    Anyone need a spare key

Sean, Thanks for your generosity! Unfortunately, I discovered that it's a shorter key blank than my key so I won't be able to use it. However, I will mail it to anyone else that could use it!

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

Many thanks for all the recent posts with information and suggestions! I've been AWOL with no computer for the last few days, so just now reading these posts. But I've seen quite a difference in how much water remains within the cockpit after rainstorms since I've temporarily closed off the...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

With the drain hole (or should I call it the flooding hole?) there is no doubt where the water is coming from. That needs to be plugged with fiberglass, and whether I later bore a larger, lower hole and install a removable plug is TBD. I had stuffed the hole with closed cell foam as it was too...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

I don’t think there is any seawater involved here, but I do need to make sure I looked closer at the hole today and it’s closer to 5/8 diameter, and the bottom of the hole is about an inch off the inside bottom of the hull. Not real close With the way the stern seems to be “down “ at rest I...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

Bob I think I may have a rubber stopper that will fit. But unless I come up with a reason to keep the hole, I think I will close it off. (Or I could install a drain hole w/ threaded bung.) And install a deckplate close to the door. You don't know of any reinforcing structure built into that...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

The boat is in the water, in a slip, so can't keep the bow high! The hole is about 3/4 inch, and I didn't feel any fitting surrounding it. I packed some closed cell foam in it for now. So does anyone else with a one piece flat cockpit sole in their 22 Cruiser have a drain hole as I've tried to...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

OK, now that we are in the water, I found how water was getting under the floor. And it was. A lot of water. We've had some rain. When I stepped on the boat, into the cockpit, I noticed something that I had not before. I could see a flow of water into the bilge pump sump. I felt around in the...

Water under cockpit floor- is this normal?

I'm playing with this issue as well. Was at first convinced there was a lot of water getting under there, but now I don't think it's much, and may have taken some time to get there. Last week I drilled a 3/8 in hole low under the door frame, and while the bit came out damp, there was no water...

    C-Dory 22 Cruiser Telescoping Leg

I know there have been changes over the years about how the bed/table is set up, but I didn't think my 2007 CD22 needed a leg when the table was lowered. I thought it was just supported by the table ends resting on the seat bases. I don't have a shorter leg, or at least haven't seen one.

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

While I believe there is some water under the cockpit sole, I now think its not near the problem I was worried about. I removed the panel in front of a fuel tank and can now see how the cockpit pan is made. It's like a bowl within the hull, and should contain all water that enters the cockpit...

Sometimes improvements...aren't! It's nice having a flat, level floor, but it does add weight, and this issue.

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

I found the dimensions of the Whale pump remote pickup, and it's only 2 1/4 " high, so I think it would fit.

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

Thanks for all the suggestions and information. The arid dry type systems would certainly empty the water, but I'm thinking they are designed for removing "the last bit of water", not for pumping the volume of rain that can fall into the cockpit. I'm looking at this bilge pump with a remote...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

Do I need an album to post a picture? There is a button here to post an image[/img]but I'm not sure what to do next. The bilge pump is in the lowest section of the bilge pan, right at the drain plug. It looks like this pan sits right on the hull bottom, as it should. As I see it, I need to...

22 Cruiser, How To Get The Bilge Water Out?

I ignored the water under the cockpit last summer, but want to do something about it now. The bilge pump just doesn't seem to be located where it can pump all the water out. I've seen the suggestion to install a pump below the aft deck/cockpit sole, but before I take this somewhat complicated...

Choice Of Depth Sounder, And Location of Transducer

Thanks! I have 5 holes to fill in now. Fortunately the core is dry behind each.

Choice Of Depth Sounder, And Location of Transducer

OK! Thanks for the good information. I'll save myself some extra work likely resulting in less than acceptable results. So I'll mount transducer on the transom and use some spray antifouling. Yes, depth was indicated, but the chart plotter with this fish finder was not detailed at all, useful...

Choice Of Depth Sounder, And Location of Transducer

Thanks! Duh on the metal strip, I should have figured you were describing a rub strip on the outside! I must confess that I haven't noticed one. Will look next time.
