Which Trailer if you'd have another chance?

I have an older (1981) EZ Loader roller single axel that is adequate for the short distances I tow but the boat sits so low that I cant lower the motor all the way when unhitched (and having a slight bow rise on the boat for drainage). I also notice that the boat is busyer than I like which I am...

    Yaquina crabbing and fishing

Great story! We went out this a.m. and only got 2 keeper dungeness that we had for lunch; had to come in as its scheduled to blow up to 70 mph gusts this afternoon and evening. We often go to the Auke Bay harbor here and just sit in lawn chairs and watch the launching and retrieving while...

    Chips out of bottom/transom gelcoat...

As Sea Wolfe said, the Marine-Tex method works well and is in the skill level of virtually anyone who owns a boat. I beach my boat fairly often and have made a number of these repairs with good results; particularly when its below the water line and covered with bottom paint!

Trip Report: Aiviq on the Inside Passage

Ron B: For those who are used to being protected from cradle to grave by regulations, big government, and the safety of the "known" ; this trip may have seemed like an unnecessary or foolish risk. Personally, I enjoyed the read and admire Aiviq and his family for having the intestinal fortitude...

    Force 10 Diesel or Propane

Jason, like Seawolfe said, its getting cold up here and we know how to heat but the boating season is just beginning...all the tourists are gone! I use a diesel pot belly stove and have pics in my album. I have also had both the Force 10 and various Dickensons in previous boats....and I way...

Great day of boating; anyone else?

Thanks all for the compliments on the album, sorry about your cold Redfox, its going around down here too. I am not sure of the BTUs of the stove but if you crank it up it will heat you out. Its from the Washington Stove Works which is now defunct and appears to be a dealer option because I...

Fall in Fairbanks, boat's in the barn

I love the fall in Alaska. We go all out for the holidays and I just love the feeling of winter approaching. We have had a good long fall with the leaves turning too, not like the birch trees where my folks live in Knik but still nice this year. We boat all year round down here in the banana...

    Diving the Channel Islands

I am curious about the dive step as well, it looks like what I need for my dive buddies, who makes it? Great pics by the way. Knot Fan-C; can you say dry suit! Must be nice!

Great day of boating; anyone else?

Seas 2 to 4 feet, wind to 15 knots, rain, temp about 50.....this is why I live here. Fired up the diesel stove and went whale watching; saw 11 Humpbacks including three resting on the surface that gave a good show. Sealions galore, seals, Bald Eagles, Marbled Murlets, and Dahl's Porpoises. Not...
