    04/02 - 04/17 Nashville/Mt. Juliet TN C-Dory Gathering

Byrdman, It all sounds great. Add Wanderer to the list. Hope to get there on Friday. We plan to cruise the area after the gathering. May our vehicle and trailer remain for a week or two, if we decide to cruise from your location?

    East Coast Cruise

El and Bill, We’re aiming for Nashville and a cruise afterwards. Here come the questions. When do you plan to leave the area? What waters might we reasonably visit after the Nashville gathering? Do you know a good source for paper charts? Cruising guides? Our electronic charting...

    Circle South Florida

David, It looks like we will not be doing the South Florida Circle. As you’ve probably noticed, we are now planning to go to the Nashville gathering and cruise that area afterwards. All of the pieces are not in place yet; so, who knows. If these latest plans work, we will be in Marathon on...

    East Coast Cruise

El and Bill, Yes. We haven’t done much but consider options since this thread started. Still haven’t settled on a plan for the April-May period. We’re even thinking about giving up our South Florida circle and towing up to Nashville for the gathering. Then, we’d cruise the area for a week...

    06/03 - 06/05 Eastern Shore, Maryland gathering

Tom, First part of June sounds good. How long will we be together? If at least two nights, how about one night off Cacaway and one in a slip?

    East Coast Cruise

El and Bill, We are interested. The area between Marathon and Annapolis seems a good bet. Penny and I have been discussing cruises that we might make on the way home. The N. Carolina Sounds and the St. John’s River are under consideration. The Chesapeake Gathering is also of interest. When...

 Alma’s Only Thanks for the kind remarks about the web site. It is woefully out of date. I need to stay off Wanderer long enough to get some work done on it. I have the whole Alaska trip to do; not to mention a new grandchild and a few family gatherings. I also noticed the actual...

    Ham Radio on CD22

Since there has been so much interest… :D Wanderer now has adequate long range radio communication. We find this important for three reasons: Fun, Email, and Safety. Fun: We have a number of friends who either live on boats or who spend a great deal of time on them, in places far removed...

Just to the east of Cacaway is my favorite spot. Room for lots of C-Dories.

Alma’s Only In a later post, let’s see if we can work out the details of a rendezvous. This time I’ll address your questions. The Keys and the Dry Tortugas: I’d be happy to discuss what I know with you. The phone here is 305 289-9085. Also, you might want to take a look at the Dry...

    06/03 - 06/05 Eastern Shore, Maryland gathering

We're always interested in a Bay gathering. However, may not be back to Annapolis until some time in May.

    Hours per season

Has worked for hundreds of years. Have used it myself for the last 37 years. I thought C-Brats had to use something more complicated!

 Byrdman, I’ve been wistfully following the TN gathering thread. I even pulled up Mapquest to see how far Nashville is from Marathon – 1025 miles. I did make a note to look more carefully at the waters on both sides of the Land Between the Lakes for a future cruise. Early April this...

    Hours per season

Do you have a log that records miles through the water? If not, what method, if any, do you use to keep track of miles through the water? If so, what is it and how is it mounted? With our Raymarine C 80 we can record a track, turn it into a route and see the miles we traveled over the bottom.

Join Wanderer as she travels north from Marathon to the Everglades then on up the Florida West Coast and across the state on the Lake Okeechobee Waterway and south along the East Coast in the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) back to Marathon. We plan to leave the first pleasant weather day after...

    Swimming Ladder/Platform

 Levity The grab rail makes sense. Keep us posted if you find a better solution. The next time the boat comes out of the water, I will investigate the three step telescoping under platform ladder shown in the West Marine catalog. Amelia Anne, Let us know what you work out...

    Swimming Ladder/Platform

We ordered our boat with the swim platform. Under the platform two steps slide aft and down to act as a ladder. Yesterday, I decided to give the ladder a try. Since I was skeptical of its functionality, I anchored over the edge of a sandbar. In addition, I tied a line so I would have...
