    Look for a Vin over the front window starboard side. 115 hp sounds like a lot for 18foot.

    81s were built for 75 hp, transom may not handle 115hp. The 75s were two stroke at the time. Maybe 250lbs.

    1982 should be plywood no balsawood? Wet plywood will bend or flex more then dry plywood.

    Thoughts on 1985 Angler 22

    The 1985 has balsa coring only in the transom. The floor and deck are plywood. Use a moisture meter. Most of the transom are or have been wet.,not sealed good when new. I removed the two thru hall cockpit drains and got lots of water. Check the plywood floor in front of the transom. Good luck.
