    Wash Down System 22' Cruiser

My wash down for the cockpit and anchor chain is a 2.5 gallon collapsible bucket with a line tied to it. KISS principle.

    20 gallon water tank

I’d call the factory and inquire where they get theirs. 🤷🏻. Worth a shot.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I removed & replaced the two fuel fill hoses & vent hoses and replaced the SS vents with new Atwood ones. The new ones prevent water intrusion, meet the new AYBC standard and don’t require an anti-siphon loop in the vent hose. The factory ones from 2006 had no loop and were directly fitted to...

D15 Low profile handle and latch needed for starboard window

I had one fall overboard while closing the helm seat window. Bought a replacement from Diamond Seaglaze along with their recommended tape. It failed after a year or so. I cleaned it all up & re-installed it with 3M automotive grade trim tape. It’s what body shops use to install exterior trim...

    Duracell Project on YT

He’s only using OSB for patterns, not on the actual bulkheads, panels etc. No wood is used at all for any fiberglass coring. He even discovered a deck repair that was balsa and he ripped it all out and repaired it with foam coring. He’s using sandwiched foam core that he laminates himself...

    Long, narrow flexible solar panels

I ordered some years ago and never installed them as the straps I made up worked. That said I’m reconsidering because we bought a different dinghy and the strap option is cumbersome as a result.

    Long, narrow flexible solar panels

The panel is about 45”L x 22”W but it fits across the cabin top.

    Duracell Project on YT

For anyone who may be interested or has time to kill over the gloomy winter, there is a YT channel that got pushed to me by the algorithm. If you're interested in boat restoration, check out "The Duracell Project" on YT. Builder is local (Port Townsend) and is restoring a 1980s racing...

    I need an outdoor cover

For $429 for one year of shrink wrap you'd have an Angola custom cover paid off in 3 years and probably get another 7 years plus out of it, based on my experience with Angola. I believe the last cover I bought was $1200 and that's for a 25 AND using Tenara thread, which added to the cost.

Electronic Gagets which make the boating experience better and safer

I tried a home brewed version of this without much success. But this “kit” may work better. Thnx.

    Inflatable Preservers

We both have WM automatic PFDS/preservers. Bought them new in 2009 when we bought our boat. They're fine and the price was reasonable. Replacement thimbles & cartridges are easily obtainable & common. I added strobe lights to the manual oral fill tube, a whistle and a small pouch for visual...

2022 90 HP Suzuki still under Warranty - look out!

The Everett Suzuki dealer, Performance Marine, brought up the different temp thermostats available when I went in to purchase one. I believe this was last year. They recommended the higher temp one, which I purchased for our 2006 DF150. The woman was the parts sales person, not the service...

    I need an outdoor cover

Forgot to mention, you may want to talk with whoever makes it regarding materials they recommend. I went with Sunbrella because I was more concerned with the material’s ability to breathe vs snow load. We get more rain than snow in the Puget Sound. But Sunbrella stretches under load, so a big...

Electronic Gagets which make the boating experience better and safer

🤔. I’ll have to look into this. Thanks. Honestly, never thought about this option. I was leaning towards zippers as recommended by Jeff Cote @ Pacific Yacht Systems, but the cost was prohibitive.

    I need an outdoor cover

I’ve had two Angola covers. Both Sunbrella. First one lasted 10 years. Material was still fine, albeit dirty/mildew from PNW winters, but the stitching gave out. When I ordered the next one, I paid extra for Tenara thread to be used (Dr Bob’s advice). It’s still going strong. Quality is...

Electronic Gagets which make the boating experience better and safer

I installed a very basic solar system in 2019. We use a single 110w “flexible” panel that gets put on the cabin top. It’s removable and stored in the head when not used. Wires run thru the arch down the port rear corner of the cabin then along the port wall/hull joint. Controller is in the...

C-Dory 25 Cruiser - Real World Engine Upgrade Options

Our 2006 Suzuki DF150 currently has ~3,900 hours. I do either yearly/200 hour oil/filter services etc religiously, whichever comes first. Flush after every trip with muffs & Salt-Away or similar. The engine seems to run fine despite the clear coat failing on the cowling, but that’s cosmetic...
