second anchor ? for Coast Guard auxiliary members

I am curious what you use for your two anchors on a 22' cruiser? And where do you store the second one and with how much chain/line? Thanks,

    windless and anchor issues

Thanks to those who have shared great ideas. I keep wanting to be able to solo sometimes and that means anchoring alone sometimes, although it sure seems like it would be so much simpler with crew :) If I switch to the pivoting bow roller or the universal bow roller I see in the West Marine...

    windless and anchor issues

I still don't get why I have an anchor problem. I have a Lewmar Pro Series Windlass and the normal roller (I think). The anchor hangs up and the salesman told me everyone goes out on the bow or reaches through the window to release it. This seems counter intuitive to me...why spend the money for...

    05/16 - 05/18 - Friday Harbor Spring CBGT

Thanks Larry for the pertinent information for May 16th. I've been through Deception 3 times in my kayak, with others and at close to slack. Each time was peaceful and beautiful, with wonderful views. The motorized experience will be interesting and I hope to be there at the afternoon slack...

    self-bailing?

Sorry I was not clear about the exact location of the water. :( The actual floor that I walk on does not have water. :? The water I see is in a compartment/area underneath where the sliding seat moves to, by the table. I noticed it when I was almost upside down crawling around trying to find...

    Cruising speeds and group travel

I am planning on going to 2-3 gatherings in May and wonder if there is a protocol or system of boats traveling together? I am also curious if anyone knows an approximate speed for several boats going together? Today I was averaging @1800 rpms? and am not clear how to figure how long it might...

    self-bailing?

I noticed today that water is underneath the table and sliding seat area. Is there somewhere I might read up on the self-bailing feature? I have what places water congregates and what kicks on the self bailer since I see no switch, etc. Suggestions? Thanks,

rearranging seat and table in 2008 22'

I do not know how to change out the direction of the seat and lower the table, if that is what I would do to make sleeping space. As far as I can see there are little holes in the bottom fiberglass to secure the seat but I have been unable to connect with them when they are not visible...

    anchoring problem

Thanks for the reply. The anchor does get hung up, but I have not noticed exactly where. As I recall it does not budge. I will go to Everett and check out more details today or tomorrow and then post. Anne

    anchoring problem

My new boat has a Lewmar anchor windlass 700. I do not know which anchor I have, but can find out Monday. The anchor does not release when I try to use it. I do not know why nor does Brian at West Marine. Does this windlass require a specific anchor or anchor type in order to have the anchor...

    Alaska Series Feedback

Now with the photo I recall these boats. The information about the 50% off sale was very enticing, if one is up to spending a chunk on a dinghy. Also the Aire Super Lynx 14 that Jim of Hartstene island wrote about also looks very appealing, again at a high cost albeit for a quality dinghy...

    NEW HATS FOR BRATS ??

I am willing to pay for the hat as it is. I like it. Also at some point I probably will be interested in ordering a sweatshirt, hooded and heavy cotton. Thanks, Anne Cox

    Uh Oh!

I don't know about a slowdown in consumption, and, if there is one, what areas are most affected. In my opinion a slowdown could be very helpful depending upon what we are cutting back on. I do know that the "repossessed" lot I drive by daily has many many boats inside the fence. Perhaps...

    Livingston dinghy cleanup

Thanks, That does answer the needs, and if it doesn't pop in the summer sun even better! And this seems to be the system Bill and El mentioned in a prior post so I will be prepared to keep a lightweight inflatable ready to go on top, and also replace as needed. Anne

    Livingston dinghy cleanup

I believe I have read most of the posts regarding dinghies. I still have some questions that I don't believe have been addressed. With kayaking as my point of reference: I am used to learning to do a wet exit followed by recovery practice at the very beginning of learning/teaching one to to...
