    Handheld GPS/Chart Plotter Recommendations

I realize a few of you are kayakers and some of you do some exploring with your dinghies. Any recommendations for a good handheld GPS/chart plotter?

    Off Topic: 5th Wheel Trailers

I recall several C-Brats recently purchasing 5th wheel trailers for "land cruising". Visiting the Seattle RV Show yesterday, I had a hard time separating the fluff from the substance. Are there RV brands equivalent to C-Dory (solid construction)? Are there RV brands to stay away from? Any...

    State of the Marinaut Business

After attending the Seattle Boat Show yesterday and looking over acres of boats, I realized that there wasn't much in the way of trailerable cruising boats around the 22' range. Plenty of ski/wakeboard boats, fishing boats, and yachts. Other than the 25' C-Dory, the SeaSports, Ranger Tugs, and...

    Race to Alaska

I'm thinking of participating in the first leg of the Race to Alaska (Port Townsend to Victoria) in my sailing kayak. The race starts at 5:00am on June 4th. What can I expect for wind conditions in the straight for early June? I realize that a lot of active C-Brats on this site are regular...

Alaska Bulkhead on a 16' Cruiser?

I'm curious if anyone has installed an Alaska bulkhead on a 16' cruiser. I realize that the cockpit space is limited, so a sliding door (or doors) might work better than the single hinged door found on a 22' C-Dory. Thanks! Leo

    Marinaut 215

Has anyone been in contact with Ben and/or Dave on the progress of the Toland Marine Marinaut 215? I have tried emailing via their website but haven't received any response. They are still advertising here, so I assume that work is continuing on hull #1. Thanks! Leo

    16' Cruiser vs 16' Angler

I'm currently looking at used 16 footers and am leaning toward the cruiser over the angler. I'm not a fisherman and the main function of this boat would be day trips. Any opinions from current and former 16' owners? Thanks, Leo

    EQ Marine

I visited the EQ website this morning and saw no mention of C-Dory. The C-Dory website still lists EQ as a dealer. I am assuming that EQ and C-Dory are going their separate ways. Leo

    C-Dory Venture Series

I was looking at the updated C-Dory website and it appears that C-Dory will be building and selling the Venture 23' and 26' models. I assume that these boats will be built from the CC molds. The CC designs had some good features and I am glad to see that all of the efforts that went into the...

Towing with a class C motorhome?

I'm looking at class C motorhomes with a Ford E350, v-10 rig. Most of these MH are rated for 5k towing capacity. Does anyone in this group tow with a C? The towing looks easy, the launching and retrieving might be a different story. Would you consider a backup camera to be an essential item...

    Old Fiberglass Boats

Hi C-Brats, I discovered that we are not the only ones fanatical about our boats. I came accross a cool website this weekend: http://www.fiberglassics.com These guys are finding and restoring classic fiberglass boats from the 50's and 60's. The thing I find a bit frightening is that I...

    THREE-FOOT-ITIS

Hi C-Brats, It seems like a trend is starting with owners of 22' C-Dories moving up to 25' C-Dories. It might be worthwhile for C-Dory to start planning on building 28', 31', and 34' C-Dories to keep three-foot-itis in the C-Dory Family. Best Regards, Leo. (currently inbetween boats)

    1994 TOLAND 18-8 CRUISER FOR SALE.==>SOLD

This is a rare opportunity to own one of twelve Toland 18-8 cruisers. Designed and built by Ben Toland, one of the founding members and designers of C-Dory, this boat is similar in design and construction to a C-Dory, with additional detail and features. With an overall length of 18'-8", this...

    NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Hi C-Brats, On January 1st, I make my list of boating goals for the new year. For 2004, I have several cruising destinations on my list that might also be potential C-Brat day cruises or overnight gatherings. #1. Willapa Bay. We would launch at the city park in Raymond, Wa. and head west...
