also...

    Finally some photos C-25

A few shots of our new-to-us C-25 Cruiser. We purchased out of state, sight unseen, and were delighted to unroll the canvas bundles in the berth to discover a complete custom Camperback by Sharp's Custom Canvas in Georgetown, SC. Very nice work, too.

what is the battery selector switch selecting?

I have the Perko 4-position switch 1,2,OFF, BOTH. Is the switch selecting: What is being charged by the alternator? or, what is being charged by the battery charger? Or, which battery is powering what? Or ? Yes, even after searching and reading many threads here it is still possible to be...

Small kicker direct to transom of C-25?

Has anyone successfully used any small kicker clamped---not bolted--- direct to the transom without a bracket or mounting plate?

    Removable Alaska bulkhead?

This Marinaut feature always interested me but I wondered how practical it actually was. So Marinaut owners, did you and do you ever remove yours, do you find it difficult, and do you now feel that this is a worthwhile feature? I really like the looks of no bulkhead with a full camperback...

Lightest emergency kicker for 25 Cruiser?

I've done the search and read the threads but wanted input on a specific situation. I do not need trolling or get home capability, only looking for "get out of the way of trouble" capability for river cruising---as in "here comes a barge!"--- in a package that is truly portable and within my...

    Why not twin kickers?

Crazy idea? Here is where I'm coming from. My only time at the helm of a C-Dory came when Tom (Avidmagnum) let me try C-Otter, where I noticed that at slow speeds there was a bit of "wander" to deal with, lots of constant correction needed to counteract the wind. And I've been reading hardee's...

    cutout v-berth

I like the open berth shown on the Marinaut photos and have seen other C-Dorys so modified. The Tomcats come a bit more open but I think that I want more than that. I'm a touch claustrophobic and think that I would like most everything to port of helm to be wide open, almost all the way...

Height of 25 Cruiser for dry stack

Both local dry stack storage facilities think the C-25 is too tall for them to accept and I need the actual height of the boat off the trailer, no arch or other items considered. I did a search and found the question, but not the answer. Anybody?

    One big outboard!

Link to Boat Test article on new Honda 425. Looks about six feet tall and close to 1000 lbs. What a monster! Outboards have come a long way. http://www.boattest.com/view-news/5892_how-much-does-the-new-yamaha-425-cost

Why would this Tomcat have two punctures in hull?

And, why would anyone put their boat on sale in that condition? This one looks rough and the seller does not seem to be trying very hard. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2006/C- ... vckFGgvx3g[/url]
